  • Source Evaluation

    Instructions

    Goal:

The goal of the Week 5 Assignment is to find quality sources that relate to your topic and can be used later in an academic setting.

    Description:

During the Week 3 Assignment, you chose a topic and brainstormed (ATTACHED BELOW). In Weeks 1-5, you have learned most of the Big6 Model and how to find, evaluate, and use information. Now it is time to take that knowledge and locate and evaluate sources that you will use in the Week 7 Final Project.

Step 1: Download the Source Evaluation Worksheet (ATTACHED BELOW)

    Step 2: Complete the Worksheet

    • Fill out the worksheet completely.
    • Find a minimum of three sources. One source must be an academic source from the APUS Library, and the other sources must be credible and appropriate for college research.
    • Please include robust source summaries in your own words that explain the contents of the sources and the relevance of the source to your topic.

Step 3: Submit the Completed Week 5 Worksheet

    Assignment Guidelines

    • Use the Source Evaluation Worksheet.
    • Read all of the Learning Material in Weeks 1 – 5.
    • Make sure you followed the directions carefully and each source is fully described.
    • Thoroughly edit. One way to catch mistakes is by reading it out loud a minimum of three times.
    • Your submission will go through Turnitin and the AI Detector.
    • Please double-check that your assignment was submitted.

  • Game analysis

    1. Introduction (2 points) Choose two games from different genres (e.g., first-person adventure & 2D puzzle game) Briefly explain why you selected these specific games (max 100 words per game) 2. Analysis (8 points / 4 points per game) Fantasy Layer: Identify the core fantasy and evaluate how effectively it’s delivered Action Layer: Break down the primary gameplay loops and their connection to the fantasy Economy Layer: Analyze the resource systems and their integration World Layer: Examine the environmental storytelling and world design Story Layer: Evaluate how narrative elements support other layers 3. Comparative Analysis (6 points) Compare how each game prioritizes different layers of the stack Identify which layers are dominant in each game and why Discuss how this affects the overall player experience 4. Critical Improvement Proposal (4 points) Select ONE layer from ONE of the games Propose a specific improvement that would strengthen that layer Explain how this improvement would affect the other layers Deliverable: Written document, 1500-2000 words (PDF only). Include screenshots or diagrams to support your analysis.

  • Research Paper on Digital Governments and Farmer-Oriented Pu…

    Guidelines:

    Research focus

This paper aims to analyze how digital government platforms provide public services oriented to farmers and rural citizens, through a comparative international case study of national government portals.

    Core research question

How do different digital governments structure and deliver public services targeted at farmers, and what global trends emerge in the digitalization of rural public services?

    Methodological workflow

    Step 1 Countries selection

    • Define the country sample based on the Digital Government Index (DGI) from the OECD and related literature.
    • Selection criteria may include:
    • Level of digital government maturity
    • Economic relevance of agriculture
    • Existence of a centralized national portal
    • Availability of digital services for rural users

Step 2 Identification of platforms and services

    • Access national digital government portals (e.g. gov.br, gov.uk, gov.pt).
    • Locate sections, user profiles, or themes related to:
    • Agriculture, farming, rural development, land, environment

    Map farmer-oriented services, recording:

    • Responsible agency
    • Policy area (credit, environment, registration, training, etc.)
    • Access type (informational vs. transactional)

    Step 3 Analytical framework

Analyze services using standardized dimensions, such as:

    • Type of service (informational, transactional, integrated)
    • Degree of digitalization (partial vs. fully digital)
    • Targeting of farmers/rural users (explicit or implicit)
    • Level of platform integration (single service vs. cross-agency)

Step 4 Comparative synthesis and visualization

    Produce comparative outputs, including:

    • Tables comparing countries and service categories
    • Frequency charts of service types
    • Visual summaries of platform organization models
    • Use spreadsheets (Excel / Google Sheets / CSV) to ensure transparency and replicability.

    Recommended structure of the paper

    1. Introduction Digital government and rural service delivery; research gap
    2. Theoretical framework Digital government, service delivery, state capacity
    3. Methodology Case selection, data collection, analytical dimensions
    4. Results Description and comparison of platforms and services
    5. Discussion Global trends, convergence/divergence, policy implications
    6. Conclusion Contributions, limitations, future research agenda

    Expected outputs

    1. Full research paper, formatted according to high-impact international journals.
    2. Dataset and visual synthesis, including comparative tables and charts, suitable as supplementary material.
