This paper should be 3-5 pages long.
The Assignment: Almost all Research Projects start with sources that spark an interest in a topic. Those articles can inform a reader about a topic thats new to them; they could present new information about a topic the reader is already familiar with; and/or they could ignite a response so strong in the reader that they must become part of the conversation. You will come to your research project by first finding four sources that pique your interest in a specific topic and inspire you to immerse yourself into the conversation at hand. Then you will synthesize those sources to establish the various sides of one specific topic. Before you can write this essay, you will need to find FOUR sources relating to your topic.
Before you can truly begin to dive deeply into a research project, you must have some kind of understanding of the topic/issue and an idea of what you want to say about the topic/issue. This FIRE assignment is meant to help you gather your thoughts and articulate them so your research and writing processes can be more focused. Also, the proposal will let me know how I can best assist with the work ahead of you and keep you on the right track.
The Components: First, you will have an introduction paragraph that clearly states the topic you will focus on in your Research Essay. You also need to explain why this topic and the sources appeal to you, what you already knew about the topic, and why you are choosing to research this topic. (1-2 paragraphs total)
Then, you will briefly critique your four articles by providing a brief summary paragraph for EACH source explaining the content, considering how the author(s) wrote the articles to convey his/her ideas (think criteria and CONTEXT!), while also addressing any flaws/drawbacks in the articles. (4 paragraphs total)
Next, you will clearly state the relationship between the sources; the articles should present DIFFERING sides on the topic at hand. In order to show the varying positions one can take regarding this issue, you will need to find AND SYNTHESIZE sources that show all of these sides. A truly debatable issue will have more than two opposing sides, and its your job as the Researcher to find and present all of those sides; you will research beyond the black and white of the issue and investigate all of the gray thats in-between. Therefore, this section of the essay should be at least a couple of paragraphs in length. These body paragraphs MUST include direct quotations from your four sources and source synthesis. It is your responsibility to demonstrate how these sources agree with, elaborate upon, and disagree with one another to create a complex, debatable issue. (2-4 paragraphs total)
The conclusion (which will be more than one paragraph!) will present the position you will choose to argue in your Research Essay. In other words, after showing the multiple sides of the issue, you will select a position that aligns with your beliefs and values. You will briefly state why you chose this position over the others presented and how you will plan on arguing this position in your research paper. Also, you will need to address the ways in which you will contribute something new to the argument at hand. Do you have a solution that no one has thought of to the problem at hand? Is there a main cause to a phenomenon that hasnt been considered before? Do you have claims that support the argument from a new perspective? How will your Research Essay (Assignment #3!) bring something new to an issue that might not be so new? Be sure to state WHO the audience for your Research Essay will be. (2-3 paragraphs total)
Of course, your paper should include proper in-text MLA citations and Works Cited page.

For Asignment #2, I decided to write about the importace of stretching for athletic peformance and injury prevention. Mainly, talking about wheather static stretching before a game/practice, helps or harms your body/peformance. Some coaches say long pre-game stretches, while others say dynamic warmups are more effective. So, bascially my arguement will explore if traditional static stretching should be replaced with dynamic stretching routines for athletes. I have a lot of personal experience with this topic, being on both type of a coaches team I’ve been a victim of dynamic and static stretching. The Discipline of the 6 A.M. Gym Community
The main idea is that I wake up at 5 am to start working out at 6 am. and its about me helping out the community by going to the gym at that time and helping people with their workouts and diets but mainly describing the idea of why I go at that time.
