    The purpose of a literature review is to discuss and connect related research in a specific field/topic in order to 1) present an overview of the latest research in the specified area, and 2) identify gaps in the current research and propose new research that might fill those gaps.   • Vocational Assessment

    For your Vocational Assessment Project, you will have to freedom to pick a stranger, friend, or family member to use as your “client.” The Vocational Assessment (or Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA) as it is known in public VR) is an amazing tool used by Rehabilitation Counselors to understand the needs that the client may have. Many times the client is not able to express their needs fully, or they may not understand they have a specific needs that you can assist them with. The CNA will allow you to target key areas to build a case plan for a client which will lead to successful competitive integrated employment. Documents required for use in this project can be found below and in their own page (Vocational Assessment Project Materials) in CANVAS. You are required to complete each document provided based on responses from your “client” and then develop a cohesive Vocational Assessment Report that provides the history, abilities, strengths, weaknesses, and best vocational direction for your subject. Your Vocational Assessment Report will follow the format listed in the “Suggested Format for Vocational Assessment Report” document. All areas outlined must be covered. If completed thoroughly, your report should be at least 4 to 6 pages, if not longer as there will be a great deal of material to summarize from your interviews and research. You may reference your text but you are required to utilize at least 4 additional resources such a Professional research journals and professional websites such as the O’Net. Prioritize your searches to current/recent documents (e.g., preferably within the past 10-15 years). Do not rely on web-based sites only you are expected to review the professional literature about your topic (e.g., professional journals and texts).     • Review the Core Autism Symptoms and Behavior Analytic Intervention table in this template.
    • Define operationally one behavior that would fall under each category.
      • You may review the (or other resources) for some possibilities.
      • Behaviors can be something you are actually seeing as a clinician (remember to leave out all names and identifying information), or can be hypothetical behaviors or behaviors you find in a case study.

      • Be sure to consider functions (hypothetically if needed) when reviewing the literature, if you are targeting a challenging behavior.
    • Fill out the remainder of the DSM-5 Intervention Matrix Template.
      • Write an ABA intervention strategy you could use, and cite your chosen journal articles. (This should be 24 paragraphs.) Remember that you could combine several strategies (you don’t have to for purposes of this assignment), or you can use the same strategy for different behaviors (differences would be found as you develop your comprehensive plan).
