  • Scholarship essay on “What is the Difference Between Credit…

I’m a high school senior and I have to provide an essay for a scholarship I’m applying for with my local credit union. It has to be between 500-1000 words, double-spaced, in MLA format. I’ve searched some websites and found an article from my local newspaper online about the credit union to help with the “how has TCFCU impacted you” part, along with a website that tells how credit unions can impact the economy, community, etc. I don’t have an account with the credit union, but my parents have been members for almost 20 years. I don’t know much about it from a personal standpoint. I’d appreciate the help with this essay because I really need to get scholarships to help pay for college. Feels free to add anything you feel might help . Please let me know if I need to provide anything else. Thank you

  • Clinical placement and OHH Scholarship essay

I will like a rewrite to remove AI detection.

What specialties do you need for your rotation? Which are you most excited about?

I am seeking clinical rotations in adult, child/adolescent, and geriatric psychiatry. I am particularly excited about adult psychiatry, as it allows me to integrate my clinical nursing experience with deeper psychiatric assessment and treatment planning. I am also very interested in community mental health settings, where I can learn how to care for diverse populations and address barriers to access for underserved patients.

What are you most looking forward to learning?

I am most looking forward to gaining hands-on experience with comprehensive psychiatric assessments, psychopharmacologic management, and therapeutic treatment planning across the lifespan. I am especially eager to develop strong clinical judgment, refine my diagnostic reasoning, and learn how to build therapeutic relationships that foster trust and engagement. Ultimately, I hope to grow into a provider who combines clinical competence with empathy, meeting patients where they are and supporting them in their recovery.

    Essay 1: Professional Goals

My journey in healthcare began as a personal mission and has grown into a professional commitment to advancing mental health care. Early experiences with untreated mental illness in my family shaped my determination to help reduce stigma and improve access to psychiatric services.

Over the next three to five years, I plan to transition from my current role as an ICU nurse at OhioHealth to a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. My goal is to continue growing within the OhioHealth system, contributing to integrated care models that address both physical and mental health needs, particularly for underserved and rural populations served by OhioHealth.

This scholarship would ease the financial burden of graduate education, allowing me to focus on academic excellence and clinical training. More importantly, it represents an investment in my development as a clinician committed to strengthening mental health services and advancing OhioHealths mission of compassionate, patient-centered care.

    Essay 2: Contribution to OhioHealth

Completing my PMHNP program at Franklin University will enhance nursing practice and patient care at OhioHealth. As an ICU nurse, I frequently care for patients whose recovery is complicated by undiagnosed or poorly managed mental health conditions.

Advanced psychiatric training will allow me to better recognize early signs of mental health distress, collaborate more effectively with consulting services, and advocate for timely, evidence-based interventions. By strengthening early identification, coordination, and continuity of mental health care, I aim to support safer discharges, reduce avoidable readmissions, and improve patient outcomes.

Additionally, my training will support OhioHealths integrated and virtual care initiatives by expanding access to mental health services for underserved populations. As a PMHNP, I also plan to serve as an educational resource for nursing staff, supporting holistic, patient-centered care across settings.

    Essay 3: Core Value

Among OhioHealths core values, compassion, excellence, integrity, stewardship, and inclusion, the value that best represents me is compassion.

Both my personal and professional experiences have shaped a deep sense of empathy toward individuals facing health challenges. I approach each patient with the understanding that healing extends beyond physical symptoms. As an ICU nurse, I integrate compassion into daily practice by providing emotional support, clear communication, and advocacy for patients and families during moments of fear and uncertainty.

Compassion also guides my collaboration with colleagues, fostering trust and teamwork in high-stress environments. I believe compassionate care is foundational to clinical excellence and patient safety. By embodying this value, I strive to build meaningful connections, improve patient experiences, and reflect OhioHealths commitment to dignity, humanity, and high-quality care.

Essay 4: Work & Community Involvement

In my role as a critical care nurse at OhioHealth, I go beyond assigned duties to support patients, families, and colleagues. I advocate for patients physical and psychological needs, educate families on complex care plans, and promote mental health awareness among staff. I also participate in unit-based activities, including staff meetings and Unit-Based Council discussions focused on patient safety, workflow efficiency, and responsible resource utilization to reduce waste and overspending. I have had the opportunity to precept a nursing student and welcome future opportunities to support new staff.

In the community, I volunteer with OhioHealths Mission Matters program at the Van Buren Homeless Shelter and serve as an active member of the Western Cameroonian Dynamic of Ohio, assisting immigrants with accessing healthcare and essential resources. These efforts reflect my commitment to service, stewardship, and equity.
