Healthcare leaders must make sure that personal, confidential, and sensitive patient information stays safe to prevent unauthorized access, misuse, and breaches. Even with safety measures in place, breaches can still happeneither on purpose or by accident. These breaches can affect patient safety, cause financial losses, and lead to legal problems for individuals or organizations. Protecting data privacy helps maintain patient trust and confidentiality.

Billing is a key part of managing money in a healthcare organization, known as revenue cycle management (RCM). This process begins when a patient makes an appointment and ends when the provider gets paid. For medical billing to work well, it is very important to have accurate and complete documentation during the patient visit. This involves changing medical procedures and diagnoses into codes, preparing and submitting claims, and resolving issues or denials to ensure that payments are received on time.
