  • Research article analysis

For this discussion choose a quantitative or qualitative research article (not a systematic review, meta-analysis, or meta-synthesis) from the American Sentinel College virtual library. Find a different article from any you have shared so far in the course. Discuss if the problem statement is clearly stated. Is the research question clear? If not, how would you rewrite the question for clarity? What theoretical or conceptual framework guided the research? Did the authors clearly describe the theoretical basis for the research? Why or why not? Share the DOI or permalink from the university Library for your research article in your post (do not upload a PDF of the research article). Remember to respond to at least two of your peers. Please refer to the College Syllabus Standards and College Policy document for the Participation Guidelines & Grading Rubric.
  • Best Practices Handout

Each individual student will post (as a link or file attachment) a best practices handout. See the guidelines for the handout below.

    Best Practices Handout Guidelines:

    • You may use any template or file format you choose including a webpage if preferred. make sure the aesthetics are clean and professional and the information is legible.
    • The target audience of your handout is child life professionals and students. Your language should be crafted with your target audience in mind. You are informing your colleagues and future CL professionals about best practices (best practices when it comes to child life services, not best research practices).
    • The information that is informing your summary of best practices should be a combination of what your group learned through (1) your annotated bibliography and literature review research, and (2) what you have learned from the Child Life research articles and text from this course.
    • Your handout should organize the information around themes or areas of service.
    • Your handout should be roughly 250-350 words.
    • Your handout should include citations of the sources from which you are getting the information. However, instead of APA formatting you may choose for aesthetic purposes to use footnotes and superscript/subscript numbers, listing your APA formatted references on a separate page/document. Any factual claim you make should be supported by research references. You may have to request references from peer groups if citing a claim made by one of their projects.

  • Article Critique

The outline has been drafted and resources have been found. (This is listed in the attached Word document.)

Read the “Framework for the Ethical Conduct of Research: The Ethical Principles of the Belmont Report,” located in the Topic 2 Resources. Then view the library tutorial on using the GCU databases and the “Finding Empirical Research Articles” video located in the Topic 2 Resources. Find a scholarly peer-reviewed journal from the library. Select a research study (complete with Method, Results, and Discussion sections).

In 750-1,000 words, analyze the article.

    • List the research question(s)/hypothesis being considered in the article.
    • Analyze how the ethical standards were applied to the study being conducted.

Summarize the ethical standards that are being considered in the study. Consider the following in your study: competence, integrity, professional and scientific responsibility, respect for people’s rights and dignity, concern for others’ welfare, social responsibility in your description.

Discuss if the study adheres to the Belmont Principles, including why or why not.

Overall, evaluate whether or not the study is ethically sound. Justify your reasoning.

    • Evaluate the method and design used to test the research question(s)/hypothesis, including:

Describe the variables including how were they defined and operationalized (Objective 2.2)?

Justify whether or not the method and design was accurate. When thinking through your assessment of accuracy, consider whether or not the methods and the design selected are aligned to the research question, whether the tools selected are reliable and valid, whether or not the variables are identified correctly, and if they hypothesis testing being used will correctly assess those variables.

Include at least two to four scholarly sources.

Youre continuing your research journeygreat work so far! In this step, youll focus on finding scholarly journal articles that support your argumentative research paper. Whats a Scholarly Journal Article? A scholarly (or academic) journal article is a research-based article written by experts in a field and published in academic journals. These articles often go through peer review, meaning other experts have evaluated the article for quality before it’s published. They are not the same as articles from newspapers or magazinestheyre more in-depth and research-focused. Youll find these through library databases like CCC Library Online, Magnolia, or other academic research tools. What You Need to Do: Find 2 scholarly journal articles related to your research topic. Use a reliable academic database to locate them (not a regular Google search). Summarize each article in your own words. Both summaries should be included in one document. On the same document, include the MLA-style works cited entries for both sources. Important Notes: Make sure youve reviewed the MLA resources and the example submission provided earlier in the module before completing this. Only use scholarly journal articles for this assignmentno magazines or newspapers this time. Submissions that do not follow MLA formatting or use the wrong type of source will be returned for revision. Upload your document as a file when you’re ready. • Annotated Bibliography

I have attached the topic and related stuff to help complete the assignment. but it has to be on the topic that is given.

    Annotated Bibliography Assignment Instructions

This weeks assignment requires that students complete an annotated bibliography. Before you begin the assignment, make sure that you:

    • Read through these instructions carefully.
    • Go through the PowerPoint Presentation of an Annotated Bibliography provided in the assignment module.
    • Look at the Student Example of an Annotated Bibliography provided in the assignment module.

An annotated bibliography is a series of entries in which students summarize and evaluate the sources they will use for their research project. This process has three steps:

    1. Cite the source properly using MLA Style, from the MLA Handbook, 9th edition. We worked on citing sources extensively in the previous course, CDST 4110, Research Invention. Make sure you look at previous assignments for help with citing.
    2. Summarize the book, article, or web article in a few sentences. This summary must include the thesis of the source and other main points. This must be in your own words, not taken from the source or any other source in any way.
    3. Evaluate the book, article, or web article in a few sentences. The evaluation will be in your own words. Evaluating a source demonstrates that you understand the books point. Think about the source and the validity of the conclusions.

    For this assignment, you MUST:

    • Compose and upload the assignment in Word. Do not upload your assignment as a PDF. I use track changes and need to comment on your assignment.
    • Correctly cite a minimum of ten (10) sources:
    • Four (4) of the sources must be books
    • Four (4) of the sources must be scholarly journal articles
    • Two (2) of the sources can be scholarly websites
    • Students ARE allowed to use sources from the Source Assignments completed in CDST 4110, Research Invention. Please just make sure that you look over the comments on these previous assignments and make sure to make any necessary corrections to source citations.
    • Cite the source properly using MLA Style according to the MLA Handbook,

    9th edition.

    • Annotate the source with a minimum of five (5) sentences and no more than

seven (7) sentences. Remember, annotations must be written in your

own words and not copied from another source or generated with AI software.

    • Entries must be in alphabetical order according to the authors last name or the first letter in the entry.
    • Double-space the entire document.
    • Insert page numbers into this assignment.
    • Give the title of your senior capstone paper.
