  • Contemporary Genre Projects

For the genre please use RAP*

    1) Pick a contemporary music (non-classical) genre that you are interested in exploring and declare your topic in the discussion board below. Examples include but are not limited to rap, rock, country, blues, bluegrass, reggae, punk, gospel, etc… Feel free to pick a specific sub-genre of one of the above. You may not pick a topic that has already been picked. However, you may have a different sub-genre as someone else, i.e. Hard Rock vs. Classic Rock. You must name your topic this week.

    2) Then research your genre and create your presentation. Create a presentation in powerpoint (PPT/PPTX) or PDF format. All modern presentation software (including Microsoft Powerpoint, LibreOffice Present, and Keynote) can export to either format.

Approach this project as if you are trying to explain this style of music to your curious grandmother (i.e. someone with know experience with the music).

Include the following, addressing each item in one or more slides:

    • Give a definition of the genre you chose. Examine at least 3 different definitions (wikipedia, various websites) and write your own original definition based on those.
    • Describe the time of popularity — when did it begin, peak, and fall out of favor (or is it still popular today?)
    • Describe origins: what country or area of the U.S. did it originate? Why did it start in that region? How was it “born”? (i.e. what other styles did it emerge from and what was different about it)
    • Highlight 3 prominent artists who best demonstrate this style. Describe their careers and contributions/significance to the style. Be sure to include name, dates lived or year born, instrument or voice and for each one link to or embed a YouTube video of their performances.
    • Describe any similarities or influences your genre has received from the Western art music (“classical”) tradition. It might feel like a stretch, but think about what elements they have in common. Consider instruments, forms, melody, harmony, etc… There is essentially no music today is NOT influenced by the European classical tradition (hint: Rap is the major exception here). Alternatively, does its development and/or message mirror any of the genres of classical music in some way?
    • Does your genre have non-Western influences? (instruments, harmonies, rhythms). The most prominent is the African musical/drumming/song form traditions that were brought to the Americas through the slave trade and freely mixed to create ragtime, blues, and jazz. Most popular musics have borrowed some elements of the above. Dig a little deeper and see what specifically applies in your genre.
    • How does your genre relate to other genres of popular or classical music?

    3) Provide a works cited page (web addresses, books, YouTube, etc.)

  • Psychology 200( Lifespan Psychology )

check citations, reference page, reflection on personal life connecting with different theories mentioned, ensure nice flow of ideas and check AI and plagarism

  • Unit 8 Neuroscience

In this assignment, you’ll explore the interesting topic of how the brain influences our behaviors. You will gain insights into how the brain responds to stress, the positive effects of mindfulness practices, and how excessive stress can impact cognitive functioning. Additionally, you will explore gender differences in brain structure and the role of biology in shaping both gender identity and sexual orientation. This knowledge, which directly links to unit readings and Seminar discussions, isn’t just intriguing; it can also be highly relevant to your future career and understanding of others with whom you interact.

Using the textbook and additional unit reading materials, explore brain function as it drives human behavior by completing all three parts in the .

    Part I

    • How does the brain’s processing of stress and response to mindfulness practices relate to specific brain structures and regions, and how do these processes influence behavior and emotional well-being?
    • Understanding how chronic stress and burnout can negatively impact cognitive function, discuss the importance of healthy behaviors and skills to cope with stress.
    • After reviewing the articles on burnout and the concept of mindfulness and its effects on the brain, what changes might you want to make in your own stress management practices?

    Part II

    • How do the structural differences in male and female brains, including variations in brain volume and connectivity, influence the cognitive and behavioral differences observed between genders, such as verbal ability, spatial ability, mathematical ability, and aggression?
    • Explain the role of biological factors in the development of gender identity. How do genetics and brain structures contribute to an individual’s understanding of their own gender?
    • Next, discuss the genetic, prenatal, and social factors that play a role in shaping the biological model of sexual orientation, with the understanding that sexual orientation drives sexual response and behavior.

    Part III

    • Recognizing the role of brain function in influencing human behavior holds significance for your future career. Select one of the topics covered in this assignment and elaborate on how your understanding of the neuroscientific material can be applied in your professional endeavors.

  • Peer-reviewed journal article

A properly formatted CMOS 18 author-date reference list citation for the peer-reviewed journal article you selected at the top of your post. Be sure you include the URL location of the article in the Trefry Library. Summarize the article in not more than 2 paragraphs. Provide two fully developed paragraphs of at least three sentences each (like an annotated bibliography). Therefore, you will need to select an article with sufficient content and write concisely. Do not include any quotes from the article in your summary. HINT: Be sure you read the required reading explaining how to read journal articles. Assess whether the information in the article you selected is applicable to the field. Could practitioners in the US IC use the information, or is it purely academic/theoretical? Provide one fully developed paragraph of at least three sentences in your assessment. Don’t forget to cite to give credit to the sources that informed your assessment of the article as practical or academic/theoretical.
  • Behavioral analysis of special education case study

Case Study Analysis For this you will apply your understanding of behavior to analyze a real-life Case Study and make recommendations to provide better behavior support. You will choose to focus on the Case Study of Robert or Edith (Harry & Klingner, 2022). All resources for this Project can be found on Canvas in Module 6; you will submit your Module 7 mid term 1. Case Studies of Robert and Edith can be found in this chapter (from Harry, B., & Klingner, J. (2022). Why are so many students of color in special education? Understanding race and disability in schools. Teachers College Press) (provided below) 2. High Leverage Practices Guide (provided below) 3. Directions: For your midterm, you will apply your understanding of behavior to analyze a case study. Choose to focus on the Case Study of Robert or Edith (Harry & Klingner, 2022). * Your paper will be 5-8 pages double-spaced, using APA format. The page count does not include the title or reference pages. You do not need to include an abstract. * Write out each question in full (sub-heading) and answer them individually Your paper should include the following sections and information: Introduction: Select the scenario you will be using in this paper (either Robert or Edith) and provide an analysis (from your own perspective and interpretation) of the profile, strengths, and needs, etc. of the student. In other words, provide your review of the relevant issues and factors related to the “student” you chose. In your review, consider this from the perspective of a Functional Behavior Analysis (FBA) Part 1 should address the following prompts: 1. Choose and describe the one targeted behavior that you would like to address in this paper. Remember, that this behavior is something that is objective, specific, and measurable. (Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP)) 1. For example: The student crossed his arms and looked down at his desk NOT The student was defiant. 2. Discuss and describe the antecedent (trigger) to this behavior? What is happening before the targeted behavior, issues that emerge, and ancillary activities that you deem relevant? 3. What are the consequences of this behavior? Describe both formal and informal consequences. For example, the formal consequence might be that the student gets sent out of the room; the informal consequence might be that the students classmates laugh. 4. What cultural considerations should be taken into consideration when trying to understand this behavior? 5. What function do you think this behavior serves? In other words, what result is the student hoping to accomplish by his actions? Culturally Responsive Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports In this section, you will pretend that Robert or Edith is about to transfer to your classroom. 1. Describe and discuss two specific, concrete steps you will take to integrate Robert or Edith into the classroom that fosters a consistent, organized, and responsive learning environment for them and the class. 2. Refer to the targeted behavior you already identified and discuss strategies you will use to address the behavior you identified in Part 1. 3. Explain how you will apply this strategy to support Edith or Robert in changing that behavior. Give specific, concrete examples addressing all recommended steps for implementation. Discussion and Conclusion: sum up your key arguments

  • Annotated Bib

Students are to read eight (8) theoretical articles that have been published in peer-reviewed journals during the last three years. Please note that the articles should be about theory or theoretical issues. The annotated bibliography will consist of a full APA citation for each article and a brief critique/summary. No more than three articles can come from one source (journal).

See the following link for examples:

This example includes an evaluation of the qualifications of the authors. It is NOT necessary for you to do that for this assignment.

Please note that Grounded Theory IS NOT A THEORY but a research methodology for generating theory. An article on grounded theory is not appropriate for this assignment, but a discussion of a theory generated by grounded theory research could be appropriate.

    1. Make sure the articles are from peer-reviewed journals within the past 3 years. You will be looking for articles that are about theory or a theoretical issue. Do not use an article that just has a “blurb” about a theoretical issue. I put in “nursing theory” into the CINAHL search engine and it produced over 119,000 articles! You can further narrow your search by focusing on particular area of interest, such as COVID. When I added COVID, it produced almost 4,000 articles. You will need 8 articles for this assignment.
    2. An annotated bibliography is a list of sources (books, articles, websites, etc.) with short paragraph about each source. For the purpose of this assignment, you will be using 8 peer-reviewed journal articles that are about nursing and theoretical issues. Annotations are about 4 to 6 sentences long (roughly 150 words), and address:
    • Main focus or purpose of the work
    • Usefulness or relevance to your topic
    • Special features of the work that were unique or helpful
    • Background and credibility of the author
    • Conclusions or observations reached by the author
    • Conclusions or observations reached by you
  • Hallucinogen Critical Report Psilocybin

This is a critical report for an Addiction Science class, followed by my presentation on Hallucinogen – psilocybin. 8-page, excluding Citations

Please utilize the uploaded powerpoint slides of my presentation as you can find plenty of information and research I did on the topic. The reference list may be helpful as I found most of the information on those. Please make my report relevant to the presentation, preferably discussing about similar topics on psilocybin. I attached the citations I used in the presentation as a separate word document if that makes it easier to access.

I have uploaded the full assignment information in the files as a word document. You can find all relevant info, grading rubric, and other information there. The grading goes very strict with citations, so please follow the citations rules in the document.

ENG 190 Project Resources In this course, you will complete a project. There are two parts: A research question and sources A persuasive essay supported by research For Part One, you will list the sources you will use in your persuasive essay and include a description of each source. For Part Two, you will write an essay that states your position on a topic and integrates evidence from the sources listed in Part One to support your key points. You will use at least three sources for the project. At least one article from this Project Resources and two sources that you find through your own research using the Shapiro Library. You may consult with your instructor or the Shapiro Library for recommendations on locating sources. This Project Resources provides a list of categories. Each category is linked to a research starter with background information. Review the categories and research starters. Then choose the category that most interests you. Next, review the articles related to that category to decide on a topic that you would like to research for the project. Review the Project Guidelines and Rubric in the Assignment Information section to better understand the requirements. If you would like to select a different category not on the list, contact your instructor for approval of your selection to ensure the topic is sufficiently debatable and researchable to write your persuasive essay. In this discussion, you will explore how two of your sources help you understand your topic by portraying diverse perspectives. Discussing challenges that face our world often means investigating opinions and ideas different from your own. Remember to remain thoughtful and respectful toward your peers and instructor in your initial and response discussion posts. Create one initial post and respond to at least two of your classmates. For your initial post, address the following: Identify your research question for the final project. Additionally, list the source that you selected from the Project Resources. Share links to two sources from the Shapiro Library that you have found through your library research. Describe how these two sources support your topic and research question. What different perspectives are represented in these two sources? Which voices are present in these sources, and how do the voices differ? For example, if you are writing about a four-day workweek, an economist, an employee, an employer, and a customer or client might all have different perspectives on this topic because a shortened work week impacts each of them in different ways. Do the voices and perspectives represented in these sources give a full or fair picture of whom the topic touches? If not, what perspectives do you need to consider as you continue your research? For your response posts, address the following: Comment on the sources that your peers shared and how these sources connect to the research questions. Share any recommendations that you might have for your peers. What other perspectives can you recommend for your peers to consider?
