With respect to the environmental health hazard that you analyzed in previous milestone projects (Lead) compare the strategies used within public health, healthcare, and regulatory systems at both the (1) national and (2) international levels. Use the table provided in the Comparison of Strategy Effectiveness section of the template to form your response. As you complete this table, please focus on the organization, structure and function of the environmental health strategies pertaining to your environmental chemical hazard topic (for example, federal or international regulatory programs, guidelines, and authorities that control environmental health issues).
      2. Identifying Strategies and Corresponding Needs. Communities need to prepare for any kind of disaster. Chemical hazards can present violent and deadly episodes. It is important to have an effective strategy to deal with any chemical hazard and its potential health risks. Assume that your chosen chemical hazard exists in your community and the health issue you have identified could occur. Review your findings and identify the best set of strategies for your community. Summarize your findings and be certain to provide the following information:
        • List three possible strategies that would reduce the effect of the hazard on the communitys health.
        • Describe what the community would need to implement each strategy.
      3. Assets and Capacities. Once the needs are identified, consider what assets exist in your community. A list of assets and capacities provides information about the strengths and resources of a community. Once community strengths and resources are inventoried and listed, you can more easily think about how to build on these assets to address community needs and improve health. A community asset is anything that can help address an issue impacting a community or individual in that community, and its capacity is how much it can help or serve. Assets and capacities can be used to improve a public health challenge. Regarding the environmental health issue you identified at the beginning of the course, the Milestone Three assignment requires you to identify assets and capacities that can assist in implementing the strategies you have identified. For example, you identified a strategy for communicating information about the health hazard throughout a particular area in the community. An asset might be the local church with a sophisticated network of volunteers that has the capacity to help carry out a communication plan.
        • Create a list of four community assets you recommend helping implement the identified strategy. Describe each potential asset in a few sentences. Then describe what you imagine to be the possible capacity of each asset.
