  • International agreement paper

DHS works closely with international partners, including foreign governments, major multilateral organizations, and global businesses, to strengthen the homeland security of the United States. These agreements involve international trade, security, travel, and global economies. For example, DHS is engaged internationally and has stationed homeland personnel in over 75 foreign nations.

Select one of DHSs international agreements and provide background, the purpose and benefits of the agreement, the key stakeholders, and the terms of the agreement. In your conclusion, make a recommendation if DHS should remain in the agreement and if so, should the agreement be expanded.

    For background, review

You will prepare a six- to eight-page paper using the format specified in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (7th ed.) with six references.

    Note:

The link has important information that could be used for the type of agreement I need to choose (United States Department of Homeland security DHS Strengthen International Aviation Security)

A formal creative project proposal is required and shall be prepared in accordance with the standards of the academic discipline. The formal proposal must provide a clear and lucid description of a creative project and must include a discussion of how that project is situated within the discipline. The proposal should explain the goal and intent of the project and convince the professor that the project fits within the discipline, can be completed in the allotted time, and comports with discipline standards. Proposal drafting is considered a learning process and helps the student avoid oversights and possible mistakes. It should show that the student has read the relevant and recent literature on the subject, and contain a list of materials consulted during the preliminary stages of research. In general, the creative project proposal should include background information related to the project topic, the purpose of the project, and investigatory procedures to be used. The formal proposal should not exceed five pages (title page not included). An overview of the required components can be found in the Capstone Manual.

One of the goals of this project is to provide a service to a public entity. If possible, work with an organization that will benefit from your project directly. You should attempt to present your work prior to the end of the class to the organization to be able to include the feedback in the final paper as an appendix. Please keep in mind you need written permission to work with an organization and should secure that at the very beginning of class. Remember you may work with an organization on process and presentation, but you may not do human behavior research or access non-public data.

The proposal should be in narrative form with the introduction explaining your project. The literature review should demonstrate your knowledge of the research in the field. It will also show that you are on the right track with your proposal. The rest of the proposal should explain the process for completing the project to include who at the organization granted you approval to conduct the project. Also, explain the proposed format of your capstone. Will it look like a white paper with the final project as an appendix or will the bulk be a training manual, or grant proposal. Also are you working with an organization that has requested your findings be presented in a particular format, if so, what is that.

    Technical Requirements:

    • Your paper must be at a minimum of 3-5 pages (the Title and Reference pages do not count towards the minimum limit).
    • Scholarly and credible references should be used. A good rule of thumb is at least 2 scholarly sources per page of content which equates to six to ten references.
    • Type in Times New Roman, 12 point and double space.
    • Students will follow the current APA Style as the sole citation and reference style
    • Points will be deducted for the use of Wikipedia or encyclopedic type sources. It is highly advised to use academic books, peer-reviewed articles, archived documents, government publications, or primary sources.
    • All submissions will be graded using the assignment rubric.
