Identify a social problem or crime-based issue that you could apply one or more individual level theory to currently. The theories you identify and select do not have to be isolated strictly to criminology, you can use theories found in other fields (psychology, education, etc.); however, you do need to fully explain your reasoning behind the selection and implementation of the theories you will use to address your identified question/issue. Moreover, please identify and explain the key factors that surround your identified problem and how you would address those factors. You can think of this assignment as a technical report or brief that you would provide to stakeholders in a meeting or other public forum. Your submission must be a minimum of 1,000 words and include at least 5 references using APA format.

Utilizing key concepts from your courses and outside sources, please address the following for each of the three concerns/issues you identified:

• Identify and define concerns/issues that are impacting your profession and/or organization, with examples.
• Evaluate why these factors are important to consider.
• Examine strategies to mitigate the identified concerns/issues (i.e., best practices in the field, policies, training, employee feedback, etc.)

Do some independent research and explain the different types of ‘hackers’ and the behavior of each type. Discuss some of the technological advances that have come as a result of ‘hacking.’ Given such advances, discuss your view on the idea that some level of ‘hacking’ current technologies is a necessity.

Regarding the Aaron Swartz story and case, discuss your views on the actions of Aaron Swartz, the university and the prosecutors.
