  • Photography’s Display

Where do we see photographs, view photographs, find photographs? Choose one theme or idea discussed in this unit and expand upon it for your thesis.

We have discussed photography within the venues of:

    • early public spaces (i.e. salons)
    • in print
    • on the street (YOU ARE DOING THIS)
    • in museums and public collections
    • on the internet/social media

    Full assignment information:

For each unit you will create a digital research project (via Prezi/PowerPoint/etc.), each serving as a persuasive writing/research assignment that requires you to engage with the units theme.. For each unit you will craft a thesis based upon one (or more) topics from that unit. You will determine photographic works to include and annotate them with written text. You will build your project with 6-8 individual/unique works that are supported by research.

Digital Research Projects are marked down by 5 percentage points each day late.

All digital research projects will include the following:

    • Front page/slide with your name, date, course number, and project title
    • An introductory page of no less than 250 words explaining your theme and project
    • Six to eight pages follow, with one unique work on each page. Proper captions include: artist, title, date, photographic medium, dimensions (if known), and collecting institution (if known); each work will include an annotation of no less than 100 words to explain the works presence and importance to your theme
    • A list of cited research completes your project; each project must include at least two sources gleaned through YOUR SCHOOL Libraries resources. These can be books (online/paper), and/or articles found through databases.
    • A reflection paper (see below)
    • Proper source citations are required. Please refer to The Chicago Manual of Style 17th ed. to format all footnotes, endnotes, captions, and bibliographic references. For advice on when, where, and how to cite sources, see see

You will write a reflection paper (and upload it at the same time) to complete this project:

One way to retain and strengthen academic learning is to reflect upon the process. Asking ourselves the following questions creates a stronger loop of intention/research/outcome:

    • how did it (the research/writing/organizing) go? what did I learn? what were my roadblocks? what “clicked” into place to make this a strong project?

Consider some of these questions, or ask yourself other questions, to write your reflection paper based upon the digital exhibit you’re turning in. There are no right or wrong answers here, just reflection and purpose.

Failure to use proper citation will result in a lowered assignment grade. Repeated occurrence or blatant disregard could indicate plagiarism, which automatically results in a failing grade for the assignment, potential referral to the Office of Student Conduct, and possible removal from the course. It is your responsibility to become familiar with citing courses: complete proper citations are required on all assignments.

    IMPORTANT MUST READ:

You are doing street photography. Go to the attachment Week 7 Street Photography. You must read and watch the links in order for you to do this assignment. NOTE: You must use my school library for the annotations, you can use a few infromation i gave you from the WEEK 7 STREET PHOTOGRAPHY, but i highly suggest you find the information from the school library. This attachment is only for you to understand what street photography is. So for the 2 resources you must use my school library. So since you have no access to my school library you MUST message me here on what topic you want to research on. Once you tell me I will then research it in my school library, and I will send you screenshots of the options in my school library. From there you choose which one you want to see, then I proceed to download the file and send it for you to read. For this assignment I recommend you using museum sources or JSTOR/ARTSTOR.ORG to find high quality image. There are some information on how to get the high quality images as well the information about the image under the attachments. Please look into that. If you have anymore questions or need more info please let me know.

  • What Is ABA?

To understand ABA, it is important to understand how it is different from other fields of psychology and how it is similar to and different from other branches of behavior analysis. In this assignment, you will use the seven dimensions of ABA identified in your course text and Baer et al.’s 1968 article, “Some Current Dimensions of Applied Behavior Analysis,” to identify articles that are behavior analytic and those that are not. (See

reading list.) You will also differentiate ABA from the other branches of behavior analysis; behaviorism and the experimental analysis of behavior.

For this assignment, you will read two articles provided to you by your instructorone behavior analytic and the other not. Do not use any articles other than the ones posted in the course announcements.

Then use the to complete the following:

    1. Distinguish ABA from other psychological fields by identifying which of the articles is behavior analytic and which is not, and provide an explanation for your choice. Be sure to use in-text citations to back up the facts in this section.
    • Be sure to identify which of the seven dimensions of ABA are present in the behavior analytic article.
    • Analyze why the other article is not behavior analytic. How do you know the seven dimensions are not present? Be specific when discussing the dimensions that are present and absent.
    1. Differentiate ABA from the other branches of behavior analysis, by explaining the differences and connections between ABA, behaviorism, and EBA. Be sure to use in-text citations to back up the facts in this section.
    • Which aspects are shared and which aspects make them different from each other? Be sure to discuss both similarities and differences.

Refer to the What Is ABA? rubric to ensure you understand the grading criteria for this assignment.

    Additional Requirements

Your assignment should also meet the following requirements:

    • Written communication: Should be free of errors that detract from the overall message.
    • APA formatting: References and citations are formatted according to current APA style guidelines. Review the
    • section of the Writing Center for more information on how to cite your sources.
    • Resources: Reference only course materials for this assignment.
    • Length: 23 double-spaced pages, in addition to the title page and references page.

    Competencies Measured

By successfully completing this assignment , you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and rubric criteria:

    • Competency 2: Analyze the dimensions of applied behavior analysis.
    • Provide a rationale for each dimension of ABA identified.
    • Analyze why a particular article is not behavior analytic.
    • Competency 3: Distinguish between different branches in the field of behavior analysis.
    • Explain the differences and similarities between the branches of behaviorism.
    • Competency 4: Communicate in a manner that is scholarly and consistent with expectations for professionals in the field of psychology.
    • Demonstrate an academic writing style through well-organized prose that follows assignment guidelines.
    • Demonstrate compliance with APA style, citation, and referencing guidelines.

Sustainability Science 5060, Spring 2026 Homework #1 Due February 27, 2026 11:59 PM 1 Sustainability Science 5060, Fall 2021 Problem Set #1 Due October 15, 2021 11:59 PM Calculating the value of iteratively Imagine a series of regular polygons inscribed within a circle of unit radius. The figure at right shows a square (four sides, blue), an octagon (eight sides, red) and a hexadecagon (sixteen sides, green) inscribed in a circle (black). The perimeter of each of these polygons is an approximation to the circumference of the circle. Think of these polygons as successive iterations on the estimate of the circles circumference. The perimeter !! of the polygon at the kth iteration is !! = #!$!, where #! is the number of sides of the polygon and $! is the length of one of its sides. Since the circumference of the circle can be approximated by !!, and the circumference of a unit-radius circle is 2&, the estimate of & from the kth iteration is &! = #!$!/2. If each successive polygon has twice as many sides, then we have the following relations: #!”# = 2#! $!”# = (2)1 ,1 – $! 2 . $ / 1) Write a Python function side_k1 into which the the value $! is passed and which returns the value $!”#. 2) Write Python code that calls function side_k1 to estimate & using the two methods described below. For each method, write the result of each iteration, one line of output per iteration k. For each value of k, the code should print: (i) the value of k; (ii) the value of &! to ten decimal places; and (iii) the absolute value of difference between &! and & to two decimal places (including for the first and final iterations) in scientific notation. The output should have neat columns with decimal points aligned, and with header (i.e., label) rows at the beginning. a) Starting with ## = 4 (a square) for 2 = 1, write the Python code to estimate & using a while loop. (You will have to figure out what the value of $# is.) The code should loop until the absolute value of the difference between your estimate &! and the true value of & is less than 10%&. b) Same as (a), except use a for loop to iterate starting at 2 = 1 up to and including 2 = 20. Here is the first two lines of output both for parts 2a and 2b, not including column headers: 1 2.8284271247 3.13e-01 2 3.0614674589 8.01e-02 Grading This submission is worth 20% of your total course grade. The submission will be graded according to the following rubric, graded on a 100-point scale: 1) Code follows instructions and produces correct results (50 points): a) (Excellent: 50 to >30 pts): Code is responsive to instructions. Code runs and produces correct results with no or few changes. All assignment instructions are followed. b) (Good: 30 to >10 pts): Code deviates from instructions in minor ways. Code contains minor bugs on a few lines that the instructor can easily correct. Code follows nearly all assignment instructions. c) (Poor: 10 to >0 pts): Submission is not responsive to instructions or contains significant deviations. Code contains major coding errors or deviates significantly from assignment instructions. 2) Proper Python coding style (20 points): a) (Excellent: 20 to >12 pts): Variables have good mnemonic descriptors. Appropriate use is made of Python language features. Code is concise. Variable numerical types are appropriate. b) (Good: 12 to >4 pts): Variable names could be improved. Some duplicative or unnecessary code. Code does not make use of Python features to improve concision. c) (Poor: 4 to >0 pts): Poor variable names. Highly duplicative and significant blocks of unnecessary code. 3) Code documentation (20 points): a) (Excellent: 20 to >12 pts): Code is properly documented, with one informative comment every 12 lines of code. Comments describe authorship (including AI, if applicable) and purpose of code. b) (Good: 12 to >4 pts): Code is documented but could be better. c) (Poor: 4 to >0 pts): Code is poorly documented. 4) Code output (10 points): a) (Excellent: 10 to >6 pts): Code produces easy-to read, columnated, decimal-aligned table of output with headers. b) (Poor: 6 to >0 pts): Output is difficult to read or does not conform to assignment instructions. Submission Please submit your code through Courseworks as a single file of type .py (Python program file) or .ipynb (Python notebook). The filename should include your last name.

Assignment objective: Your goal in this assignment is to create a photo collage and discuss the new meaning created by the collage. Details: The photo collage may be created by hand (cut out pictures and glued together in one image) or created digitally, using PowerPoint or any application that you are comfortable using. For inspiration for your collage, please review the Unit V lesson and look at the Unit VI required reading in your textbook. Please incorporate at least two photographs into one collage. Take a photograph or save the digital work as a JPEG and upload it in the space below. Select two photographs that have distinct themes, subjects, or moods. Cut out elements from each photograph and combine them to create a new, cohesive image. Be creative with how you blend the elements to form a new narrative or visual statement. For the analysis, write a short paragraph (approximately 150 words) discussing the new meaning created by the collage. Consider the following points in your analysis: Original Context: Briefly describe the original context and meaning of each photograph before they were combined. New Interpretation: Explain how the new collage changes the meaning of the original photographs. Emotional and Conceptual Impact: Discuss any new emotions, concepts, or narratives that emerge from the combination of the two images. Visual Elements: Mention any notable visual elements (such as color, line, space, time) and design principles (such as unity, variety, balance) that contribute to the new meaning. This assignment encourages creativity, critical thinking, and an appreciation of how art can transform and reinterpret visual elements to convey new meanings. The original, unaltered images used to create your collage must also be included with your submission. Example Collage Description: Photograph 1: A serene landscape with a calm river and lush greenery. Photograph 2: A bustling city street with tall buildings and crowds of people. Collage Creation: The river from the landscape photo flows into the city street, blending natural and urban elements. Paragraph Analysis: “The original photograph of the peaceful landscape conveys calm tranquility and the beauty of nature, while the city street photo captures the energy and bustle of urban life. By combining the two, the new collage creates variety that highlights the contrast between the natural world and human development. The river flowing through the city street introduces a sense of peace amidst the chaos, suggesting harmony between nature and urbanization. This collage alters the individual meanings of the original photos and also invites viewers to reflect on the relationship between nature and modern cities.” Submission: Submit the completed collage along with the written paragraph as either one or two documents within one submission. Grading: This assignment will be reviewed in alignment with the grading rubric criteria. The assignment is worth 10% of your final course grade.
