  • Small Group Counseling Sessions

    Once a group proposal has been developed, the next step in group development is to create a detailed plan or outline for each of the group sessions. Your level of organization and preparedness as a group facilitator will have a direct impact on the effectiveness of the group. Building upon your Week 6 assignment, you will now go through the process of creating small group sessions to meet the needs of your target population, and to achieve your intended group outcomes.

    Create six sequential group sessions with the counseling or psychoeducational topic chosen in your Foundations of Effective Group Work: Group Proposal assignment in Week 6. The sessions should reflect your knowledge of group process and stages, format, maintenance, guided practice, and closure.
