  • Chapter 9-12

Discussion Board 3 This discussion board covers the information in Chapters 9, 10, 11, and 12. Before posting, be sure to carefully review the instructions and grading rubric in the syllabus and review the feedback left on your last post. For your initiator post, choose just one of the questions from chapters 9, 10, 11, or 12. For example, there are six questions to choose from on page 157 in Chapter 9. Make it clear at the top of your post which question you are answering. Your point of view should be clear, and feel free to use the first person, such as “I think…” and “I believe…” A strong post will include moral theory and reference the case in the chapter. Again, review the instructions in the syllabus before posting. You may write your post in Word and copy/paste it into the Canvas text box, but do not use the attachment feature. You must post first to see the posts of your classmates. Your first post will be counted as your initiator post submission whether it is complete or incomplete. After you post your initiator post, don’t forget to come back and post your response posts (see syllabus instructions). You may use A.I. to help you study, but you may not use A.I. to write your post for you. Please email the instructor or teaching assistant if you have any questions. • 4.1 Content Knowledge Challenge

Chapter Four provides our first in depth encounter with operant behavior. We shift our focus from the two-term contingency of respondent conditioning to the three-term contingency of operant conditioning. We revisit the antecedent stimulus as a discriminative stimulus but spend most of our attention on the consequent stimuli which impact the future probability of the responses that produce them. We talked about response classes and stimulus classes as well.

For your fourth CKC we will focus on the contingencies of operant behavior. To complete this challenge, provide answers to the following: (1) Compare and contrast positive and negative reinforcers. You should select one point of comparison: it should be the most important and defining point of comparison. Answer this portion of the question in no more than 20 words You should select one point of contrast: it should be the most important and defining point of contrast. Answer this portion of the question in 25 words or less. (2). Compare and contrast positive and negative punishers. You should select one point of comparison: it should be the most important and defining point of comparison. Answer this portion of the question in no more than 20 words You should select one point of contrast: it should be the most important and defining point of contrast. Answer this portion of the question in 25 words or less. (3) Compare and contrast negative reinforcers and positive punishers. You should select one point of comparison: it should be the most important and defining point of comparison. Answer this portion of the question in no more than 20 words You should select one point of contrast: it should be the most important and defining point of contrast. Answer this portion of the question in 25 words or less.

Your response to this challenge should be formal. It should be well written and carefully organized to address each portion of the challenge. You are free to use your text and other resources but make sure you cite and reference all sources used. You should focus on paraphrasing rather than quoting from sources. Your document should be saved as a doc, docx or pdf file. It should adhere to the APA 6th edition editorial style. If you need assistance with APA editorial style take the link Writing Styles Guide on the left (toward the bottom) which will land you on the Purdue OWL site. This challenge has strict word limits these are not minimum limits but maximum limits. Focus on being direct and concise.
