  • Stress, Depression and Alcohol Disorder

Some people drink alcohol in an attempt to cope with their stress and/or depression. The sedative effects of alcohol help them distract from persistent feelings of anxiety or sadness. Given this knowledge on alcohol use, address the following in 200 words:

    • Discuss the link between stress, depression and alcohol use.

Cite information from your textbook and at least one outside scholarly resource (journal article, books, etc.) to support each post.

  • Obesity Discussion

Obesity is an epidemic in the United States, affecting over one-third of American adults. Apart from the obvious physical consequences, obesity also has negative psychological consequences, such as weight bias and body image disturbance. With this information in mind and your research readings, discuss the following question in 200 words.

    • How does obesity affect behavior and why is weight management important?

Cite information from your textbook and at least one outside scholarly resource (journal article, books, etc.) to support each post.

  • interview questions

As part of your experience for this course, you will arrange an interview and observation of subjects from two separate age periods. You will select one subject from two of the following age groups: toddlerhood, early childhood, middle childhood, and adolescent years.

In your final paper you will summarize both interviews and observations as well as compare both age groups.

You will begin in this unit by formulating 5 interview questions that you will ask to both of your subjects.

You will submit your questions for review and consideration. The document should include the age groups of your subjects. Protecting your subject’s identity is crucial, therefore create coded names/labels for the subject (eg, Subject Y) and do not indicate if you have a specific connection to the subject (eg, your niece).

Note: The purpose of the questions should be to identify and confirm the cognitive stage of the childs development. For example, asking a 4 year old about Santa Claus–the response should confirm where they are in their cognitive understanding of this mythical creature.

    Guidelines

    1. Use a 12-point font.
    2. Use double spacing, so there is room for me to write comments.
