An individuals environment is influential because it is one of the social determinants of health. It gives more or less opportunity to eat healthy food or do physical activities, which is correlated to the obesity rate. Neighborhood designs such as walking and cycling are related to an increase in physical activity and a decrease in the obesity rate. Similarly, easier access to recreational spaces and green spaces can lead to more physical activity, which will help prevent obesity. The availability of grocery stores will make it easier for individuals to access low-calorie food. Because obesity is more related to eating habits, grocery stores are a big factor. Income levels are definitely a factor in obesity. Lower-income levels cannot afford healthier food; healthy food, such as organic food, is more costly. Fruits and vegetables that are fresh are usually more expensive. Additionally, expensive apartments or houses had good recreational spaces such as fitness facilities, swimming pools, or parks, so that we can exercise more often. Transportation is a big issue, especially in the U.S.A., because you cannot go to grocery stores if you dont have a car. This will limit eating healthy or low-calorie foods. On the other hand, high-income levels have abundant resources to eat a variety of food can also cause obesity.
health and the environment

The environment has a tool on people’s health. People can grow up in an environment where they don’t have much money have to take the bus to the nearest store and the only stores that are near them are convince stores. So, they just eat junk food which can lead to bad health. A positive environment can look like growing up in a neighborhood where they live close to a grocery store that sells healthy foods, and they have the money to afford a car and drive a few miles to get to the store. Different environments and ways people grow up can have an impact on their health.
Motivation and Health

I think motivation is like oil that keeps things running smoothly when you try to start something new. Without motivation, even simple healthy habits can feel heavy and difficult to begin. When motivation is present, it makes actions like exercising, eating better, or managing stress feel less forced and more natural. However, motivation does not always stay consistent, which is why small habits matter. Ive learned that starting with realistic goals helps motivation build over time instead of disappearing quickly. Even small progress can create momentum and make it easier to continue. In terms of health, motivation helps reduce resistance and makes lifestyle changes feel achievable. When motivation is treated as support rather than pressure, it becomes easier to maintain healthier choices in the long run.

Development Discussion
Part One:
Discussion: This week, we learned about Piaget’s stages of cognitive development, fixed vs. growth mindset, infant attachment, and parenting styles.
APPLICATION TASK: Try to apply your knowledge of Piaget’s stages to real-life examples.
- If you have young children, try experimenting some of Piaget’s tasks with your kids and tell us what happened.
- Object Permanence – Obscure an object and know it’s still there
- Egocentrism/Theory of Mind
- – Alter the volume, quantity, or size
- Deductive Reasoning – If you hit a glass with a feather, it will break
- Based on their understanding, what stage would you classify them at?
OR
APPLICATION TASK: Try to find pop culture examples of Baumrind’s Parenting Styles, Childhood Attachment styles, or people praising children using growth or fixed mindset.
- Find images or video clips of “TV families” or “TV children” who illustrate the concepts of specific parenting styles or attachment styles — Explain why you selected the label you did.
- Find video clips of parents or teachers who are praising children using fixed or growth mindset language. What is good or bad about their approach?
Here are some concepts from this week that you might reference:
- Piaget stages (sensorimotor, pre-operational, concrete operational, formal operational)
- Theory of mind/egotism
- Conservation tasks
- Attachment styles
Part Two:
This week, we learned about how behavior is learned and shaped using the principles of classical and operant conditioning. Respond to any of the following prompts:
- Provide an example from your life where you have been conditioned by something. How did you become conditioned? — explain whether you were conditioned through classical (learn by association) or operant conditioning (learn by rewards or punishments).
- Do you have pets? What have they been classically conditioned to? — Explain what the UCS, UCR, CS, and CR in your example.
- Do you have children? How do you typically reward or punish your children? Identify whether you are using positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, positive punishment, or negative punishment — be careful, these are tricky!
Here are some concepts from this week that you might discuss:
Lecture:
- Classical Conditioning (UCS, UCR, CS, CR)
- Acquisition
- Discrimination
- Extinction
Lecture:
- Operant conditioning
- Schedules of reinforcement (continuous, fixed-ratio, variable-ratio)
- Types of reinforcement (positive or negative)
- Types of punishment (positive or negative)
These do not have to be long, just as long as it thoroughly answers the question. At least a paragraph each maybe?
- If you have young children, try experimenting some of Piaget’s tasks with your kids and tell us what happened.

Data Science
The index of economic freedom dataset (2026 version) includes 12 variables for each country which fall into 4 pillars:Pillar#1 Rule of law- property rights, judicial effectiveness, and government integrity.Pillar#2 Government Size- tax burden, government spending, and fiscal health.Pillar#3 Regulatory Efficiency- Business freedom, labour freedom, and monetary freedom.Pillar#4 Open Markets- trade freedom, investment freedom, and financial freedom. One would refer to these 12 variables as the pillar variables. All these variables are index scores from 0 to 100. They are combined into an overall score and the name of the country and region of the world (Pacific, Europe, etc) are also given. See https://www.heritage.org/index/pages/about for further details. Task- Linear Models.Make sure you work through the checkpoint #2 Example and Exercises before you attempt this task. Include any R code and output directly in your report (not as an appendix). Where possible you must use R code from the R tidytidyverse (as used in lab worksheets for this module). Eg use read_csv() nnot read.csv(). Dataset for task 2: economic_freedom_2026_indieconomic_freedom_2026_individual.csv. you wish to use the 12 pillar variables to predict overall score using linear models(regression) in R.we are primarily concerned with critically assessing any linear models proposed and with model selection (which predictors to include in any final linear models recommended).use the R package “olsrr” (where appropriate) to help carry out this task (see https://cran.r-protect.org/web/packages/olsrr/vignettes/variable selection.html). Throughout this task, please take every opportunity to investigate the effect of region in your plots. 1) Briefly explain the acronym “AIC” used to compare models, why it is needed and how it is defined. Make sure you cite any sources used. 2) consider the following linear models.compare these models and summarise your results in a compact table. Include any R code and output directly in your report. You must clearly (i) justify, (ii) specify, (iii)fit, (iv) interpret and (v) critically evaluate all of the linear models that you suggest. Briefly discuss and compare what you notice about the predictors included in each model. Model #1: The linear model using only fiscal health and trade freedom to predict overall score? JUSTIFY your answer. Model #2: The best linear model to predict overall score that uses at most four of the 12 pillar variables as predictors. Model #3: The best linear model to predict overall score that uses variables from at most two of the pillars . Model #4: The best two predictor linear model to predict overall score for each region separately. How do these predictors relate to the pillars and which of these would you recommend as the best model? 3) considering the diagnostic plots produced by autopilot () corresponding to at most two (carefully selected) linear models from part (2). Discuss whether any of the countries in the dataset need further investigation. Fully justify any recommendations you make (be specific). Including any criteria you have applied.

Develop a 10-minute video presentation of a PowerPoint for a…
Develop a 10-minute video presentation of a PowerPoint for an audience, highlighting the fundamental principles of care coordination. Create a detailed narrative script on a Word document to accompany your presentation. This is a Kaltura recorded presentation showing a PPT with a detailed, narrative script (Word Doc) included in the submission.
Your effectiveness as a care coordinator has been observed by your boss, and they recognize the importance of educating other staff nurses in care coordination. Consequently, they asked you to develop a presentation for your colleagues on care coordination basics. By providing them with basic information about the care coordination process, you will assist them in taking on an expanded role in helping to manage the care coordination process and improve patient outcomes in your community care center.
Create a presentation focusing on the fundamental principles of care coordination. The intended audience is nursing colleagues (though you do not actually need to present to them if you choose not to). In your presentation, include:
- A narrative script.
- A video of you presenting the script with a PowerPoint presentation.
Your presentation should include the following:
- Effective strategies for collaborating with patients and families: Outline strategies for collaborating with patients and their families to achieve desired health outcomes.
- Consider drug-specific educational interventions and cultural competence strategies.
- Provide evidence to support the selected strategies. This could include research studies, best practices, or relevant literature.
- Aspects of change management and patient experience: Explain how aspects of change management directly impact elements of the patient experience.
- Explain how these aspects contribute to high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Consider factors such as communication, transitions of care, and patient engagement.
- Rationale for coordinated care plans: Explain the rationale behind coordinated care plans.
- Base your explanation on ethical decision-making.
- Discuss the reasonable implications and consequences of an ethical approach to care.
- Consider any underlying assumptions that may influence decision-making.
- Impact of healthcare policy provisions: Explain how specific healthcare policy provisions may impact outcomes and patient experiences.
- Discuss the logical implications and consequences of these provisions.
- Provide evidence to support your conclusions. This could include policy documents, research, or case studies.
- Nurse’s role in coordination and continuum of care: Raise awareness of the nurse’s vital role in care coordination and the continuum of care.
- Highlight how nurses contribute to high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Fine-tune your presentation to suit your audience
- Stay focused on key issues related to resources, ethics, and policy in care provision.
- APA formatting and references.
- Cite 35 credible sources from peer-reviewed journals or professional industry publications to support your presentation-these should be ON the PowerPoint and at the end of your script on the reference page
- Include your source citations on a references page appended to your narrative script.
Presentation Format and Length
- Narrative script: Write and submit a detailed narrative script in APA formatting for your video presentation, 35 pages in length. Include a properly formatted APA reference list at the end of the script. This script will be submitted to Turnitin.
- Video presentation: The video-based presentation of you presenting your PPT/script (as if you were presenting to an audience) should be no more than 10 minutes in length. You can record your presentation using Kaltura (recommended) or similar software. NOT YouTube.
- You are not required to deliver the presentation live to an actual audience
- You MUST create a PowerPoint presentation: You DO need to create a separate PowerPoint presentation for this assessment, and sources should be included on slides where appropriate.
- PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT a PPT presentation with speaker notes. This is a PPT presentation, a separate script you will read from while you narrate your presentation on a Kaltura video
- Remember to organize your content logically, engage your audience, and provide valuable insights into care coordination principles.
- Support your points with evidence from scholarly sources. Properly cite these sources using APA formatting.
