  • Essay 1

Theme topic:In this paper I want to address the constant violence against women. I will be addressing why perpetrators are never punished to the level they need to be, I will also be talking about the corrupt officials and how due to that and bias against women justice is never served to the full extent which leads to a low conviction rate. This is important to address because violence against women shows a lack of authority in Mexico. The lack of justice shows the work institutions, law enforments and democracy legitimacy needs as they all are being questioned due to this issue. All these issues lead to injustice that is a huge problem in contemporary Mexico. This issue also weakens democratic accountability as crimes are never investigated to the fullest ability and never solved which leads to citizen rights being neglected which leaves authorities accountable for the answers that are not given.

Why does the violence against women persist when women are supposed to be protected by officials?
