    Describe:

This step involves a description of an assigned article or video. For this assignment, students carefully describe the important aspects of the video and what is distinctive about the teacher. This is done by recalling the important facts, examples, and ideas about the teacher.

The following questions must be addressed:

When describing the teacher, include the demographics of the students in addition to whether or not there are EL’s, students with special needs, etc.

After doing so, why do you think the teacher chose to use specific strategiesand techniques?

    Analyze:

The goal of this section is for students to describe the written or observed teaching strategy. Please include which types of students responded well to a particular approach and which dont? Why? Specify the reasons for the approachs effectiveness or ineffectiveness. This section is an opportunity to make a judgment for why a methodology works or fails and to link it to other teaching methodologies that have been addressed in our class readings and videos.

    Reflect:

In this section, consider how the teachers techniques made an impression on you. How will the teacher observation make you a better practitioner in your future classroom? Did/do you experience these methods as a student? How did the observation influence your own learning? Did the observation make you realize a deficiency in a particular area? If so, how will you seek help to address it? Conversely, if the observation revealed one of your strengths, how will you capitalize upon it?

Content: Details focus on topic; includes supporting details and/or examples; logical and effective; accurately cited in the desired APA format.

Students will be given a list of articles to choose from that will be posted in the class web page. All of the articles in the list will be posted as PDF files in the class web page. • Do mega-sporting events like the Olympics provide more benefits or drawbacks to host cities?

    Paper Structure and Content

    • Evidence: Support your claims with relevant evidence from scholarly sources in sport sociology. Integrate this evidence seamlessly into your argument, avoiding overly relying on quotations.
    • Critical Analysis: Demonstrate your ability to critically engage with existing literature and theories in sport sociology. Show how your position contributes to or challenges current understanding in the field.

    • Conclusion: Conclude your paper reaffirming your thesis statement summarizing how your position was the proper one to take.
