Purpose:
To explore how nursing theories inform and enhance evidence-based practice (EBP). Students will select a nursing theory and critically analyze its integration into EBP, demonstrating how theoretical frameworks guide clinical decision-making and improve patient outcomes which can be used as a framework for a future evidence-based project.

- Theory Selection
- Choose a nursing theory (grand or middle range) that aligns with your clinical interests or specialty.
- Provide a rationale for your selection, including its relevance to current healthcare challenges.
- Theory Overview
- Summarize the theorys origin, key concepts, and structure.
- Highlight the theorists background and the historical context of the theorys development.
- Evidence-Based Practice Connection
- Define EBP and its significance in nursing.
- Analyze how the selected theory supports or enhances EBP.
- Discuss specific examples of how theory-guided practice leads to improved patient care, safety, or outcomes.
- Clinical Application
- Identify a clinical scenario or population where the theory and EBP intersect.
- Describe how the theory informs assessment, intervention, and evaluation in this context.
- Include relevant research studies or guidelines that support your application.
- Critical Reflection
- Reflect on how integrating theory with EBP influences your clinical reasoning and professional identity.
- Consider barriers to theory-based practice and propose strategies to overcome them.
Submission Instructions:
- The PowerPoint presentation is original work and logically organized. It should consist of 10-15 slides excluding the title and reference.
