Imagine that you are the director for a health care facility and you are tasked with leading the facility in converting their office to electronic health records. For this assignment, you will design a flowchart that outlines how you would use the system development life cycle to implement electronic health records. You will present this flowchart to other stakeholders in the organization to explain the business processes that will take place with the conversion. Please include the following information in your flowchart: Create a flowchart outlining how you would use the phases in the system development life cycle to implement electronic health records in a healthcare facility. The flowchart should include the 5 phases of the systems development life cycle. Within the flowchart, provide an explanation of how you will use each phase to implement an electronic health record. Within the flowchart, provide at least 2 examples of activities that would take place for each phase of the system development life cycle.

INSTRUCTIONS: Review the health spending data on how U.S. spending has changed over time. Choose one item (for example, health care spending over time, prescription drug costs, spending compared to other countries) and review the data in detail. Write a 1-page summary of the information you reviewed. Use the following bullet points as headings: Explain the topic you read about Give a recap of the most important figures Describe how a health policy analyst might use this information

  • Microbe

this assignment, you will role-play as a newly created microbe in a world filled with immune defenses, antibiotics, and other microbes competing for survival. Using your microbiology knowledge, you will design a pathogen, narrate its abilities, and determine outcomes using proposed dice rolls. This activity blends storytelling, problem-solving, and microbiological concepts in a game-inspired format.

    Instructions:

    1. Create Your Microbe and then Name it
    • Choose whether your microbe is a bacterium, virus, fungus, or parasite. Assign a scientific name.
    • Design its features using microbiology concepts:
    • Cell wall structure (Gram-positive, Gram-negative, acid-fast, none)
    • Virulence factors (capsule, pili, toxins, antigenic variation, etc.)
    • Mode of transmission (airborne, vector-borne, fecal-oral, direct contact)
    • Growth environment (aerobic/anaerobic, temperature range, host specificity)
    1. Narrate Strengths & Weaknesses
    • Describe what makes your microbe powerful (e.g., toxin production, immune evasion).
    • Identify weaknesses (e.g., vulnerable to heat, disinfectants, specific antibiotics, UV exposure).
    • Write this in a story-like narrative as if you are describing a character in a role-playing game.
    1. Dice-Based Action Scenarios
    • Propose using a six-sided die (d6) to determine your microbes success or failure in different encounters.
    • Suggest roll results and example scenarios based on strengths/weaknesses you described:
    • Immune Response Encounter: Roll a die.
    • (12):
    • (34):
    • (56):
    • Antibiotic Treatment Encounter: Roll a die.
    • (13):
    • (45):
    • (6):
    • Competition with Other Microbes: Roll a die to see if you outcompete the normal flora.

You must narrate the outcomes in a short story style, using the above examples for combining dice results with microbiology knowledge.

  • Article Review Presentation

This is for an article review presentation on the article: Enhancing the Innovation Ecosystem: Overcoming Challenges to Introducing Information-Driven Technologies in Health Care.

    Instuctions:

    1. Please write responses for the following questions (10-12 plus conclusion). (These questions are going to be added to a power point that others will contribute and response 1-9/ See the word file: Article Analysis Instructions to see all the questions)
    2. How do the weeks readings relate to each other? Do they differ on terminology, methodological approaches, or conclusions? Do they offer complementary knowledge?
    3. Can you apply this to your prior education or career experiences (and vice versa)?
    4. Who are the authors, and what are their backgrounds? Are they well known in the field, do they work at an established and well-regarded institution (e.g., university), do they have many related publications, awards? Or are the authors new blood?
    5. Conclusion (Recap of the questions 1-12 & added meaning aspects/ takeaway of the presentation for a summary/ See the word file: Article Analysis Instructions to see all the questions)
    6. This information will be moved to a power point. Please write the responses in comprehensive to be presented and displayed.
    7. Please read the article and make it relevant to it.
