Women make up just over half the US population and should not be considered a special, minority population, but rather an equal gender whose health needs require equal research efforts as those for men. Historically, however, the health needs of women, apart from reproductive concerns, have lagged in medical research. In 1985, the Public Health Service Task Force on Women’s Health Issues concluded that “the historical lack of research focus on women’s health concerns has compromised the quality of health information available to women as well as the health care they receive.” Since the publication of that report, there has been a transformation in women’s health researchincluding changes in government support of research, in policies, in regulations, and in organizationthat has resulted in the generation of new scientific knowledge about women’s health. Offices on women’s health have been established in a number of government agencies.Government reports and reports from other organizations, including the Institute of Medicine (IOM), have highlighted the need for, and tracked the progress of, the inclusion of women in health research. A number of nongovernment organizations have also provided leadership in research in women’s health. And women as advocates, research subjects, researchers, clinicians, administrators, and US representatives and senators have played a major role in building a women’s health movement. A number of non-governmental organizations have also provided leadership in research in women’s health. And women as advocates, research subjects, researchers, clinicians, administrators, and US representatives and senators have played a major role in building a women’s health movement.

Case study written assignment
The text for the written case study analysis must be at least one page no more than two pages excluding references, with 1″ margins all around. The font should be 12 pt.
Be sure to include a reference page and in text citations as appropriate.
Attachments and appendices are not required but may be used as supporting material. They must be however: (1) referenced in the text, and (2) kept in order of their reference.
Format
Case studies should follow the following suggested format. Be sure and include a minimum of 3 credible references and include APA citations when supporting your analysis. Referencing is required.
This section should provide a statement of what the purpose of your analysis is. Given that you have limited space, eliminate the text about “how you have been required to do a case study” and quickly get to the point of what your analysis found and what the implications are for the case.
The key to writing a good statement of purpose is making clear what the situation is that is being confronted (threat to environment, health, workers, etc.) and what couldneeds to be done to improve the situation or prevent it in the future. Your goal is to identify what the “big picture” implications are of the situation.
For this section look at some of the suggested long-term responses and impacts on the case study document, or come up with your own, and select or choose a recommendation that you feel could prevent and or reduce this type of event from happening in the future. What measures moving forward do you think Japan, or any other country for that matter should implement as an intervention? What are the steps needed to make this recommendation happen?
Thus, it is important to both identify your recommendation and the key steps required to implement this alternative. The key to writing a good recommendation is identifying the details and the key steps or stages of your recommendation. Thinking about your recommendation as a system of relationships with varying timelines and stages in which to succeed will lead you to present a more comprehensive case analysis.
Here is where you link your recommendation to your analysis of the case. The rationale should clarify how your recommendation helps overcome the situation you identified in the introduction. For example, if, in your introduction, you argue that the nuclear power plants should not be on shorelines, be sure to identify how your recommendation would improve or prevent future disasters. The key to writing a good rationale is to make your logic or line of reasoning come full circle. This is a statementparagraph of how your recommendation helps address key external and internal issues confronting the event.

Flow Chart- Transmission Cycle Dropbox Assignment (40 pts) Instructions
Zoonotic and Vector-borne diseases result from the interaction of agent, host, and environment. Transmission occurs when the agent leaves its reservoir or host through a portal of exit, it is conveyed by some mode of transmission, and enters through an appropriate portal of entry to infect a susceptible host. This sequence is sometimes called the chain of infection or the cycle of transmission. For this assignment select a zoonotic or vector-borne disease from Table 5-1 (page 96) in our text, and create a flow chart demonstrating the cycle of transmission. Be sure to include the 7 categories numbered below. Add detail as necessary to clearly show the process of transmission. You can use pictures and or text, as long as the flowchart clearly represents the seven categories below. Conclude with Implications for Public Health by providing a minimum of three bullets outlining methods of controlling or eliminating the cycle of transmission (example; vaccinations, hand washing, universal precautions, etc.). I have attached two basic flow chart examples.
Human
Animal (zoonosis)
Environmental (Plants, soil, and water)
The path by which the pathogen leaves its host.
Direct
Direct contact (skin-to-skin contact, kissing, and sexual intercourse)
Droplet spread (direct spray carried by dust or droplet nuclei suspended in air)
Indirect
Airborne (material that has settled on surfaces and become re-suspended by air currents)
Vehicles (include food, water, biologic products (blood), and fomites (inanimate objects such as handkerchiefs, bedding, or surgical scalpels)
Vectorborne (such as mosquitoes, fleas, and ticks may carry an infectious agent)
The portal of entry refers to the manner in which a pathogen enters a susceptible host
The final link in the chain of infection is a susceptible host. Susceptibility of a host depends on genetic or constitutional factors, specific immunity, and nonspecific factors that affect an individual’s ability to resist infection or to limit pathogenicity. An individual’s genetic makeup may either increase or decrease susceptibility.
Three Interventions directed at controlling or eliminating cycle of transmission.

This discussion introduces core concepts of epidemiology and human ecology and explores how biological, environmental, and social factors interact to influence population health. Students will demonstrate their ability to synthesize foundational theory and apply epidemiologic thinking to real-world public health issues.
