    Assignment Topic: Compensation

    Your readings have reinforced the fact that compensation is more than just salary/wages: It can (and usually does) include a number of other things. That said, one of the main items is health insurance. For this assignment use the Internet to learn how health care is provided in ONE of these major industrialized nations: Germany, Canada, France, Brazil, Japan and describe their system. Who is covered, how is it paid for, what is and isn’t covered, etc.? Include how you feel it compares to the system we use in the U.S. Be sure to provide citations for the information you present.

    • Submit your assignment in .docx or .doc format. If you do not have a program that allows you to save in that format, please find one, per our syllabus.
    • Include a title page including your name, course name/number, assignment name, professor name, and date.

    • For this Module 5 Writing Assignment, you will identify one recent conflict that you have had to navigate yourself.
    • This must be a conflict that has happened within the past month (the more recent, the better!)
    • You will write a paper describing your past conflict, and how you resolved the conflict. Describe the conflict resolution strategies that you used. Include details about your conflict from multiple angles, your emotions about it, and effectively communicate your concerns that helped you reach a resolution.
    • Reference any relevant conflict resolution strategies from the course that you used to resolve your conflict. I.E., if you happened to use a strategy from the course content when you resolved your past conflict, please reference this in your paper.
    • This paper will be 2-3 pages long (double spaced, 12 pt font, Times New Roman).

    Purpose: This assignment will allow you to explore real-world human relations and HR practices by interviewing a business owner, supervisor, or HR manager, as well as gain insight into how professionals approach motivation, workplace relationships, and HR responsibilities (all of which, are connected to the theories and concepts from Chapters 9 and 10). Have you found certain motivation or leadership theories particularly useful in practice?
