Create an annotated bibliography based on your approved research topic. Step 1: Use the 3 credible sources from your “Finding Sources and Completing the CRAAP Test” and the “Quoting, Paraphrasing, and Summarizing” (these should be the same sources) for your supporting evidence paragraphs. Step 2 Create your annotated bibliography. Once you have selected your resources, create a document that includes the following for each resource. Author(s), date of publication, title, and source type. A summary (at least five sentences) of the source. What is it about? What are the main points? What conclusions are reached, and how are they supported? Why is this source useful or relevant to your topic? How might you use it to support an argument of your own? All answers should be written in complete sentences, and MLA 9th edition format should be used when writing your responses. You MUST write each sources summary in your own words. Do NOT copy word-for-word from the articles abstract. Plagiarism will not be tolerated. Please use this template or format as shown in the example below it. Your annotated bibliography must be formatted as such. -

Make sure to answer all these questions in the artist statement
Consider asking yourself these questions:
What am I doing?
How am I doing it?
Why am I doing it?
What influences me most?
How does my art relate to the art of my contemporaries?
What do I want other people to understand about my art?
Am I unwilling to discuss any aspects of my work? If so, why?
Down below I’ve attached some files of and photo of my artwork that you need to talk just little bit in the artist statement. Make sure to look Entry #2 file and Journal Week 2. I’m pretty much already answered all the questions you just need to add more things and turn it into full essay artist statement. For a file titled Artist Statement is the example of the essay it’s not a good sample and there’s Artist Statement-Writing in Art_Introduction- 1.pdf are also the sample of it.

I’m going to give you feedback on your artist statement as a reader response so that way you can use it to do your final revision so there’s a lot of good things in this but there’s some things that we also need to work on and revise as well so the biggest thing I’m going to talk about is your argument so in your first paragraph it looks like you want your argument to be when they meeting the the viewer listen to a song I want the viewers to feel the same thing when they see it art to me as language that does not require words in interpretation so since this is an artist statement it should be more along the lines of why should your art matter or why should people look at your art so I think that you explain that a little bit better in the to me individuals may exist in more than one place and identity simultaneously and that’s what my artistic practices based on so maybe something more along the lines of you want people to understand the Multicultural flow as you put it in that same paragraph that individuals have and to for them to understand that so maybe you can revise your argument to as such and then that will be a little bit more clear and concise and then as far as the rest of it we have do you have this connection to music which I think is fine and then you say that you have a recycled use materials so you’re talking about the mediums that you use you compare it to Music Creation so that’s kind of like your process and you have a little bit about like the emotion that you want them to understand but you have a lot of ideas here and I want to make sure that you are answering the you know how does your art relate to the art of your contemporaries you do have what influences you which is your culture and music and being Indonesian but I think that it would be best if you were a little bit more specific about that so maybe you can talk about your process of making the particular piece that you put a picture of and you can answer more specifically you know what are you doing how am I doing it why am I doing it give us more specifics about that particular piece and then how it shows that duality of cultures that you’re talking about and so that way instead of just all these ideas and these generalities you have something more specific there so that way we have an example that we can anchor ourselves in and then make sure you are addressing that question of how does your art relate to the art of your contemporaries so that way we have that answered as well.

Bashar Phil 115
Week 1: What is Philosophy
Early philosophers asked what the world is really made of and whether there is order behind change. Why do you think humans across cultures begin by asking these kinds of questions? What questions about reality or meaning have you wondered about, even as a child?
Example 1
I Like how the video explains what is stuff. How past philosopher’s were not scientist but used theories why things were the way they were. I myself have asked many questions on why things are the way they are based on my own experiences and thoughts. Having lived and half life I know there is so much more to understand and to think about. When I was younger religion gave me the answers to much of lifes difficult questions, why are we here and what is my purpose, however, now that I am an adult with more experience I get to make those decisions myself.
In my twenties I found myself in an interesting thought pattern. I had what some would call a NDE and remembered much of the experience. I kept much to myself because of how it differed from my current understanding of my religion at the time. It threw me in for a loop and wanted to understand more about this life and life in general. With my newfound curiousness I found myself in a situation that because of the reason of my NDE, I found myself at a loss of my current living situation. The loss of my job, house, transportation, and everything that I had worked hard for was gone. I was able to see life with a new lens. Start new, fresh, without much support if any from my friends or family. I questioned reality and how humans treat each other. After I regained use of my limbs I struggled like many do and started college only to find I was not yet ready for it. I would jump from job to job trying to understand the why. I found my calling in the military and enjoyed my time and service there. Combat allowed me to see things with a different lens and why people are so quick to take a life was beyond me. My questions are not so much what is my purpose but rather, how can I add value in this life while sustaining being a father. Why was I able to remember so much from my NDE and what will I use my capacity for? I landed on quantum Sentience as my purpose and to work towards understanding what that my be. There is much to learn and I hope I can pull from the past, whether it be mine or someone elses to help identify what future we are all going to be part of as time continues to make a mark on us.
Example 2
I think philosophy as a whole especially in the way it has been covered in these first readings/video can only appear in a society in which the people have time to think. Downtime from other activities and have stories which talk about the start of existence or life itself. I think people across so many cultures start asking kinds of questions like “what makes us alive?” or “do we have a soul?” is because we as humans want to know, just in general and with mythology back in the days of Thales and Anaximander it certainly would push people to think on why our world works as it does and if there is order in what we perceive many times as chaos. I think the fact that atoms where even thought about as an answer so long ago is very jarring and impressive also interesting that Thales theory on water being everything is somewhat accurate in the sense of how important water is for many things in this world. I as a child wondered what was the point of life and what is it’s meaning. Also why space is so dangerous and honestly how outer space as a whole works and its purpose.

Taysir/ one music
*** answer this discussion for two students
Discussion 1
Music Important To You
Write a little bit about music (an artist, album, or song) that you find especially interesting or has personal importance to you. Try to use some of the terminology from this week to describe what you hear that is interesting (timbre, groove, harmony, etc.). If discussing lyrics, think about how they reflect that tie period/year, etc (don’t give a summary of the lyrics). Provide a link or embed the video into your response.
Example 1:
I would say as Im getting older. Ive been listening to a lot more music and started to understand what songs really mean a lot more. One song I have been really into recently is “You Broke My Heart” by Current Joys. This song feels so nostalgic, and it came out in the year 2013. Its important to me because of the melody. I dont know why, but its so repetitive in my brain, and every time I hear it, it just makes me feel something. I wouldnt say the lyrics, but definitely the way the guitar sounds and the drums just feel so addictive to me, and I can just listen to it on repeat. I can just blast this song every time I drive at night, no matter what. This song itself just makes me want to learn to play the guitar so I can play it.
Example 2
One song that Im particularly fond of is Gorge Harrisons My Sweet Lord. The Harmony of the song feels very spiritual driven and nostalgic, which are supported by both the mid-temp flow of the guitar as well as the lyrics in which he states bad he wants to be with the lord. This song was preformed in the 1970s, a major time for the world since the US has been at war with Vietnam, causing a rise of Anti-war protests. This song has brought values of religion and peace to encourage optimistic views of those affected by the war as well as the ones who were protesting against the violence that was happening. This song brings so much importance to me as it encourages me to overpower all that is happening in the world, giving a sense of relief at a time that feels suffocating with hardships.

Example 3
I would say music has become more important to me as i have gotten older, i feel the more you start to understand and really sit back and listen to what words are being said and expressed in different songs it really and truly shows how someone feels without saying it exactly! Country music is for sure one of my top types of music i always will listen to it on the way to the beach or even watching sunsets. I think groove and harmony is very interesting in all different songs, one song that i really find apleing would have to be Morgan Wallen’s new album or even treaty oak. Both of these artist never write a bad song, at first i am not use to it but the more it plays and goes along it gets catch and really speaks for its self.
