i will send you a paper that i need it to be checked.

  • Explain why a pencil appears bent when it is partially subme…

When light travels from water (denser) to air (rarer), it speeds up and bends away from the normal (an imaginary vertical line). Since our brains assume light travels in a straight line, we trace these bent rays back to a higher position. This creates an apparent depth that is shallower than the actual depth, making the submerged part look shifted or “bent” at the surface.

This section made me think more about how self-control and inner discipline are important for living a moral life. Kant explains that people often act based on their desires, but true morality comes from being able to control those desires and act according to reason instead. What stood out to me most was his idea that we have a duty to ourselves, not just to others, especially when it comes to maintaining our own dignity and self-respect. He argues that letting impulses control us can actually go against our moral worth. This made me realize that morality is not just about how we treat other people, but also how we treat ourselves. I also found it interesting that Kant believes self-discipline is what allows us to be truly free, not just doing whatever we feel like. It helped me understand that freedom and responsibility are closely connected, and that being moral requires effort and self-awareness. fix the ai and rewrite it please. make it simple and casual based off this reading Daily Reflection – Kant, Metaphysics of Morals, Chapter I, pp. 69-73; Analysis, pp. 21-23

  • International Law

International Law is a set of rules, agreements, and treaties that govern the relationships between independent countries (sovereign states) and international organizations.

Simply put, while domestic law governs the behavior of citizens within a specific country, international law dictates how different nations interact with one another on the global stage.

    Types of International Law

    • Public International Law: This deals directly with the relationships between nations and international entities (like the United Nations). It covers matters such as border disputes, the law of the sea, and the rules of war.
    • Private International Law (Conflict of Laws): This resolves disputes between private individuals or businesses across international borders. For example, if a company in India has a contract dispute with a company in the US, this law helps determine which country’s legal system has jurisdiction to hear the case.
    • Supranational Law: This applies when nations surrender some of their sovereign rights to a higher international authority, and the laws of that organization supersede national laws (the European Union is a primary example).

    Key Areas of Focus

    • Human Rights: Protecting fundamental human rights and freedoms across the globe.
    • War and Armed Conflict: Regulating the conduct of war, ensuring the protection of civilians and prisoners of war, and maintaining peace (International Humanitarian Law).
    • International Trade: Establishing rules for global commerce and resolving economic disputes (often through bodies like the World Trade Organization).
    • Environment: Creating global agreements to combat climate change, pollution, and the depletion of natural resources (such as the Paris Agreement).
    • Diplomatic Relations: Setting the rules for how embassies operate and protecting the rights and immunities of diplomats and ambassadors.

    How is it Enforced?

Unlike a country’s national laws, there is no single “global police force” or world government to forcefully impose international law. It relies heavily on consent and cooperation.

    • Countries voluntarily sign treaties and agreements, committing themselves to follow the agreed-upon rules.
    • When major disputes or violations occur, they are often addressed through diplomacy, economic sanctions, or international tribunals like the International Court of Justice (ICJ) or the International Criminal Court (ICC). Organizations like the United Nations (UN) also play a crucial role in managing conflicts and maintaining international security.

  • Scenario Based Strategic Management Project

Strategic Management Scenario: Assume you have recently assumed the role of Chief

Executive Officer (CEO) of a company that manufactures and sells products in the Pet Supplies

industry in the U.S. and Canada.U2Your current product portfolio consists of a variety of

products for dogs and cats including toys, electronic litter boxes, grooming products, collars and

leashes, feeding bowls, and automatic feeders. As the new CEO you are charged with the task

of recommending a new strategy to the companys Board of Directors that will allow the firm to

grow and improve its profits and revenues. The three strategic options you have been asked to

consider are: (1) a diversification move into a Related industry,Walmart (2) a diversification move into

an Unrelated industry, and (3) Geographic diversification into either Asia or Europe.Guam You are

responsible for fleshing out the details of and making a specific recommendation for each of

these three strategic options. This means identifying a related industry to diversify into,

identifying an unrelated industry to diversify into, and identifying an international strategy

(Global, Multidomestic, or Transnational) to use to compete in either Asia or Europe. Albania

Please note that the board is looking for THREE total decision alternatives that these are the

SAME THREE decision alternatives that you should include and discuss in the 1) Decision

Alternatives and the 2) Implications of Decision Alternatives sections on the next page.

    Report

This is NOT a research project. This project should be based on material you learned in this

course this semester and in the other business courses you have taken. This project is largely

based on the material from chapters 7 and 8 in the textbook. Thus, your answers should also

be based on this material. Your answers should NOT be based on Google searches and/or other

material you found on the Internet. Further, as per the syllabus, the use of generative AI tools

    is prohibited on this assignment.

In a well-written, typed, 5-7 page, double-spaced essay carefully address the questions below.

Keep in mind that the non-bolded and lined-through questions are general Gen Ed questions

for university curriculum assessment. The bolded questions are specific to the scenario for this

project and that is what you should address and answer. In other words, by answering the

bolded questions you are answering the more general questions but with more specificity

relative to the given scenario. So, you only need to address the bolded questions.

    1) Decision Alternatives – What do you see as plausible decision alternatives to the business

scenario you have been provided? Describe at least three alternatives; each should be discussed

in detail and address different stakeholder perspectives.

What three strategic options/decision alternatives have you identified for your company?

How would these alternative strategies impact the companys current shareholders,

    employees, and suppliers?

    2) Implications of Decision Alternatives – What would be the implications of each decision

alternative? Describe any ethical implications associated with each of the decision alternatives.

Explain the implications of each of your three decision alternatives on local and global

communities. Specifically, what impact does each alternative have on the U.S. market (i.e.,

local employment and tax revenues) and the natural environment? Describe any ethical

implications associated with these decision alternatives.

    3) Recommendation – What should the strategy be so that the company is best positioned

    under each decision alternative?

Which one of the three decision alternatives do you recommend and why? Make sure you

fully describe your choice and explain/justify why it was chosen.

    4) Functional Implications – As implications of your recommended decision, what are the

actions needed in the next year for each function in the company: Marketing, Finance, Human

    Resource, Technology, Operations, etc.?

Describe the impact of your chosen decision alternative on how various functional area

strategies should be performed. As examples, what must be done in manufacturing,

marketing, and human resources so that these functions support your chosen strategy? You

must address at least three functional areas.

    5) Reflection Paper and Feedback

After completion of your Report, you will be placed into groups where you and your group

members will be required to read and provide meaningful feedback on each others

assignments. This feedback should relate to the actual content of the report (versus grammar,

punctuation, and other style-related issues). You will then be required to submit a reflection

paper on what you would do differently based on the feedback provided by your group

member(s). In this reflection paper, you will clearly document the questions/comments

received and how you might consider changes in your report based on that feedback. You will

also be required to submit the feedback you provided to your group member(s). Providing

timely and meaningful feedback and reflecting on the feedback you were provided is NOT an

optional part of the project. Your reflection paper should be 2 pages in length not including

the feedback you provided to or received from your group members.

    Formatting of Project

The entire project should be well-written, typed, and double spaced. You should also include a

title page and table of contents which does NOT count towards the page requirements. Large

amounts of copied or quoted material, project guideline questions, and adjusting settings in

Word (like line spacing, margins, font size and/or type, word spacing, etc.) will also not count

towards meeting the page requirements. Finally, you should use the five bolded 1 to 4 word

headings from the above guidelines to clearly delineate the different sections of your report.

    Project Recap

Based on the above guidelines, here is a recap of what is due for this assignment:

    1) Report – 5-7 pages addressing the first 4 questions/items listed in the middle of the

    guidelines.

    2) Reflection Paper and Feedback (question/item 5 above) consisting of three items:

    a) A 2-page reflection paper on what you would do differently based on the feedback

    you received.

    b) The feedback you received from your group members.

    c) The feedback you provided to your group members.

I will create random groups in Canvas before the due date for the Report so that you can

complete the feedback portion of this assignment in item 2. You will be able to see which

group you are in by going into the People menu item in Canvas and then the Scenario Based

    Strategic Management Project Groups tab.
