Assignment Instructions Intelligence and Achievement Paper This week we began exploring the applications of psychological testing in the educational setting. In this exercise, you will use a standard psychological reference to evaluate the psychometric properties of 1 intelligence test and 1 achievement test. Imagine you are a teacher at a local high school and have been asked to evaluate an intelligence test and achievement test. You will present your findings to your colleagues at the school. Select 1 assessment of intelligence and 1 assessment of academic achievement to evaluate using the Mental Measurements Yearbook from the University Library. Access and read each test by following these steps: Click on Publications at the top of the University Library page. Type Mental Measurements Yearbook into the search box. Click on Mental Measurements Yearbook with Tests in Print and access the full text. Use the EBSCOhost search engine within the Mental Measurements Yearbook to research assessments of intelligence and academic achievement. Enter the name of the test you would like to review into the search box to open a specific test. If you do not have a specific test in mind, conduct a search for intelligence and academic achievement to view a list of existing assessments to research. Or, you may use the Advanced Search link and select the TI Test name or SU Test Category fields to search for these keywords. Keep in mind that the full text for all tests may not be available in this database. Write a 500-word description of each of your tests using information from the Mental Measurements Yearbook in which you: Include a general description of your test. Evaluate each test for normative procedures, reliability, validity, and bias. Format your assignment according to APA guidelines. Submit your assignment.

Assignment Instructions Psychometrics is a broad term used to define the theory behind the use and practice of psychological assessments. Psychological assessments comprise the measurement of psychological constructs and how that information is used in a clinical setting to help formulate the clinical case and make treatment decisions. Psychometrics is also used in a forensic setting to answer questions about a person involved in the legal system, such as criminal prosecution or for a civil matter (e.g., custody dispute). Data from psychological assessments is also used to improve efficiency and overall functioning in an organizational setting. Construct Development and Test Creation Paper Throughout Weeks 3 and 4, we explored the properties of psychometric assessments. For this assignment, you will apply those principles to develop your own test to measure a psychological construct. Imagine you are working as a research assistant and have been asked to develop a measurement construct to solve a problem or collect data. Choose a construct you would like to measure (depression, anxiety, etc.). Create an operational definition of your construct using at least 3 peer-reviewed journal articles as references (you can use the DSM as a scholarly source to define your construct, but please do not use websites). Create a 10-question test to measure the construct. Write a 1,250- to 1,400-word analysis in which you: Justify whether this is an interview or self-report instrument and the method of scaling you used to create the test items.
