    As an OD consultant, you have an ethical responsibility to ensure that the issues you take on align with OD principles. Suppose you are just beginning your practice as an external OD consultant, and an organization approaches you for help. The company is experiencing a decline in customer satisfaction scores and believes an OD intervention will resolve the issue. Before accepting the job, you must determine whether the problem is truly OD-related or an internal matter best addressed within the organization by a different professional.

    In your Responsible Consulting paper,

    • Explain the process for evaluating an organizational condition to determine whether the required action is OD related.
    • Define the specific criteria for identifying the core of the problem and determining the potential solution.
    • Assess the given scenario and determine whether the issue is OD-related. If it is not OD-related, explain your reasoning using evidence from OD principles and scholarly sources.
    • Prepare a response to the organization explaining why the problem does not fall under OD consulting and why you are not the right person for the job.
    • Identify alternative solutions the organization can consider to resolve the issue. These solutions should include approaches outside the scope of OD consulting.
