  • 566: Module 4 Discussion: Advocacy and Activism

    Topic

In this weeks discussion, you will talk about the various forms that activism takes in both the real world and online. Review the following resources, and then provide a thoughtful reflection on the prompt below.

    • Amnesty International E-Activism Guide (attached)
    • This resource is specifically Amnesty Internationals E-Activism program. However, the tips and ideas they give can be applied to any social movement.

Choose an individual or social movement that you have come across. You may choose an individual or group from the resources above, or you may choose another individual/social movement aimed at stopping violence that you have come across elsewhere.

Critique their use of web-based mediums (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, etc.) and real world events/actions to promote their cause/social movement:

    • How have they been effective?
    • How could they make better use of online or real world forms of activism?
    • What might you add or change?
    • How can social movements best combine online and in-person forms of activism to promote their cause?

Responses: once the writing part is done, I will send the 1 peer post for you to respond too.

    Please remember:

    • Writing should be thoughtful, reflective, and should make connections with the assigned topic. You are expected to think critically and cite information from the readings including those found in the module and those assigned for the discussion.
    • Where relevant, please incorporate readings into your response and remember to properly cite when using others’ words and/or ideas.

  • Research paper on 9/11

Im looking for someone to write a six-page research paper about 9/11 for a sixth grader. The paper needs to sound like it was written by a sixth grader, using age-appropriate language and vocabulary at a sixth-grade level. The school uses both a plagiarism checker and an AI detection system, so it must be original and written carefully.

The first six pages should be the research paper itself, and the seventh page must be a Works Cited page. The paper must include two books, one magazine article, and two websites as sources.

It also needs to be formatted in MLA style, including proper parenthetical citations throughout the paper and a correctly formatted MLA Works Cited page.

  • ENGL1102 Sources Paper

I have attached the document below, which contains all the necessary information. For this assignment, I would like my sources paper to be based on the African American Panoramic Experience Museum (APEX) located in Atlanta, Georgia website is highlighted in the link of the sources paper document, but I will attach it here https://www.apexmuseum.org/

The rubric for the grading scale is also attached at the end of the document provided. Previously, before this assignment, we did have an extra credit assignment to do a thesis statement, the thesis I submitted was: The African American Panoramic Experience Museum acts as a counterpublic, focusing on African American history and designs rooted in African American culture, which collectively defines its intended audience as those already connected to, or seeking assurance from, that cultural community, rather than the general public.

While my previous thesis statement has not been graded yet, I can revise it. If you could make it stronger, that would be fine as well.

When it comes to sources, the main source is the museum’s website, and then making sure to cite it in the paper when referencing different things.

Overall, everything is supposed to be in MLA 9 format. thank you!
