A Research Logic Model is a diagrammed program that can be used to transform the activities and the desired outcome of a program into researchable questions. It operates concurrently with the Program Logic Model to ensure that the process of evaluation is stringent, ordered, and connected directly to the objectives that the program is supposed to accomplish. Whereas the Program Logic Model diagrams what the program does and what it hopes to achieve, the Research Logic Model defines how the achievements will be measured, by what data, with what analysis techniques, and at what stage of the data collection (McDavid et al., 2019).

    Professor Comments:

    • Good statement

This Research Logic Model is created to inform the program evaluation of the Foster Care Family Recruitment and Retention Program of the South Carolina Department of Social Services (SCDSS). This program became known through collaborating with the field placement supervisor as one of the high-priority programs that needs a systematic assessment. The program plays an imperative role in child welfare: it recruits, educates, licenses, and counsels foster families that give temporary and permanent care to children in state custody (Font & Gershoff, 2020). The agency does not have a formal system for tearning what recruitment approaches are

    Professor Comments:

    • Edit your writing. Program evaluations are written for a broader audience. Use succinct language that is clear in its description.
    • Be more intentional with word choice so the meaning is clear.

    discriminates the existing data sources

    Research Questions

    Professor Comments:

    • This is a semester long project. So these are too many questions to attempt to answer. Think

Numbers (quantitative data, conversion rates, demographic data in a category)

    Professor Comments:

    • List the type of data that will be used. Be specific. Number of families trained, number of families trained in comparison to the number of homes licensed. Be very specific about what type (what variables) will be used. What can you access?

Trend analysis of 12 months cycle.

    Professor Comments:

    • You need to establish a baseline. This needs to include an analysis of the past 3-5 years and then moving forward after the programs were implemented.

Outcomes: Short-term: More licensed foster homes. Production Goal: 75 licensed houses annually.

    Professor Comments:

    • Are they interested in having more licensed foster care placements and/or the quality of the placements that result in long term care?

Research Question 2: What is the effect of the quality of pre-service training on skill development and confidence of foster parents!

    Professor Comments:

    • You would need to operationalize confidence of the foster parents. Look at the data they have collected. What questions can you answer?
    • Mixed data
    • Quantitative (retention rates, service period)
    • Qualitative (exit interview stories, case notes)

    Professor Comments:

    • What data do they already collect that would allow you to answer this question?

    Overall Professor Comment:

    • Review comments. Reduce the overall number of questions. Think about what data they already collect and what questions you can answer with that existing data.
  • Research & Summaries Question

I have to turn in a 3+ introduction paper based on five research articles I have found that relate to my own research which is in regards to college students and memory recall with word list provided to them.I will provide the five articles. My research will consist of 30 participants in two separate group groups of 15 and they will go over to Work list and neutraland more emotional charge. One afterwards they will complete a math worksheet for about a minute and a half, and then will be asked to recall the words from the list. My intro must include no direct quotes from the articles, but rather summaries, but still must cite the author after the sentence. Has to be apa style. Also including the textbook sample they offered fo reference. Double spaced times new roman.

  • Program Logic Model Final

Update your Program Logic Model based on your field/clinical experiences and instructor’s comments.

The Foster Care Family Recruitment and Retention Program was chosen as a top priority for evaluation in the field placement setting. Program logic models are a useful way to look at how program resources and activities are supposed to lead to useful results. A logic model shows how investments lead to outputs and, over time, to changes in the short and long term. This is different from treating services as separate tasks. This method makes it easier for everyone involved to understand each other’s points of view and makes the links between intervention strategies and results clearer (McDavid et al., 2018; Student Resources, 2018).

    Professor Comments:

    • Good opening. Remember, this product goes to the site. So you might want to limit references to your class requirement.
    • Go directly from the introduction of the program to the program logic model. Make sure you label it in alignment with APA.

The leaders of SCDSS have stressed three areas where regular evaluation is very important. First, we still don’t know how well recruitment works.

    Professor Comments:

    • What were the 3 areas? You should list them after stating there are 3.

The agency has little proof of which outreach activities lead to completed applications, licenses, and active placements, even though they do generate interest. Without reliable conversion data throughout the recruitment process, decisions about how to use resources could be based on stories instead of facts.

    Professor Comments:

    • They may have proof and just havent used their existing data effectively. Make notations that direct you to examine their data and look for proof…avoid saying what they don’t have at this point.

Second, problems with keeping people in the system make it less stable.

    Professor Comments:

    • State all issues in as neutral a manner as possible. For example, there are three questions posed by the staff that warrant further investigation: 1) question; 2) question; and 3) question.

Third, the link between caregiver preparation and placement stability hasn’t been fully studied in the context of the state.

    Professor Comments:

    • What type of preparation matters to the sustainability of a caregiver and child in placement?

The program uses resources from different areas, such as money, people, technology, and organizations. Funding helps with staff, outreach, training, and support for caregivers. Staffing includes recruiters, licensing specialists, trainers, and caseworkers who provide services from hiring to keeping employees. Technological infrastructure, like databases, communication platforms, and training materials, makes it possible to keep track of things and deliver services. Facilities like training centers and community venues provide space for operations. The larger policy and social environment, such as licensing rules and the need for foster care, affects both the ability to hire new people and the pressure to keep them. These inputs are the conditions that must be met for the program to work (McDavid et al., 2018).

    Professor Comments:

    • Are any services offered to kids?

About 100 of these applicants finish their pre-service training, and 75 of them become licensed foster homes. Around 60 of these homes take in new residents every year. More outputs include the number of support group sessions held, the number of continuing education workshops held, and the number of database records updated to keep track of caregiver engagement.

    Professor Comments:

    • What makes the numbers drop? Of the 100 who finish their training, what happens to the other 40?

    Overall Professor Comments:

    • Well done. Given what you’ve written, the research questions are starting to emerge.
