i-Human Case Study: EVALUATING AND MANAGING GENITOURINARY CONDITIONS

This weeks focus is on genitourinary (GU) conditions, which commonly affect adults across the lifespan. Symptoms such as urinary frequency, urgency, or dysuria can result from a range of conditions, including urinary tract infections, benign prostatic hyperplasia, kidney infections, or even prostate cancer. Many of these conditions have significant clinical implications and require a thorough and thoughtful evaluation. As an advanced practice nurse, it is essential to assess a patients personal, medical, and family history before determining the most appropriate physical exams and diagnostic tests.
For this Case Study Assignment, you will analyze an i-Human simulation of an adult patient presenting with a GU condition. Based on the case details, you will formulate a differential diagnosis, evaluate treatment options, and develop an evidence-based treatment plan to manage the patients condition effectively.
Resources

Business Question
There are 10 questions. All the details are provided in the photos I uploaded. Under each question is the time at which the question is being answered. For example, question 1,
“Defining Organizational Politics: According to the video, how are organizational politics defined, and what is the primary goal of the “actor” involved? [.” <<<< This is the seconds on the video at which question one is being answered. It says it under each question!
This is the link to the YouTube video, it is all the same video for all 10 questions. :

TRANSLATING ABA RESEARCH TO APPLIED SETTINGS
TRANSLATING ABA RESEARCH TO APPLIED SETTINGS
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) research in applied settings requires balancing the rigor of scientific methods with the unique practicalities of real-world environments, such as schools, clinics, homes, and community settings. In this assignment, you will review considerations for conducting ABA research in applied settings, emphasizing translational strategies that address common challenges and methodological adaptations. Be sure to support your work with citations to your sources throughout.
BASIC VS APPLIED RESEARCH
- First, compare and contrast basic research and applied research, defining each and addressing the benefits and challenges of both.
DOMAINS OF APPLIED BEHAVIOR ANALYSIS
- Next, review the domains of applied behavior analysis as described by Pilgrim (2024), define Translational Research/Science and explain how the translational approach can help to integrate these domains of behavior analysis.
CASE STUDY REVIEW
- Then, choose one of the case studies linked below. Summarize the topic being studied and the research design employed in the study. What type of single case or hybrid design was used? Based on your review of these research designs, was the chosen design appropriate? Why or why not? What strategies for measurement of behavior were used in the case study? Based on your review, were these appropriate? Why or why not? Finally, what are some practical concerns, including possibility of error or bias in measurement that might be posed by single-case and hybrid designs? Were these addressed in the case study you reviewed? Be sure to cite your readings to support your answers to these questions.
PRESENTATION TO STAKEHOLDERS
- Now, imagine that you are presenting the results of the study to client stakeholders, such as parents, teachers, caretakers, etc., in an applied setting such as a school, clinic, residential setting, or home therapy setting. Your goal is to help the stakeholders understand the importance of using evidence-based interventions that have been validated in the research literature. Avoiding excessive ABA jargon, describe the study, its results, and the usefulness of the research conclusions in contributing to socially significant behavior change in an applied behavior analysis setting. Why should the stakeholders consider an intervention based on this research? Be sure to base your explanation on at least 5 scholarly sources.
REFLECTION AND CONCLUSIONS
- Finally, reflect and conclude by considering the nature of translational research and the use of single-case research designs. Discuss how these approaches might benefit clients or populations you are interested in working with. What are some challenges that might be associated with translational approaches? List and discuss at least two challenges researchers might face when conducting research in applied settings. How might these challenges impact the outcomes or effectiveness of an intervention? Based on your readings, what are some considerations for the future of translational research/science
- The assignment should be a 46 page essay, not including the title and reference pages, and should include the following elements:
- Title page: Provide your name, title of assignment, course and section number, and date.
- Body: Answer all the questions in complete sentences and paragraphs.
- Your responses should reflect professional writing standards, using proper tone and language. The writing and writing style should be correct and accurate, and reflect knowledge of skills and practice of the profession.
- Reference page: Sources listed in current APA format.
- Include a minimum of five scholarly or academic sources to support your responses and conclusions.
- Use Arial or Times New Roman 12-point font, double-spaced and left aligned.
- Use standard 1″ margins on all sides.
- Use current APA formatting and citation style.

Bonding to Sound and Caries-Affected Dentin: Protocols for S…
Write a research paper about Bonding to Sound and Caries-Affected Dentin: Protocols for Successful Adhesion and Clinical Longevity.
Objectives:
- Describe the structural and clinical differences between Intact (Sound) and Caries-Affected Dentin.
- Describe the current protocols available for bonding dental adhesives to Intact (Sound) and Caries-Affected Dentin.

Requirements:
Guidelines for this literature review have been adapted from Production Guidelines for the Journal of Dental Education and must be followed for all Papers submitted (you will not be submitting this paper for publication). The paper will be assessed as Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory in the following 5 domains:

Research Methodology
Scientific Inquiry
Paper demonstrates competence in accessing and critically appraising literature:
– Paper includes a minimum of 8 literature sources (references) from the approved journal list.
– Paper references are derived from higher levels of evidenced-based research, e.g. systematic reviews / Meta analyses, randomized controlled clinical trials, non-randomized clinical trials rather than observational studies, case series and reports and expert opinions.
Conclusions reached in each learning objective are supported by evidence references.
The paper applies basic scientific knowledge into clinical application. Data found is transformed into a practical context.
Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
All learning objectives are addressed with demonstration of critical thinking and problem solving.
Critical thinking includes:
– gathering correct and applicable data from different sources.
– Evaluating alternative approaches.
– identifying priorities from data.
– connecting, comparing, contrasting and inferences across data.
– applying the identified data to formulate an answer to each learning objective.
– evaluating if the data found answers the learning objective effectively.
Problem solving includes:
– Student is able to demonstrate how the knowledge acquired from the literature applies to patient care (i.e. Solve a clinical challenge, prevent failure of treatment and/or adverse patient outcomes, improves procedural outcomes, etc).
– applying knowledge found into new questions and expanding the data search accordingly.
– formulate hypothesis and test these against literature searched.
Late will incur a deduction of points within the Professionalism Course 1549. Professional Responsibility domain.
This paper will be worth 30 points. A Satisfactory grade is required in all domains to achieve a full score of 30 points and to pass the course. Students receiving an Unsatisfactory grade in any component will be required to complete remediation with appropriate faculty, followed by paper review and resubmission for a maximum score of 21 points (70%).
