APN history and Beatitudes Presentation

A most important foundation for writing it is that you understand the terms (words) used in the Greek text of the New Testament, and do NOT rely on your understanding of these words in a modern, secular context.

The objective of this presentation is to discuss your knowledge of the Beatitudes as written in the Bible in Matthew 5:1-16. Were these mandates displayed in the works of early advance practice nurses?

The presentation also should discuss how the Beatitudes would or should affect your prospective Psychiatric Advance Practiced Nurse (APN) practice.

Please apply the following order:

First: Briefly provide some background on the Beatitudes. Be sure to look at the links below to study the Greek translations. This translation may provide a more deep meaning that other more secular works.

Second: Briefly provide some background on the history of APN practice. Tracy & O’Grady, Chapter 1 is an easy resource. Feel free to use any resource you like, however, to describe important actions in the development of the APN Roles.

Third: Discuss how the work of early APNs in the history of the development of APN roles reflects Beatitudes in the Bible as given in Matthew 5:1-16.

Analyze where in the history of APN were the Beatitudes demonstrated? Provide a few examples.

Fourth: How do you plan to (or how should/could an APRN) demonstrate “EACH” of the mandates of the Beatitudes in your psychiatric practice?

Discuss how exploring the virtues that are embedded in APN history and Beatitudes would or should affect your prospective APNs psychiatric practice.

This should be the heavier bulk of your paper.

Students will prepare a 3-5 slide PowerPoint presentation including title slide and references to lead a short weekly discussion according to each DNP Practicum Module/Week requirements. Each student will be prepared to discuss the Module/Week Discussion. The student must submit a voice-over PowerPoint to discuss the weekly synchronous meeting topic when the student does not attend the meeting. These weekly meetings will count 1 hour toward practicum hours and should be documented through In-Place.

2. In reflection on your nurse practitioner academic journey, what advice would you give to nurse practitioner students just starting out in this program?

Im doing a group research paper over comparative analysis of Autografts, Allografts, and Xenografts. I did the introduction for the paper and it had to be 1.5 pages long. I could only find one scholarly source that i had access too and I had to highlight where and what information I used from that sourced. • Capstone project topics cannot be used in this course due to the potential for self-plagiarism, a new topic must be chosen instead.

Step 2: Consider

• For your final paper, you will identify an issue in nursing and explore the evidence.
• What is the problem?
• What do you hope to achieve by addressing it?
• Identify your search strategies
• What level of evidence were you able to find?
• Write a literature review of at least 5 articles to address your problem.
• Solutions.

Step 3: Write

• Write a paper that addresses the questions above.

Objectives

• Identify qualitative and quantitative research processes

Deliverables

• Write a 2 page (not including the title and reference pages)
• APA 7 formatted paper with an introduction and conclusion
• APA 7 headings for each section of the paper
• At least (2) research sources, including 1 source from a periodical database that is most relevant, accurate, recent (less than 5 years old), and reliable.

Step 1: Research

• Find qualitative, quantitative, and mixed (both quantitative and qualitative) research sources.
• Capstone project topics cannot be used in this course due to the potential for self-plagiarism, a new topic must be chosen instead.

Step 2: Consider

• Compare and contrast qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-design research characteristics.
• Identify a problem in your place of work or at a clinical site
• What type of research listed above would you conduct to address this problem?
• Why or why not?

Step 3: Write

• Write a paper that addresses the questions above.
