  • Should exergaming be standard practice in physical therapy.

    Paper View

Should exergaming be integrated as part of physical therapy rehabilitation?

    (Exergaming is a video game-based)

Your Position: I think it should be part of a person’s journey because it will increase patient motivation and increase patients’s adherence to their home exercise plan. Which may lead to fast recovery if used in combination with the traditional therapy. In addition, it can reduce staff workload and increase overall productivity.

Why It Matters: It matters because many patients are either struggling to finish their rehabilitation plans or stop them completely, and that adds to healthcare costs. Exergaming can also provide access to people in rural areas and those with limited transportation. Additionally, children and the elderly can benefit from being engaged in an interactive approach to physical therapy. Also, it matters because improving rehabilitation can lead to an outcome that will lead to an independent and better quality of life.

Evidence Plan: To support my argument, I’m planning to use peer-reviewed clinical studies that examine exergamings impact on mobility, fall prevention, and neuroplasticity, which is the brains ability to reorganize and adapt after injury. I will also reference research on patient adherence, motivation, and telerehabilitation outcomes to evaluate both the benefits and potential concerns related to cost, accessibility, and implementation.

The essay on the Problem of the Criterion, focusing on whether we can establish standards of knowledge without falling into circular reasoning. I plan to defend Roderick Chisholms particularist response, arguing that it provides a more workable starting point for inquiry than the skeptical suspension of judgment proposed by Sextus Empiricus.

Gabi ~ Strong Lines from July, August, and September Journals

Gabi ~ July, August, and September JournalsOverview — Step One:

This week, we are adding a layer to the idea of strong lines. This next layer is called The Three I’s Method.

    The Three I’s Method:

    • Introduce- Cite Source – Title and Author
    • Integrate – Direct Quote with Page Number(s) – 2 Sentences Minimum / 4 Sentences Maximum
    • Interpret – Three Sentences of Commentary – Why You Are Using the Quote

Example (Highlighted to Show the Different Steps):

In the August 5th journal from Gabi: A Girl in Pieces by Isabel Quintero, Gabi, the main character, writes an entry about her friend Sebastian. Gabi writes, “Sebastian told me about how close he felt to his dad now and that he thought that he would tell him about being gay and that he was sure he would understand. I’m not too sure about that. His dad may be cool with him because they threw back a few beers, but his dad hates gays. I know. I’ve heard him say it” (18). The quote reveals how Gabi fears for Sebastian because she has heard Sebastian’s father use derogatory language about the LGBTQ+ community. Sebastian is lucky to have Gabi in his life as a friend and an ally. She accepts him unconditionally. This particular quote ties into our screening of La Mission. Che had a great relationship with his son, Jesse, until Che found out Jesse is gay. It also ties into our overall theme because of the fragmentation Sebastian must be feeling having to hide his true identity from his family for fear of not being accepted.

    Overview — Step Two:

    1. Introduce journal month and day, title and author.
    2. Choose a set of strong lines with at least two full sentences from Gabi ~ July, August, or September Journals that impact you. Keep the word groups (quotes) together. You do not have to pull only from the dialogue portions. There is so much richness and vivid detail outside of the dialogue.
    3. Tell me WHY the strong lines you chose impact you with at least three sentences. No short choppy sentences. Lengthen your work, students.
    4. Post by Tuesday evening, March 10, 2026 no later than 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Although you may submit until Wednesday, March 11, 2026 no later than 12:00 p.m. (NOON) Pacific Time with no penalty. Remember: Book was listed in our Welcome Letter sent before our semester began. Our SBVC Library has a few copies to check out and a few more copies to check out and use in house.
    5. The goal is to continue practicing The Three I’s Method.

25 Points Possible — One set of Strong Lines from Gabi’s ~ July, August, or September Journals (Two Sentences Minimum)

75 Points Possible — Commentary (Three Sentences Minimum)

this assignment will be in steps which will eventually lead to an essay; this is based on a book. Would you be able to assist with this assignment?

  • WEEK 9 DISCUSSION ETHICS

Stem cells are undifferentiated, primitive cells with the ability both to multiply and to differentiate into specific kinds of cells. Stem cells hold the promise of allowing researchers to grow specialized cells or tissue, which could be used to treat injuries or disease (e.g., spinal cord injuries, Parkinsons disease, Alzheimers disease, diabetes, strokes, burns).” (Slevin, 2010)

Choose ONE of the following issues and post to its thread with supporting evidence and one of the acceptable theories per the videos –

    1. Discuss what you feel are the potential benefits of stem cell research for Alzheimer’s patients and their families.
    2. Share your perspective on the stem cell debate regarding donation of surplus embryos to couples for embryo adoption.
    3. Why is the task of disposing unused frozen human embryos different from disposing of other medical tissue?
    4. Discuss why you think embryonic stem cell research crosses a moral boundary.
