The Context
The organisation has recently expanded by acquiring a fast-growing e-commerce retailer that specialises in sustainable products. A newly appointed department head has been given responsibility for leading the integration of the e-commerce operations into the wider business. While the department head has extensive experience in supply chain management and logistics, there are concerns about their ability to inspire and effectively lead a cross-functional team in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. You have been asked to carry out a comprehensive analysis of their leadership approach to determine whether it aligns with the organisations vision, culture, and strategic objectives.
The Task
Your task is to write a 2,500-word management report that critically examines the suitability of the Path-Goal approach to leadership in the technology sector. You should base your work around a single organisation in that sector as the case study for this report.
This 2,500-word (+/-10%) report should have a front cover with a clear title, your student ID number and word count, an executive summary of no more than 250 words; a contents page; and a maximum of 4 pages of appendices are allowable. Note that these pages’ words are not included in the word count. All words appearing in tables, charts and diagrams are also not included in the word count. There should be a minimum of 15 references from reputable sources, and references should be made using the Harvard system to support your argument. The briefing document should be professionally formatted and presentable to a director of a business.
