Structure of the Interior of the Earth
The Earth is composed of three main layers: Crust, Mantle, and Core. Each layer differs in composition, thickness, and physical state.
1. Crust
The outermost layer of the Earth.
It is the thinnest layer (about 570 km).
Two types:
Continental Crust thicker, mainly made of granite.
Oceanic Crust thinner, mainly made of basalt.
It is solid and forms the surface where we live.
2. Mantle
Located below the crust, extends up to about 2900 km.
It is the thickest layer of the Earth.
Divided into:
Upper Mantle
Includes Lithosphere (rigid) and Asthenosphere (semi-molten).
The asthenosphere allows plate movement.
Lower Mantle (Mesosphere)
Mostly solid due to high pressure.
Contains magma chambers and is responsible for volcanic activity.
3. Core
The innermost layer, extending from 2900 km to 6371 km.
Composed mainly of iron and nickel (Ni + Fe).
Divided into:
Outer Core
Liquid state
Causes Earths magnetic field.
Inner Core
Solid state
Due to extremely high press

What is Paleolithic and mesolithic
Paleolithic Age (Old Stone Age):
The Paleolithic Age is the earliest period of human history, lasting from about 2.5 million years ago to around 10,000 BCE. During this time, humans were primarily hunter-gatherers and depended on nature for food. They used rough, unpolished stone tools and lived in caves or temporary shelters. Fire was discovered and used for cooking and protection. This period shows the beginning of human culture and survival skills.
Mesolithic Age (Middle Stone Age):
The Mesolithic Age followed the Paleolithic Age, roughly from 10,000 BCE to 8,000 BCE (in some regions longer). It is considered a transitional phase between hunting-gathering and settled life. People started using microliths (small, sharp stone tools), and there was improvement in hunting techniques. They also began domesticating animals, fishing, and forming small settlements. This period marks the gradual shift toward agriculture.
