They identified six main themes (barriers) affecting circular supply chains: Main Findings (Barriers Identified) 1. Technical barriers Short shelf-life of food products Lack of circular-specific technology Lack of technical skills and expertise Poor forecasting leading to waste 2. Financial & economic barriers High cost of sustainable materials High investment requirements Low profitability of circular initiatives Minimum order quantities causing waste 3. Planning & management barriers Lack of management commitment Poor marketing strategies Intense competition discouraging sustainability 4. Socio-cultural barriers Low awareness of circular economy Traditional organisational culture Consumer attitudes and behaviour Demographic factors (wealth, convenience, habits) 5. Structural barriers Complex supply chains Lack of collaboration among stakeholders Poor infrastructure for recycling/upcycling 6. Institutional barriers Weak government policies Lack of incentives for circular businesses Regulations still designed for linear (not circular) systems Post-Brexit trade complications Overall conclusion: Circular supply chain implementation in the UK food industry is difficult, fragmented, and requires stronger collaboration, technology, and policy support. 8) Concluding Remarks (Your Critical Reflection Suggested Points) You can write something like this in your assignment: Strengths of the study Strong qualitative approach. Includes multiple stakeholders, not just companies. Focuses on a real industry (UK food sector). Provides rich, detailed insights rather than just statistics. Limitations Small sample size (34 participants). Only UK context findings may not apply to other countries. Mostly interviews no quantitative data. Very limited representation from upcycling companies (only 1 participant). Possible improvements Include surveys in addition to interviews. Compare UK with another country. Include more consumer participants. Add numerical data on food waste and costs.Attached Files (PDF/DOCX): Guidelines-Format for Published Research Review and Analysis.docx, 4-Circular supply chain management in post-pandemic context.pdf

Presentation
Review the scenario and watch this weeks videos before you complete the activity below. This scenario can also be found in the Problems Series A section 8-19A of Ch. 8, Performance Evaluation of Fundamentals of Managerial Accounting Concepts. Scenario: The Redmond Management Association held its annual public relations luncheon in April Year 2. Based on the previous years results, the organization allocated $25,290 of its operating budget to cover the cost of the luncheon. To ensure that costs would be appropriately controlled, you, the treasurer, prepared the following budget for the Year 2 luncheon. Use Excelshowing all work and formulasto complete the following: Prepare a flexible budget. Compute the sales volume variance and the variable cost volume variances based on a comparison between the master budget and the flexible budget. Compute flexible budget variances by comparing the flexible budget with the actual results. Mr. Snow was extremely upset with the budget deficit. He immediately called you, the treasurer, to complain about the budget variance for the meal cost. He told you that the added dessert caused the meal cost to be $4,810 ($25,110-$20,300) over budget. He added, I could expect a couple hundred dollars one way or the other, but several thousand is totally unacceptable. At the next budget meeting of the budget committee, I want you to explain what happened. Create a 6-slide presentation for the budget committee meeting. Complete the following in your presentation: Summarize the results of the sales volume and variable cost volume variances computations based on the comparison between the master budget and the flexible budget. (This means to explain in writing what the results are between the Flexible Budget and the Master Budget Variances and; what may have caused the variances). Summarize the results of the flexible budget variances computations based on the comparison between the flexible budget and the actual results. (This means to explain in writing what the results of the variances are based on the comparison between the Flexible budget and the actual results and;, what may have caused the variances). Justify the favorable or unfavorable budget variances. (This means to explain in writing what the results of overall total variances (net surplus or deficit) are and, what may have caused the variances.) Since this is a not-for-profit organization, address why anyone should be concerned with meeting the budget. (This means to explain in writing why anyone would be concerned with the budget) Make recommendations for what can be done differently to stay on budget for future luncheons. Provide specific examples to support your recommendations. (This means to explain in writing what can be done differently to eliminate unfavorable variances for future luncheons) -

Strategic Retail Management Process and Boutique Market Entr…
About this Assignment Retail organizations create and implement detailed strategies that lead to success and profit. In this course, you learned how retailers analyzed their external environments to plan, organize, direct, lead, and control their organizational strategy. In the first assignment, you developed a written plan for a new boutique that would open in a recently revitalized urban neighborhood. In this assignment, you will expand upon the planning, organizing, directing, leading, and controlling aspects of the process as well as create an audio-visual presentation that will be delivered to the boutique owners. Your presentation should be based on the seven stages of the Strategic Retail Management Process, as covered in the previously written market entry retail plan. The presentation should supplement your previously written retail plan, showing how your three proposed options will help the client’s boutique reflect and contribute to the art, fashion, history, and culture of the neighborhood, while still being profitable. Additionally, explain how the management functions of planning, organizing, directing, leading, and controlling were utilized throughout the process. Your presentation will be delivered to the clients in a 10-20-slide presentation, and take 5-10 minutes. (PowerPoint’s Record feature provides an easy way for you to narrate slides simultaneously.) Project Prompts Retail is as much about customer service as it is about offerings and presentation. In this case, your customers are the owners of the shop, so keep this in mind as you develop your presentation. Since most retail communications have verbal, nonverbal, written, and visual elements, consider how to incorporate these elements into your presentation. You can combine elements into your presentation by creating a narrated presentation, using tools like PowerPoint or Prezi, that lets you combine text, sound, images, and movement into one medium. Think about how you will make this presentation visually appealing to the clients. Your goal is to give them three clear options. Your previously written retail plan presents the facts behind your suggestions; this presentation is your chance to build excitement about the options and explain how the management functions are used throughout the process. Think about ways to present your ideas in a way that helps the clients see themselves being successful using any of the three options. Keep in mind that your previously written market entry retail plan contains your research and analysis, and that the clients will use it as they work on their boutique. This presentation is the meeting where you will give the clients your written plan, so you can assume they have it in their hands as you give the presentation. To keep the presentation flowing and engaging, you can refer to data in your written plan during the presentation, without having to go into details. For example, if one of your suggestions is an upscale women’s shoe store, you might refer to a table in your written plan that shows the number of professional women working in the neighborhood and the distance to the nearest store with similar offerings. This lets you present facts and data without getting into too many details during your presentation. Related Lessons In addition to the lessons from the first assignment, the following lessons from the course may help you with this assignment: Stages of the Strategic Retail Planning Process Consumer Behavior Influences: Cross-Cultural Variations & Demographics Atmospherics That Influence Consumer Behavior Consumer Psychology and the Purchase Process What is Content Marketing? – Definition & Purpose Formatting & Sources You may refer to the course material for supporting evidence, but you must also use at least three credible, outside sources and cite them using APA format. Current events in the business world
Finding one news article (not personal blogs or websites that explain terminology) about current events in the business world will help illustrate the concepts covered in this course. The articles should have been published within the past 12 months. Start a “Thread” on the “Discussion Board” and share your article with your peers. I don’t grade late submissions. For grading purposes, separating your answers into three paragraphs to address each point (point 1- point 3) is easier for me to grade. Structure of the discussion: 1. Summary of the topic 2. The relations of the news article to your chosen chapter with page number, i.e., Ch9, p.142 (you can select one of the chapters covered so far). Explain what concepts mentioned in the chapter are related to the news article and how they are connected. This component often needs to be included or show a stronger connection. Please make sure to check whether you have provided the required answer before submission. 3. Your reactions, observations, and opinions 4. Source link (copy and paste the source link at the end): You can use Tarleton Library’s databasesLinks to an external site., such as NewsBank, the New York Times, or Newspaper Source Plus. -
