For this assignment you will interview a social work leader and then develop a PowerPoint presentation. (Only your presentation should be recorded, not the interview.) You will also conduct research on the information you gather from the interview and connect the supervisors skills and strategies to a leadership theory and advanced generalist best practices as a supervisor. please see attachment for the interview

In this weeks discussion, you will talk about the various forms that activism takes in both the real world and online. Review the following resources, and then provide a thoughtful reflection on the prompt below.

• Amnesty International E-Activism Guide (attached)
• This resource is specifically Amnesty Internationals E-Activism program. However, the tips and ideas they give can be applied to any social movement.

Choose an individual or social movement that you have come across. You may choose an individual or group from the resources above, or you may choose another individual/social movement aimed at stopping violence that you have come across elsewhere.

Critique their use of web-based mediums (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, etc.) and real world events/actions to promote their cause/social movement:

• How have they been effective?
• How could they make better use of online or real world forms of activism?
• What might you add or change?
• How can social movements best combine online and in-person forms of activism to promote their cause?

Instructions

Objective: The objective of this assignment is for the student to demonstrate the ability to organize and describe case material using cognitive and behavioral theories.

Assignment: The student should identify a case, either from their field-work or some other helping role to use for the paper. A brief bio-psycho-social-spiritual summary of the case should be provided (2-3 pages) that includes the presenting problem of the case as if it were being placed in a medical chart. Please see the detailed rubric located in the Getting Started section of this course. Using some of the examples used in class as a guide, the student should write up a case formulation in a narrative form (NOT a conceptualization chart). First, explain the target issue using behavioral theory, including the terms and concepts of the theory. Second, explain the target issue using a cognitive theory lens, also using the concepts and terms of the theory. Then using the combined CBT approach, describe the case in a NON-JARGON/CIENT FRIENDLY manner (can be written as a summary to a caregiver or colleague or as if you were speaking directly to the client). The connection between the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors should be clear as the student explains why the person is feeling, thinking and behaving in a way that they present to the worker. Students should follow the rubric located in the Getting Started section of the course. This paper should be no more than 7-8 pages. (Please note that “student” and “worker” are used interchangeably in this description)

1. One page journal/reflection: Start by discussing the concerns, feelings, and anxieties you have about initial meetings with clients. Think about concerns you may have about initial encounters where the client situation may involve domestic violence, child abuse, same-sex couples, and nonvoluntary or mandated clients. Are there particular types of clients you might struggle to work with? Are there people in society that you struggle to have empathy for? Then, discuss the concerns, feelings, and anxieties that clients might have when meeting with you or a social worker in general. Submit this assignment as a one page word document via Moodle by Sunday, Feb 15 at 11:55pm. Please note, this does not have to be APA format – just include your name at the top, and start typing; 12 point font, 1 inch margins.
