Unit 7 Assignment Directions: Case Scenario: Configuration Management Plan (CMP) Document Creation

    Step 1: Scenario:

Right after you receive your cybersecurity degree, you receive an offer letter from the payroll department of a U.S. federal agency to work as a cybersecurity consultant. Upon briefing, you are told they do not have a well-established configuration management plan (CMP) document. The absence of a complete CMP will impede the agencys ability to coordinate, track, and manage change to the baseline of an applications configurable items (CIs).

Below are the major issues you need to consider while creating a robust CMP (considering the one-week timeframe for this unit). From the list below, you will need to pick at least four areas and compile a 5- to 7-page CMP document that addresses a plan for them. Remember to refer to Unit 1 learning resources as necessary and feel free to explore outside resources as needed.

    1. No service level agreement (SLA) during deployment, integration, change requests
    2. Absence of a change control board (CCB)
    3. No ticketing management system to track internal change requests (CRs)
    4. No central repository to control version revision for all IT assets (HW/SW/firmware)
    5. No default baseline configuration for HW/SW
    6. No auditing and accounting for any change requests
    7. No system development life cycle (SDLC) process
    8. Absence of development environment to test new HW/SW before getting deployed into the production environment
    9. Absence of roles and responsibilities to manage the change request workflow/process
    10. No formal change request form
    11. No IT service management (ITSM) ticketing system
    12. No priority for change request tickets (minor, standard, major, emergency)

You can incorporate other areas of CMP that were not listed above, based on your experiences as a cybersecurity professional.

    Template:…

Please see this to help guide you as you write about at least four areas for your CMP.

    Step 2:

    • Develop your configuration management plan (CMP) to address the specified limitations within the organization.
      • You can incorporate other areas of CMP that were not listed above.
    • The plan should be between 57 pages, not including the references or title page.
      • A project that is longer than 7 pages, not including the references or title page, will NOT BE ACCEPTED.
    • Please format your paper to be in 12-point Times New Roman font with 1 margins.
      • Please be sure to check your grammar and spelling too. UMGC has a lot of writing resources to support you; see them below.

Harbor Health Clinics is looking to digitize its patient records management system. With clinics located throughout various neighborhoods and providing healthcare for thousands of patients, accurate yet efficient data entry processes must be implemented quickly to avoid misentries that compromise patient care, violate regulations, or incur costly correction costs.

Chapter 15 of your textbook provided an in-depth exploration of key principles to creating efficient data entry procedures, including:

Field Validations: Verify that the data entered aligns with expected formats and value ranges. User Feedback: Prompt and clear indicators should be given to inform users about successful entries or errors as soon as they occur. Sequential Flow: Logical sequence of data entry fields to mimic natural workflows.

Auto-fill & Predictive Text: Leveraging technology to reduce manual input.

User Training & Guidelines: Offering clear instructions and training to users to reduce errors.

Assignment: Utilizing the teachings of Chapter 15, your task is to create a data entry procedure for Harbor Health Clinics’ new patient records management system. Your design should prioritize accuracy to protect patient safety while still speeding up processing without jeopardizing data integrity.

    Instructions:

Detail the sequence and structure of data entry fields (e.g., Patient Name, Date of Birth, Medical History, Current Medications, and Allergies). And design field validations at each data entry point to ensure consistency and accuracy.

Implement user feedback mechanisms into your procedure to provide users with instantaneous notifications of successful entries or mistakes, as well as data entry systems like auto-fill or predictive text to ease the data entry process.

Draft a short set of user guidelines or instructions to accompany the data entry process.

Design Exercise for designing the user interface for an electronic library system

    Scenario:

The Metropolitan City Library has decided to move into the digital era and offer its members an extensive collection of e-books, journals, and audiobooks via an E-Library platform accessible both via web and mobile interfaces. As many older members are still transitioning into this new age of technology, its design must be user-friendly while supporting positive human-computer interactions.

Chapter 14 of your textbook covered key principles of human-computer interaction, such as:

Cognitive Load: Design should reduce the mental effort required of users. Feedback: Users should receive clear signals or responses after performing actions. Consistency: Common actions and symbols should remain consistent across interfaces.

Error Prevention and Recovery: To minimize user errors while allowing for effortless correction.

Assignment: Utilizing the principles outlined in Chapter 14, your task is to develop an intuitive user interface for an E-Library system. Your design should consider both experienced library patrons as well as those new to digital libraries.

Instructions: Start by sketching or digitally designing the main interface page, including sections such as ‘Latest Arrivals”, “Search Bar”, My Collection”, and Help Center”. Your design must take into account devices like desktop computers, tablets, and mobile phones.

Implement design elements that reflect the principles of human-computer interaction outlined in Chapter 14. Create a short document explaining your design choices, emphasizing how they correspond with these principles.

Submit your user interface design alongside an explanatory document for evaluation, making sure it satisfies the requirements of the scenario and displays your understanding of human-computer interaction principles (LO1, LO2, LO3 & LO4).

  • Enhancing planning and constraint satisfaction capabilities…

I am a postgraduate student in the MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning (University of West Attica) and my thesis is titled:

Enhancing Planning and Constraint Satisfaction Capabilities in Large Language Model Agents: An Experimental Study Using the TravelPlanner Benchmark.

The thesis is experimental and implementation-oriented and is based on the official TravelPlanner repository (

    ).

    The main objectives are:

Evaluation of a single-agent baseline on the benchmark.

Design and implementation of a multi-agent workflow (e.g., planner, verifier, refinement loop).

Systematic and fair experimental comparison between single-agent and multi-agent approaches.

Formulation of a clear experimental matrix (models policies budgets seeds metrics).

Statistical documentation of results (multiple seeds, mean std and, where required, significance testing).

Limited ablation studies and failure analysis.

Investigation of the possibility of improving performance compared to the benchmark baseline results, under controlled and fair experimental conditions.

    Extension to multi-agent orchestration through a ready-made drag-and-drop tool (e.g., Waldiez framework).

    Important technical clarification:

The implementation will be based exclusively on open or freely accessible LLM models (e.g., NVIDIA-hosted open models or similar). I do not wish to use commercial APIs with per-call charges.

Additionally, in the official repository the postprocess/parsing (conversion of the natural language plan into structured JSON) is stated to potentially use GPT-4. I would like to agree from the outset on a no-paid-API mode, meaning:

Either replacing the parsing component with an open/free LLM,

    Or implementing deterministic/constrained JSON parsing,

so that no commercial API key is required at any stage (agent run, postprocess, or evaluation).

    Proposed Hybrid Collaboration Model:

I am not seeking full outsourcing of the thesis, but rather collaboration with a clear division of responsibilities.

    Phase 1 Initial Technical Boost

Mapping and proper setup of the repository

    Configuration of the experimental matrix

    Design of the multi-agent architecture

Creation of a minimal reproducible pipeline (validation subset)

    Configuration of no-paid-API mode

    Structuring of the methodology chapter

    Phase 2 Collaborative Implementation

I will personally undertake the execution of experiments and basic parameter tuning

You will provide scientific review of the results

    Guidance on statistical analysis

Support in writing the technical chapters

Support for revisions following supervisor feedback, within the agreed scope

For clarity, I would appreciate if the offer includes:

A total fixed cost for the above hybrid model

A clear description of deliverables per phase

    An indicative timeline with checkpoints

Explicit reference to the number of revision cycles included

A clear definition of what is considered outside the agreed scope

Confirmation that there will be no additional charges for in-scope adjustments

Delivery of fully editable code with execution instructions (README)

Clarification of the academic background of the collaborator who will provide the technical guidance

I would like to ensure that the collaboration framework will be genuinely supportive and interactive, as I wish to have active participation and full understanding of the implementation. Specifically, I would like to confirm that:

The code will be delivered in fully editable form (structured repository with README and execution instructions).

I will be able to run and modify the code throughout the collaboration.

There will be intermediate deliveries (e.g., Phase 1 setup) before final completion.

Specific revision cycles following supervisor feedback will be included within the agreed scope.

At least 12 technical online sessions will take place for a walkthrough of the code and experimental design.

The implementation will function fully without the use of commercial per-call APIs (no-paid-API mode), as stated above.

There will be no additional charges for adjustments that fall within the agreed experimental framework.
