Meditate on the four chapters of 2 Timothy. Using Pauls role as a teacher to Timothy, create a thread debating a topic that relates to the role of teachers in the 21st century. Using scripture as your background, and considering information studied over the past weeks (Disruptive Innovation, The 21st Century Skills Movement, the use of technology and its impact on teaching and learning, Clayton Christensens ideas, etc.), you will be assigned to argue either in support or against the pre-determined topic:
- What are digital immigrants and digital natives? Are there major differences between digital immigrants and digital natives? Do the similarities and/or differences affect the ability to educate? How?
As you form your thoughts for your side of the debate, closely consider teachers in the 21st Century. Consider components of the educational system that are tried and true, which remain the same. Alternatively, ponder those systems that have transformed over time as we adopt the ways of 21st-century living. Use the assigned textbook, the Bible readings, presentations, and any approved websites to connect scriptural teaching to your studies.
