For more information on identifying articles from the library, refer to Research Guidelines in the Course Information. Questions to address might include (but are not limited to) the following (you do not need to answer all of these questions take one as a starting point for your essay): From watching the film, what do you find most striking about the connections between gender, sexuality and race in this period of American history? Political Campaign: Topic and Outline Assignment
please read directions very carefully and see attached documents Political Campaign: Topic and Outline Assignment Instructions Overview Political campaigns provide rich insight into how candidates seek to obtain support from prospective voters. The means by which this can be achieved include the use of both slogans and paraphernalia, which provide aid in delivering a candidates platform by alternative means. The Political Campaign Assignment is broken into three parts, which collectively help you to research and create a political campaign presentation in Adobe Creative Cloud (no subscription required). You will complete the first of the three-part assignment below. The research will focus on the slogans and paraphernalia used in the campaign and what those items reveal about the periods political culture. The outline is not a final draft and should be viewed as a work in progress. Thoughts and points may not be fully completed but an effort must be made towards building an outline of the final presentation. U.S. History Essay
This assignment is two short essays at around 3-4 pages double spaced based on two different prompts about American history between 1918 and 1990. The teacher released a list of prompts that we can choose from, so you will have free creative direction as far as which combination of two prompts you would like to write about. I have attached a document with the sources and some instructions to follow. As far as sources for you to use, the required texts for this course are as follows:
William H. Chafe, The Unfinished Journey
Bruce Schulman, The Seventies
James Baldwin, The Fire Next Time
David Finkel, Thank You for Your Service
Alice Echols, Daring to Be Bad
You can use any of these texts for writing the two essays. Make sure to site the sources as the teacher describes in the document. Additionally, there are a number of supplemental readings that she assigns every week that you may use for reference or quoting. Those are on the third page of the document that I attached containing the instructions for the essays. You can quote from anywhere in these sources. I don’t have an exact number of quotes that should be used, but the more the better. If there are any resources that you need or any questions that you have, do not hesitate to reach out, I will be around to answer them. Thank you so much!
