    Data Collection Methods in Employee Selection

    During the selection process, Industrial and Organizational Psychologists need to collect a wide range of data about applicants before making selection decisions. This discussion familiarizes you with data collection methods in the selection process. In addition, it introduces you to how they can be used in a real-world setting, the organization for which you work.

    • First, describe at least three data collection methods that Industrial and Organizational Psychologists use in the selection process.
    • Then, identify which source of employee data you believe is the best option (biodata, work samples, other measures) for a role of your choosing and why.
    • Finally, discuss why the other data collection methods were not as good as the one you chose and identify what roles the others would be best for.
