  • Healthcare Associated Infections

This assignment is connected to ORDER ID: 10290123, ORDER ID 10290270, and ORDER ID 10290529. For this assignment, I have to develop an online resource repository/website of at least 12 annotated professional or scholarly resources that are considered critical for the audience of the safety improvement plan to understand or implement to ensure the success of the plan. I will create the website, but can you provide me with the information below so that I can input on the website. Instructions: For this assessment, build on the work done in ORDER ID: 10290123, ORDER ID 10290270, and ORDER ID 10290529. I will create an online tool kit or resource repository that will help the audience of the in-service understand the research behind the safety improvement plan pertaining to a specific patient safety issue (Healthcare Associated Infections) and put the plan into action. I will use Google Sites for this assignment. Please assemble an online resource tool kit containing at least 12 annotated resources that are considered critical to the success of the safety improvement initiative. These resources should enable nurses and others to implement and maintain the safety improvement you have developed. It is recommended to focus and list the three or four most critical categories or themes with respect to your safety improvement initiative (Healthcare Associated Infections). For example, if your initiative concerns improving workplace safety for practitioners, you might choose broad themes such as general organizational safety and quality best practices; environmental safety and quality risks; individual strategies to improve personal and team safety; and process best practices for reporting and improving environmental safety issues. Following the recommended scheme, you would collect at least three resources on average for each of the four categories. Each resource listing should include the following: An APA-formatted citation of the resource with a working link. A description of the information, skills, or tools provided by the resource. A brief explanation of how the resource can help nurses better understand or implement the safety improvement initiative. A description of how nurses can use this resource and when its use may be appropriate. Here is an example entry: Ko, S., Hsieh, M., & Huang, R. (2023). Human error analysis and modeling of medication-related adverse events in Taiwan using the human factors analysis and classification system regression. Healthcare, 11(14), 2063. https://doi.org/10.3390/healthcare11142063 o Nurses have a crucial responsibility in preventing medication errors. They should follow the “five rights of medication” to reduce the risk of such errors. These include the “right patient,” “right medication,” “right time,” “right dose,” and “right documentation.” By understanding these rights, nurses can manage medication administration effectively and ensure patient safety. Additionally, be sure that your plan addresses the following, which corresponds to the grading criteria in the rubric. Please study the rubric carefully so you understand what is needed for a distinguished score. Identify necessary resources to support the implementation and sustainability of a safety improvement initiative. Analyze the usefulness of resources to the role group responsible for implementing quality and safety improvements. Analyze the value of resources to reduce patient safety risk. Present reasons and relevant situations for use of resource tool kit by its target audience. Communicate resource tool kit in Google Sites in a clear, logically structured, and professional manner that partially follows APA style and formatting. Keep in mind that the tool kit will focus on promoting safety with the quality issue: Healthcare Associated Infections. Number of resources: Your tool kit must include at least 12 professional or academically relevant resources that support the continued learning and implementation of knowledge and processes related to a safety improvement initiative. APA format: Use proper APA formatting for in-text citations and each annotated resource. Please provide a title for the safety plan that will be used for the home page of the website. Please also provide an introduction/description for the resource/website home page. Example: This tool kit contains information that can be used to improve heparin infusion safety. Preventing medication errors, heparin dosing and lab monitoring, and nurse-driven protocols all work to increase nursing knowledge and heparin medication administration safety. Each area of interest contains 4 or more resources. Links to articles are included. Please also refer to the attached rubric.

I would recommend therapy, specifically cognitive behavior therapy, to begin providing treatment to Tom for his internet addiction. Due to the fact that therapy can also assist in skill development such as social skills, Tom could use those skills to meet people in person and limit his internet addiction (Hoffman & Froemke, 2007). Motivational interviewing techniques may also be useful, but given his recognition of addiction, therapy could be the starting point to determine his level of motivation to quit or wean from such intense internet use.

Because the internet is so widely used, there is almost no way in todays age to abstain from internet use. Rotgers et al (2002) discuss the moderation management technique for addictive behaviors, and that model appears to be best suited for Toms internet use. The harm reduction model can also acknowledge that internet addiction is not currently in the DSM-V, and that there is an inherent need for internet use for various aspects of everyday life. Utilizing therapy and moderation management, I believe Tom could still use the internet without guilt or negative work-life ramifications, while also honing social skills to improve in-person social events instead of just online chat rooms.

Cons of the disease model would be that there is no way to live life today without internet use, and abstaining from internet use is almost impossible. Additionally, I believe with other addictions that have documented physical ramifications, there would be no means to treat internet addiction via detoxification and inpatient care (Hoffman & Froemke, 2007).

    CLEOLA

Tom seems like he is dealing with internet use that is messing up his sleep and work, but he is not totally out of control yet. I think combining harm reduction with cognitive behavioral therapy could work well for him. It is early for him to see this as a big problem, so pushing for no internet at all might not stick. Instead, focusing on cutting back the harm without forcing everything to stop right away feels more realistic.

The disease model treats addiction like a sickness that needs full abstinence. For Tom, that would mean quitting chat rooms completely, which sounds tough because online stuff is part of everyday life now. It works for really bad cases, but here it might just make him push back. Those twelve step things stress giving up and group support, based on what I read from that Center for Substance Abuse Treatment back in 1999, but Tom might not be ready to jump into that.

Harm reduction is different, it lets him ease into changes, like setting time limits online or fixing his sleep habits. The good part is it starts where he is at, so he does not feel forced. But without some rules or checking in, things might drag on slowly, I am not totally sure.

CBT stands out because it can help spot those bad thoughts about being lonely or avoiding people after his breakup. He could learn better ways to handle that. Psychotherapy might dig into the emotions from the split and build social skills too. Contingency management, where you reward good habits like sleeping on time or less screen, could help reinforce stuff. Meds are not needed yet, unless anxiety or depression shows up more.

This mix of harm reduction and therapies seems balanced for Tom, though it gets a bit messy figuring out the details. Some approaches push hard for no use at all, others ease in, and the difference matters depending on how ready someone feels.

  • Teach a Child

Instructions Select one brain structure from the list below to focus on in your teaching aid: Brocas area. Wernickes area. Thalamus. Hypothalamus. Pons. Reticular formation. Cerebellum. Develop a teaching aid to explain to a 10-year-old child the way the brain communicates. Be sure to cite your sources. The final product should answer the following questions: Explain how neurons communicate. How do neurons work? How do they talk to each other? What happens to leftover transmitters? Consider including the following: Resting potential, graded potential, action potential. Neurotransmission release. Excitatory postsynaptic potential or inhibitory neuron potential. Explain the functions of the area of the brain you chose from the list above. Helpful tip: Start by reviewing the readings and creating bullet points for each step. Then reword your bullet points in different ways until you find one that is clear, simple, and easy to understand. You might consider using metaphors if it helps. • Discussion 4: Bad Intentions & Regret in the Early 20th Cent…

Please be sure to write at least 300 words this week and write about at least two of the three stories.

Cruelty and Spectacle in Meyrink’s “Man in the Bottle”

“Man in the Bottle” is sometimes called a conte cruel, which essentially means cruel tale, and it focuses on how cruelty can sometimes be seen as entertainment when presented as a spectacle. After the count is dropped into the bottle, the partygoers enjoy his torment and ultimate suffocation as though it’s production, and it’s not until they notice the lady in the sedan chair is the princess, gagged and tied, that they realize the truth of what has happened. Relate details of this story to a modern-day example of people (witnesses) watching something horrible happen without intervening (similar to the bystander effect).

    Freeman’s Vampire?

Freeman’s Luella Miller does not actually suck blood; she is not immortal, nor does she exhibit any of the superhuman powers sometimes attributed to vampires. Nevertheless, she does seem to zap the life force from every person who attempts to care for her. She proves time and time again that she is utterly helpless and infantile, thus critics have sometimes suggested that this story is less about the supernatural and more a critique of the social structures of women during the late Victorian time period. Upper-class elite women were often encouraged to simply “be beautiful and consume.” Of course, this led to a generation of useless, helpless women, and the work still needed to be done (mostly by an army of servants and help). Therefore, critics have sometimes called Freeman a “Marxist Feminist,” suggesting that her notion of feminism dovetailed with the idea of marxism–“from each, according to his ability.” Clearly, Luella is able but also unwilling. So, what do you think Freeman is suggesting in relation to this idea of feminism? A critique of social classes? Is this a critique of gender roles and the Victorian ideal for women or is this simply a different type of vampire? (Need help? See “Blood Sucking Structures” in weekly module for further reading.)

    Delusion or Reality?

In Wells’ “The Door in the Wall,” we hear Lionel Wallace’s story about finding a magical door in a wall as a child. Over the years, he disregards the opportunities to go through the door, choosing instead to continue with his education, career, etc. But, as he ages, he desperately seeks the door, desiring a return to the enchanted garden he experienced as a child. Is this a story of a delusional man? Is this a story about valuing and/or recapturing youth? Is this a story about regret and unmade choices? And, ultimately, do you believe the door really exists?

I believe there are two huge factors that contribute to people being able to keep a healthy weight. The two influences are socioeconomic and cultural. It really depends on whether someone has access to affordable, nutritious foods. Some individuals don’t have safe spaces or access to gyms or health education, and all of that matters significantly. According to the CDC, obesity is influenced by multiple environmental and social factors, including access to physical activity and healthy foods (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2024). Another important component is stress, as the American Psychological Association explains that stress can influence eating behaviors and overeating comfort foods (American Psychological Association, 2023). Based on things I have seen and learned throughout my life, when people are educated and have the option to healthier food choices that are affordable, it is much more realistic to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

In my opinion, the most important factor that influences a persons ability to maintain a healthy weight is their environment, especially the combination of stress, access to food, and daily routines. Ive seen this play out in my own life and in the people around me. When someone is juggling work, family responsibilities, and constant stress, it becomes incredibly easy to rely on whatever food is quick, cheap, and comforting. That doesnt mean people dont care about their health it just means life gets heavy, and food becomes a coping tool or a convenience.

Research supports this idea that stress and environment shape eating patterns more than willpower alone. Chronic stress can increase cravings for highcalorie foods, making weight maintenance harder (American Psychological Association, 2023). On top of that, many communities have easier access to fast food than to affordable fresh options, which influences what people end up eating day to day (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2024). Ive noticed this in my own community when healthy choices require more time, money, or planning, people naturally fall back on whats available.

Cultural habits also play a role. Many of us grew up in families where food was tied to comfort, celebration, or coping, and those patterns follow us into adulthood. Studies show that cultural norms and family routines strongly influence longterm eating behaviors (Thompson & Manore, 2018). When you combine those habits with stress and limited access to healthier foods, maintaining a healthy weight becomes more complicated than simply eating better.

For me, this all reinforces the idea that weight is shaped by reallife circumstances not just personal choices and that people do the best they can with the environment theyre in

Words should be clearly enunciated, and a professional tone should be sustained throughout the presentation narration. Audio recording should be free of background noise and interruptions. For assistance with embedding the audio into your PowerPoint presentation, please make use of this tutorial. Directions Your 8- to 10-slide requirement is excluding your title, introduction, and reference slides. Use one basic slide design and layout. Text large enough to be read by your audience (font size 2034 points). Limit slides to between 6 and 8 lines of content. You may use pictures, charts, and graphs to supplement your material as long as they do not take up the entire slide. Use bullets for your main points. Use speaker notes to fully explain what is being discussed in the bullet points as though you are presenting to an audience, being sure to follow the Standard English (correct grammar, punctuation, etc.). Viewpoint and purpose should be clearly established and sustained. Presentation should be well-ordered, logical, and unified, as well as original and insightful. Your work should display superior content, organization, style, and mechanics. Appropriate citation style should be followed. You should also make sure to: Use examples to support your discussion. Cite all sources on a separate reference slide at the end of your PowerPoint and reference and cite within the body of the presentation using APA format and citation style. Your old professor from Purdue Global is retiring from many years as a trial judge. He hires you to help him start a small law firm specializing in ADR. While he has experience in mediation and arbitration, he is unfamiliar with some newer but less common forms, such as private judging, summary jury trials, and mini-trials. He asks you to prepare a PowerPoint presentation summarizing them for him. You need to concentrate on the following items: List the requirements and procedures for each of these forms of ADR. Compare the advantages to a potential client in using each form. Analyze what procedures your firm would utilize in representing a client in each form. Contrast the effectiveness of each form compared to pursuing litigation through trial. Here are the recommended topics for your slides: Slide 1: Cover slideThis slide should include a title for the presentation and the name of the student presenting the PowerPoint. Slide 2: List the requirements and procedure for each of these forms of ADR. Slide 3: List the requirements and procedure for each of these forms of ADR (continuation of slide 2). Slide 4: Compare the advantages to a potential client in using each form. Slide 5: Compare the advantages to a potential client in using each form (continuation of slide 4). Slide 6: Analyze what procedures your firm would utilize in representing a client in each form. Slide 7: Contrast the effectiveness of each form compared to pursuing litigation through trial. Slide 8: List of references. The Unit 10 Assignment should contain 8 slides, including the title page and reference page, and meet the following APA format requirements.

Questions must be at least 250 words each, please have the page number found for each answer

    Questions for discussion board:

    1. You have read many applications of cognitive dissonance theory. Provide a definition of the term post-decision dissonance and an example that you have observedin your own life, among your friends and family members, or in the news.

    2. What are ways that people maintain their self-esteem when it is threatened based on the readings and course materials from this module (name and describe at least 3 ways). What do you and/or your friends do when put in a situation that is somewhat esteem-threatening.

    3. Think of two examples from your own life in which your views of yourself have been shaped by your parents, friends, teachers, or culture. To what extent are these examples consistent or inconsistent with the research discussed in course materials on the self?

    4. How does justification of effort (or cognitive dissonance, in general) help explain why hazing and initiation rites are common across so many different groups? Make sure to give real life examples ( give the recent death of the boy at NAU who passed due to hazing), and how cognitive dissonance could be at work.
