    DISCUSSION TOPICS

Consider how different it would be to access a service if there was no such thing as REST APIs. How would calls made to services from client systems be different from a REST-based environment? What alternatives are there to REST (there are other options)? What makes these alternatives different than REST?

  • Critical Analysis of an AI-Driven Hiring System

Critical Analysis of an AI-Driven Hiring System Length: 750 words minimum Weight: See rubric (Argument, Research & Evidence, Critical Analysis, Style & Citations) Questions: All questions regarding this assignment should be directed to Ishita Shreshtha at ***************************** Overview In this assignment, you will critically analyze a hypothetical but realistic artificial intelligence (AI) system used in hiring. The system supports employers throughout the recruitment pipeline, including rsum screening, candidate ranking, and interview evaluation. Although the system described is hypothetical, it reflects AI technologies that are currently deployed or actively marketed in real-world hiring contexts. You will examine this system as a sociotechnical system, meaning that its technical design cannot be separated from the social, ethical, organizational, and political contexts in which it operates. Drawing on concepts and readings from Weeks 13, you will develop a clear, well-supported argument about whether and how such a system should be developed, deployed, or governed. This assignment emphasizes critical analysis, scholarly research, and clear academic writing, as outlined in the grading rubric.

  • Annotated Bibliography

Subject of concentration is Information Technology

To successfully complete this assignment, you will find 10 peer-reviewed academic

or professional articles focused directly on your area of concentration, as you defined in

the statement of purpose you completed as part of the graduate admission process.

Ideally, your articles should afford you insight into leadership roles, initiatives, and

organizational actions that reflect how organizations operate in a global environment or how

organizations operate as they respond to the effects of globalization. The global problem or issue

you examine needs to be specific, and all your articles are clearly tied to that issue. You are

being given tremendous freedom here in choosing what to read and what to define as the primary

objective of your work. Your work, though, must clearly reflect central globalization issues.

Students should present their ideas for research to me for approval as early in the semester as

    possible.

Organize your 10 article reviews (Annotated Bibliography) around the following sections:

    1. Place a cover page and reference sections on your scholarly paper.

    2. Write your scholarly paper in APA 7 format. Use section headings (Main headings:

Abstract, Title of Paper, and References). Paragraphs should be no less than four

    sentences.

    3. Prepare a 100 word abstract. It should articulate a clear and comprehensive overview of the

    papers content.

    4. Cite the bibliographic reference in proper APA 7 form for each article and put it at the top of

each individual article review as well as in the References section.

    5. (Minimum 100 words per reference) discuss the articles primary purpose, goal, or

statement of problem. Explain your selection of this article by discussing how it relates to

your MPrS statement of purpose and/or professional goals.

    6. Discuss, based on the literature review presented by the articles author, what is currently

known about the articles primary purpose, goal, or statement of problem.

    7. Discuss how this article builds upon the current state of knowledge.

    8. Discuss how you might use the knowledge developed or substantiated from this article.

    9. Discuss how this article has affected your thinking regarding an organizational

response to this issue or problem and how that response might be led.

  • Assignment 1

The company that you are working for is considering buying another smaller firm. However, there is some business analysis needed for your company to make its final decision about purchasing. Throughout this course, you will be working on creating the Business Strategy and Management Plan.

Keep in mind that the final Business Strategy and Management Plan template should contain the following elements:

    • Title page
    • Course number and name
    • Project name
    • Your name
    • Date
    • Table of contents
    • Auto-generated
    • Up-to-date
    • Maximum of 3 levels deep
    • Section headings

Each week, you will add a section to your Business Strategy and Management Plan and submit it for grading. For Week 1, you will make a qualitative evaluation of the industry’s strategic position using Porter’s five forces. (Please note that the summaries below for Weeks 25 do not need to be completed in Week 1. Just create the section headings at this time). As a preview, each section will contain the following subsections:

    • Qualitative Evaluation of the Industrys Strategic Position (Week 1 IP)
    • Choose an aspect of the information technology (IT) industry that has not been previously used as an example in this course. Use Porters five forces to make a qualitative evaluation of the industrys strategic position. Be sure to explain each of the five forces, as well as how they relate to your chosen industry.
    • Note: The mobile phone industry was provided as an example in the video material and may not be used as the subject for this assignment.
    • Remember to include the following elements (Porters five forces):
    • Threat of new entrants: Are new entrants being attracted to the market, and are there barriers to entry in the industry?
    • Threat of substitute products or services: Are there other products that could be alternatives to offerings in the chosen industry?
    • Bargaining power of customers: What degree of bargaining power do the buyers have in terms of putting the industry under pressure to provide more products or less cost?
    • Bargaining power of suppliers: What is the importance of raw materials, components, labor, and services that are required for the industry, and are there substitutes for those inputs? Discuss the possibility of switching suppliers, if necessary.
    • Intensity of competitive rivalry: Does the industry have a sustainable competitive advantage?
