Introductions and Adding Exercise to Your Life

All discussions must be submitted by the closing dates. I do not accept late discussions.

    1. Please introduce yourself to the class. You may talk about what you are majoring in, how many years you have been in college, where you are from, what your interests and hobbies are, etc. (5 points)
    2. Throughout this course, you are required to engage in physical fitness activities. Many Americans do not exercise at the recommended levels necessary to improve their health. The 10 most common reasons adults are not active are listed below.
  • Do not have enough time to exercise.
    Find it inconvenient to exercise.
    Lack of self-motivation.
    Do not find exercise enjoyable.
    Find exercise boring.
Lack of confidence in their ability to be physically active.
Fear being injured or have been injured recently.
Lack of self-management skills, such as setting personal goals, monitoring progress, or rewarding progress toward such goals.
Lack of encouragement, support, or companionship from family and friends.
Do not have parks, sidewalks, bicycle trails, or safe and pleasant walking paths convenient to their homes or offices.
  • Answer the following questions. Write a minimum of three sentences for each answer. Please grammar and spell-check your work before submitting it. (5 Points)

Do you exercise 3-5 times per week?

If your answer is yes and you do exercise 3-5 times per week:
What kind of exercise do you do?
    What motivates you to exercise?
How can you inspire others to exercise?

If your answer is no and you do not exercise 3-5 times per week:
What are two reasons you do not exercise?
For each reason, give two suggestions on how you can overcome your barriers to physical activity.

  • Writing Project 1- Essay (textual analysis of an excerpt fro…

Hello, hope all is well, I read your reviews and description and it looked great! My essay that I need your help with writing/making is a writing project that will be a textual analysis of an excerpt of my choosing from one of the literary texts I read for class: I will attach the rubric, the literary text, my chosen quote, an outline I have created to help you, and a sample that the professor provided us, as well as add it here in the instructions. My chosen text is: Donna Haraway, Staying with the Trouble. My chosen quote from it is: Staying with the trouble does not require such a relationship to times called the future. In fact, staying with the trouble requires learning to be truly present, not as a vanishing pivot between awful or edenic pasts and apocalyptic or salvific futures, but as mortal critters entwined in myriad unfinished configurations of places, times, matters, meanings. Instructions: choose a short excerpt from one of our texts and construct an analysis of how it speaks to the text as a whole. (Already done this) Chosen text is: Donna Haraway, Staying with the Trouble which I have attached as a file Your essay should include: a title a block text quote of what you will be analyzing an introduction that situates the excerpt body paragraphs that draw examples from the text for analysis a conclusion connecting your analysis back to the “big picture” (of the whole text and the course). *(The courses topic is highly focused on Speculative Ecofiction) The essay should be 900-1200 words (about 3-4 pages long), double spaced (except for the block quote), 12-point font, etc. Please follow appropriate MLA format for in-text citations. • pilot paper

Your Pilot Paper is a persuasive essay that will display your interpretation of a

film, piece of literature, television show, videogame, etc. Basically, you can write about

any piece of art that has impacted you in a meaningful way (this will make it easier to

provide a sense of catharsis). You will discuss the major aspect and ultimate meaning/s

Your paper must demonstrate your ability to read and write critically. That means

that you should be writing about different aspects of the art, such as point of view, visual

and auditory aesthetics, plot, characters, setting, tone and style, structure, symbolism and

allegory, and ideas and themes. Use these in roads to develop your interpretation of the

art, since you will need to demonstrate how the aspects that you choose to focus on

support your individual interpretation. You should be using specific examples and

quotations from the art as well.

The paper will be between 2-3 pages long. Proper grammar and sentence structure

should be present throughout. As with all of your essays, use 12-point Times New

Discussion Post Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP)

Teacher Chosen: The teacher doing the block-building activity.

I chose the teacher who worked with the children during the block-building lesson. Her teaching showed Developmentally Appropriate Practice because she planned the activity based on what young children usually need and enjoy at this age. She understood that preschoolers learn best through hands-on play, experimenting, and using their imagination. Building with blocks helps children develop problem-solving skills, balance, spatial awareness, and early math concepts. Because she knew these are common parts of childrens development, she set up an open and inviting play area with many kinds of blocks so the children could explore and learn naturally.

The teacher also used her knowledge of individual appropriateness. She didnt treat all the children the same. Instead, she paid attention to what each child was doing and what they were ready for. For example, if a child was just learning how to stack blocks, she offered simple support and encouragement. For a child building a more complicated structure, she asked deeper questions like, How can you make it stronger? This showed that she knew each childs skill level and adjusted her help to match their needs.

For social and cultural contexts, the video didnt show a strong cultural connection, but the teacher could easily make one. She could ask questions like, What buildings do you see in your neighborhood? or Does this look like a place your family visits? She could even add pictures of homes, stores, or landmarks from the childrens backgrounds. This would help the activity connect to their home lives and cultures.
