SCENARIO: Monica is a single mom who has a 16-year-old son named Jordan. Monica and Jordan were close at one point. As of late, Monica has been noticing that Jordan spends a lot of time focusing on what his friends think about him. Without his mothers permission, Jordan recently crawled out of his bedroom window and went to a party when he was supposed to be studying for an exam. Upon his return home, Jordan reeked of alcohol and marijuana and was caught by his mother. Shocked and appalled by her son’s recent behavior, she grounded him for two weeks.

What advice would you give Monica about her sons recent behavior?

ASSIGNMENT: Using what you learned about the adolescent brain and social development, you will answer questions related to this case study assignment below. Your goals are to help Monica understand why her son makes the choices he does and recommend some strategies that may help solve the problem. Instructions

For this assignment, you will use the CASP document treatment plan outline (pages 2324) to finish developing your treatment plan for the behaviors listed in your DSM-5 intervention matrix from Week 5. This is Part 2 of your ABA Treatment Plan for ASD assignment.

    In preparation:

    • Review the following resource, especially familiarizing yourself with the necessary elements of the treatment plan
    • .
    • Make sure you are using the ABA Treatment Plan for ASD you submitted for Week 7 assignment. By the end of this assignment, you should have a complete plan in your template. This is what you will submit for this week’s assignment.

For this assignment, complete the remaining parts of the treatment plan as outlined below. (Note: You are not required to complete Sections 8 and 14, but can if you choose):

    • 7. Treatment Plan (Focused ABA).
      • Treatment setting.
      • Operational definition for each behavior and goal.
      • Specify behavior management (that is, behavior reduction and/or acquisition) procedures.
        • Antecedent-based interventions.
        • Consequence-based interventions.
      • Describe data collection procedures.
      • Proposed goals.
    • 9. Parent/Caregiver Training.
      • Specify parent training procedures.
      • Describe data collection procedures.
      • Proposed goals and objectives [for parents or caregivers].
    • 10. Number of Hours Requested.
    • 11. Coordination of Care.
    • 12. Transition Plan.
    • 13. Discharge Plan.

    Supplemental

You also need to include the following in your plan. There is a section titled Supplemental in your template.

    • BACB ethical standards considered for this plan (list at least five specific standards).
    • Statement of Capella Compassion Code alignment.
    • Example of one data collection sheet for one goal.
    • Example of one hypothetical graph for one goal (with expected trend).
    • Reference page (directly aligns with intervention citations).

Remember that your information here will likely be hypothetical, though you can use elements of a real-life case as long as all identifying information is removed (this is extremely important and must not be forgotten; no exceptions). See the CASP document for more information on what to include in these sections.

While the template is in an outline form, make sure you are writing complete sentences and paragraphs to address each section. Lists, incomplete sentences, and partial paragraphs are not sufficient for this assignment.

Alignment of Interventions and Behaviors: Remember that for purposes of this course and this assignment, you will be aligning your interventions with the operationally defined behaviors from your DSM-5 intervention matrix from Week 5. Interventions may be taken directly from the matrix. All interventions must be supported by at least one citation from the peer-reviewed literature. The behaviors included in your DSM-5 intervention matrix should be the basis for the treatment plan and should be aligned with the background and assessment portions of the plan.

Additional Supports for ASD: As you prepare the remainder of your treatment plan, remember to consider what additional supports may be necessary for a child with autism, based on what you know about ASD. These should be aligned with your assessment information. For example, research and/or review some of the common additional supports that may be helpful for individuals with ASD (keeping in mind that though common, supports should still be highly individualized, as they would in any ABA program or intervention). Examples include visual supports, structured teaching environment, clear boundaries, items or areas to increase or decrease sensory input (including the ability to appropriately engage in self-stimulatory behavior), highly motivating items/activities, adaptations to assist with communication and social interactions, and adaptations to reduce anxiety (choices, priming, breaks, et cetera).

Overall, you assignment submission will be assessed based on the following criteria:

    • Create a compassionate, inclusive, and focused ABA treatment plan that includes treatment setting, behaviors, behavior management, data collection, and goals. (Section 7.)
    • Explain procedures, goals, and objectives for parent or caretaker training that is compassionate, equitable, inclusive, and mindful of diversity. (Section 9.)
    • Explain hours requested and a plan for care coordination that keeps the needs of the client and family in the forefront. (Sections 10 and 11.)
    • Explain transition and discharge plans that clearly lay out roles and responsibilities, target dates, goals, and how services will gradually step down. (Sections 12 and 13.)
    • Explain ethical standards and alignments considered in the treatment plan, as well as examples of ethical data collection and goal graphing. (Supplemental.)
    • Convey purpose in a well-organized text, incorporating appropriate evidence and tone in grammatically sound sentences.
    • Apply APA style and formatting to scholarly writing.

this reasearch paper is about how situations affect your mental wellbeing, leaving you feeling unwanted, insecure, and even change you as a person. I want a strong pitch, headline, lede and include a nutgraf. also can you make fake interviews? as if i interviwed numerous people from the age of 18-25 their thoughts and opinions on situationships- and they all think its detrimental to health. use some of the links i provided and also find some of your own research to back up my pitch.

:My research paper will explore how situationships affect mental health, especially among young adults navigating modern dating culture. Romantic relationships without clear labels or commitment have become increasingly common in today’s generation, but they often create confusion, insecurity, and emotional stress. I want to examine how these unclear dynamics impact self-esteem, anxiety, and peoples understanding of healthy relationships.

To support my research, I plan to interview a mental health professional or relationship expert, as well as college students who have experienced situationships themselves. These interviews will help provide real-life perspectives on why situationships are so common today and how they affect people emotionally. The goal of this paper is to better understand how modern dating culture can influence mental well-being and why clearer communication and boundaries in relationships may be important for mental health.

    • A headline, dek, and around 1,000 words

As an intern, I gained hands-on experience conducting client intakes and admissions, completing biopsychosocial assessments, suicide risk evaluations, and orientation/admission notes. I assisted in gathering clinical histories, documenting mental health and substance use concerns, identifying behavioral patterns and triggers, and contributing to treatment recommendations. I regularly completed progress notes, home visit documentation, and well-being summaries while adhering to documentation standards and agency guidelines. Through this role, I strengthened my skills in clinical writing, risk assessment, client engagement, and applying trauma-informed and person-centered approaches when working with vulnerable populations.

  • Week 10 Assignment

The book is Current Psychotherapies by Danny Wedding and Raymond Corsini

For your final project, you will evaluate and choose 12 therapies from those covered in this course (you may apply a maximum of two, and your selection(s) must be from therapies covered in this course) that will successfully address a concern (chosen from the categories indicated in the first bullet point below) brought by a mock client who identifies with a non-majority population.

The first part of this project should be 1012 pages long and should describe the client’s demography and concern; it should then provide an evidence-based reason for your choice of therapeutic approach with the client.

You will create a 34 page transcript of a fictional session with the client. The transcript provides you the opportunity to demonstrate competence and build on the application of both therapy-specific and basic therapeutic communication skills you learned and practiced in Units 3, 4, and 6. The transcript must include a demonstration of the basic communication skills and at least one technique/strategy that clearly reflects the therapeutic approach(es) you identified earlier in the paper. For example, if you wanted to assist a client suffering from generalized anxiety, you might choose REBT and demonstrate refuting the client’s irrational beliefs.

    Instructions

To successfully complete this project, you will be expected to:

    • Choose a single disorder that can be ameliorated with psychotherapy (choose from these DSM-5-TR categories: depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma and stress related disorders, OR substance-related and addictive disorders).
    • Identify a therapy or therapies (no more than two) that may be efficacious for treating that disorder, based on current research.
    • Discuss what the research says about the use of this therapy or therapies with multicultural populations (choose ONE facet to discuss: race, religion, ethnicity, culture, OR sexual orientation) you will address. One example might be arguing the usefulness of Interpersonal Psychotherapy to assist a male suffering from an anxiety disorder and who identifies as a member of the Hispanic population.

After the reference section of the paper, add a second section in which you create a transcript of a hypothetical therapy session with this client. Allow the fictional session to develop with appropriate therapist responses labeled on the transcript. Identify the therapist response in brackets next to the therapist responses in the transcript as an open-ended question, empathic statement, paraphrase, or summarization, as well as other therapeutic responses which align with the approach you will use to assist your client.

EXAMPLE OF THERAPIST RESPONSE LABELING WITHIN TRANSCRIPT

Therapist: What are some of the options you have considered to this point? [open-ended question]

Client: Dropping out of school, moving my children in with my mother who lives in another state, and during my darkest hours (voice breaking) taking a bottle of sleeping pills with a quart of vodka.

Therapist: (Softly) It’s difficult when we feel as if there is no way out of a complicated problem. [empathic statement]

Client: That’s right. I want to finish school so that I can provide for my family and be a good role model, but how do I do that when I worked 45 hours a week just to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table? My mom did a terrible job when she raised me but I try to convince myself that kids are tough and it would only be for a little while….but if something were to happen while they were with her I would never forgive myself. She tells me she has changed and would do a much better job the second time around, but how can I be sure?

Therapist: On one hand, you want to trust your mom to care for your children, but on the other, your memories of growing up were not all that positive. [paraphrase]
