Part 1 You will select a real-life legal case involving significant forensic psychology components. The paper must be 7 pages in length, double-spaced, using 12-point Times New Roman font, with 1-inch margins and use APA 7th edition style. A title page and reference list should also be included, which do not count as part of the total page count. You will summarize the case, discuss its legal elements, and analyze how psychology and the media influenced the proceedings. Assignment Details: Case Selection: Select a real-life legal case involving significant forensic psychology components. Case Selected: Jodi Arias Research and Sources: Utilize at least 8 peer-reviewed academic sources to support your analysis. These sources should provide insights into forensic psychology principles relevant to your chosen case, as well as academic discussions on the cases implications within the field. One of the required resource is attached below. Paper Structure: Introduction (1 page) *I recommend completing this section last*: Introduce the chosen case and its relevance to forensic psychology. Present a thesis statement outlining the key forensic psychological issues that will be discussed throughout the paper. Present a thesis statement outlining the influence of the media on the case and the types of media portrayals that will be discussed throughout the paper. Case Summary (1 page): Provide a detailed summary of the legal case, including the background, the charges, and the individuals involved. Highlight any significant events leading up to the legal proceedings. Linear Progression of Legal Proceedings (1 page): Outline the chronological steps of the legal process, including key pre-trial hearings, court decisions, verdicts, sentencing, and appeals. Be sure to note any critical proceedings related to forensic psychology (e.g., expert testimony on the defendants mental state at the time of the offense). Analysis and Discussion (3 1/2 pages): Discuss how specific forensic psychology factors played a role in the case at each stage (e.g., if a competency evaluation of the defendant was ordered, what impact did this have on the case?). Analyze the accuracy of specific media portrayals of the defendant/victim/case, and discuss how they might have influenced the legal proceedings. Reflect on the implications of the case for the field of forensic psychology, including how the case might influence future legal practices or perceptions of forensic psychological evaluations. Consider any ethical dilemmas or controversies raised by the case and the role of psychology in the media. Conclusion (1/2 page): Summarize key points discussed in the paper and reaffirm the significance of forensic psychology in the legal system as demonstrated by the case. Formatting and Submission: The paper must be 7 pages without (reference page and cover page) in length, double-spaced, using 12-point Times New Roman font, with 1-inch margins. 2-2 Activity: Is this a research paper

In thinking about child-rearing, what parenting style did your parents or guardians use with you? Do you find yourself using the same parenting style with children? What parenting style have you observed friends using? What effects did you see on the childs personality? Was it consistent with what the research shows? Are there any factors that you feel may have influenced the parenting styles you discussed here? When referring to the parenting style be sure to provide clear language indicating your understanding of the style and provide the necessary exemplary scenarios that support your label of the style you write about.

The purpose of this assignment is to get a better insight into the perception of the field of psychology from others.

Interview 5 people and ask them the following questions:

1. How would you define the term psychology?
2. Name at least 3 types of careers in psychology
3. Name one psychologist & why they are famous.

The people you interview can be anyone your friends, roommates, parents, siblings, etc.

In your essay, describe the following for each person: (5 points per person interviewed, 25 points total)

• Demographics of the 5 people you interviewed.
• Age, sex, and current education status
• Their answers to the interview questions.
