In Chapter 5, we explored how infants begin to enter the social world and develop emotional bonds with their caregivers. This short icebreaker discussion invites you to think about the social and emotional needs of newborns and to reflect on caregiving from both a developmental and personal perspective.

    Initial Post Requirements

In your initial post, respond to the following prompts:

    1. What social and emotional factors do you think are most important when caring for a newborn?
    2. What do caregivers need to do to help a newborn feel safe and secure?
    3. How would you personally take care of a new baby if needed (either your own or one you were asked to watch for a period of time)?
    4. When do you think babies begin to recognize their caregivers? What signs or behaviors would indicate this recognition?

There are no right or wrong answers for this icebreakerfocus on sharing your thoughts and experiences.

  • Impact of artificial intelligence on human cognition

I have an assignment that requires me to write an argumentative research paper examining the impact of artificial intelligence on human cognition. The focus of my paper is on the argument that increasing reliance on artificial intelligence can reduce human cognitive abilities, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and independent decision-making. As AI tools become more integrated into daily life, education, and professional environments, there is growing concern that humans may begin to depend on these systems rather than actively engaging their own mental processes. This paper aims to explore whether artificial intelligence enhances human efficiency at the cost of weakening essential cognitive skills, while also considering opposing perspectives and supporting the argument with credible research and real-world examples.
  • fundamental principles of management

For this assessment, choose a time where you had to manage a specific event or project. This does not need to be in a business setting. For example, you could have led a social event, a project, or you can use your own work experience.

In your chosen format, describe characteristics effective managers should do as well as how they should behave. You will also describe the planning process that made this project or event successful.

In your assessment, include the following:

    • Describe characteristics of effective managers that would relate to your situation.
      • For example, how would a manager demonstrating resilience positively influence the outcome of your event or project?
    • Explain how managers should behave to be effective in the situation.
    • Describe how a manager should plan for the situation to be successful.

    Notes:

    • Use Microsoft Word if you are doing the fact sheet. You can upload the Word document as your submission.

  • Healthcare system reform and financing models

Your country is debating how to reform its healthcare system. Some argue for marketbased strategies (competition, private financing, price transparency), while others prefer governmentled financing to correct market failures and promote equitable access. Hybrid approaches blend both. Task: Using concepts from market failure and financing models, which approachmarketbased, governmentled, or hybridbest balances efficiency, equity, and sustainability? In your response, briefly address: How resources should be allocated within the healthcare system. How supply and demand operate or fail within key medical markets. How hospital market structuresuch as competition, consolidation, or pricing powershapes system performance. Use realworld examples and the video to support your reasoning. This discussion aligns with LO 8, 11, 15. You tube link for this assignment Grading Criteria This assignment is worth 100 points (35% of grade). Please refer to the discussion grading rubric. Initial Post: Your initial discussion post should be at least 150 words in length. Support your work with at least two credible references, cited in APA format (both in-text citations and a reference list). References may come from module readings or other credible academic sources (e.g., journal articles, books, reputable websites).
  • Best Practices Recommendations

A formal search of the literature is an integral part of the research and evaluation process. After identifying a research problem, a topic for a study, or a practice problem, the researcher must begin to gather as much information as possible about the topic. Beyond anecdotal or artifact types of information, the content of scholarly articlesfound in various databases and on the Internetrepresent the core of the review of the literature.

For this assignment, the review of the literature serves the purpose of systematically examining the existing literature, research, and scholarly works, analyzing, and synthesizing the information relevant to the practice problem identified in the scenario. This will assist you in making informed evidence based intervention recommendations to address the hypothetical scenario presented in the instructions below. You will use this same scenario and the results of your literature review for the Weeks 8 and 9 assignments

By successfully completing this assignment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following EPAS and practice behaviors:

C1: Demonstrate Ethical and Professional Behavior.

    • C1.GP.A Make ethical decisions by applying the standards of the NASW Code of Ethics, relevant laws and regulations, models for ethical decision-making, ethical conduct of research, and additional codes of ethics as appropriate to context.
    • Select two interventions based on critical analysis and ethical practice.
    • C1.GP.C Demonstrate professional demeanor in behavior, appearance, and oral, written, and electronic communication.
    • Convey purpose, in an appropriate tone and style, incorporating supporting evidence and adhering to organizational, professional, and scholarly writing standard.

C4: Engage In Practice-informed Research and Research-informed Practice.

    • C4.GP.A Use practice experience and theory to inform scientific inquiry and research.
    • Formulate a research question based on a scenario.
    • C4.GP.B Apply critical thinking to engage in analysis of quantitative and qualitative research methods and research findings.
    • Critically analyze how a search of the literature on the topic can inform the researcher and influence the design process employed for research and evaluation.
    • C4.GP.C Use and translate research evidence to inform and improve practice, policy, and service delivery.
    • Evaluate the major findings of the sources relevant to the topic.

C9: Evaluate Practice with Individuals, Families, Groups, Organizations, and Communities.

    • C9.GP.C Critically analyze, monitor, and evaluate intervention and program processes and outcomes.
    • Evaluate the credibility of the sources relevant to the topic

    Instructions

Scenario: The city of Erickson has allocated 4 million dollars to develop an outpatient mental health treatment center for people in the community facing housing insecurity or those who are unhoused. They have asked you to recommend two best practice intervention methods for the new service.

    1. Consider the mission of the clinic, the setting, and the task assigned to you (recommendation of two best practice intervention methods based on the evidence) and formulate a research question based on what you have been asked to do in this scenario.
    2. Review the literature relevant to your assignment task and your research question. Use and cite at least seven sources (peer reviewed, academic/scholarly, recently published) related to your topic of housing insecurity, mental health and community programs. Consider the following as you review the sources.
    • Evaluate the major findings of the sources, comparing and contrasting the information:
    • What do you know about the origins, prevalence, and correlates of the problem?
    • What are the major themes or take aways of your review?
    • How is the information similar or different?
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of the approaches presented.
    • Evaluate how these sources might be applied to the scenario presented to create a new service model, e.g., your recommendations.
    1. Evaluate the credibility of your sources including a rationale for inclusion.
    • Consider the following in your evaluation:
    • Publication dates.
    • Type of publication.
    • Peer reviewed, academic, scholarly.
    • Type of information presented, e.g., research based, methods employed, expert opinion, etc.
    • Author information, credentials.
    • How they added to your knowledge and informed the recommendations you will make to the clinic.
    1. Critically analyze how a search of the literature on this topic informs you as a researcher and the research methods you might employ for research and evaluation.
    • What is your experience of conducting this search? Did you have difficulty finding what you needed? What search terms did you use? Did you need to revise them?
    • How did your review of literature influence you, e.g., your opinion and analysis?
    • Did it change your perceptions or expectations? Were you surprised by what you found?
    • Did you find any studies that really made an impression? Why or why not?
    • How might this review influence your program evaluation proposal for the Weeks 8 and 9 assignments in evaluating the recommendations you will be making? Will you propose a qualitative or a quantitative design? Why?
    • Use supporting evidence to support your work.
    1. Based on a critical analysis of your literature review and ethical practice as discussed in Week 2, recommend two best practice intervention strategies for the outpatient mental health treatment center for people in the community who have insecure housing or who are unhoused.
    • What are the two best practice intervention methods you will recommend to the City of Erickson based on your analysis of the literature review?
    • Explain why you have selected these two interventions.
    • Do the interventions align with ethical practice and standards?
    • Support your choice with the relevant scholarly literature.

  • Business Question

To introduce you to the world of marketing metrics and demonstrate how they connect to real human experiences people have throughout their customer journey.

    Format & Helpful Materials:

Be succinct, yet precise. Quality matters more than length. Use bullet points and short, to the point paragraphs. Write business style.

    Helpful Materials:

    • The ultimate guide to marketing metrics and Marketing metrics additional materials (posted in Canvas). These resources provide exhaustive list of various metrics that marketers use.
    • Your own research (if you need additional metrics or clarification)

    Evaluation Criteria:

This assignment will be used in place of your Professionalism & Engagement points.

You will be graded on a full credit / partial credit / no credit basis.

Full credit will be awarded if the assignment demonstrates thoughtful effort and is mostly precise and accurate.
Partial credit will be given if the submission shows minimal effort, there are some errors, unclear reasoning, or statements that do not clearly make sense.
No credit will be assigned if the submission shows no effort, is largely incomplete, or contains pervasive errors

    Task:

In todays marketing environment, we are surrounded by an overwhelming number of metrics claiming to measure success. However, not all metrics are equally meaningful. The goal of this assignment is to move beyond the noise and identify how key metrics capture human experiences. You will use your own journey as a BSU student to examine moments of frictioncommonly called pain pointsand translate them into metrics that marketers could use to detect and address problems at scale.

    1. Identify 4 Pain Points

Reflect on your journey as a BSU studentfrom the first time you heard about BSU to your current position as a marketing student approaching graduation. Identify four specific moments (pain points) where you experienced friction, frustration, or confusion. Pain points may relate to areas such as:

    • Marketing communications (social media, website, flyers, catalogs)
    • Campus visits or onboarding
    • Housing
    • Financial aid
    • E-mail communication
    • Student organizations or advising etc.

Make sure that your pain points touch on different areas of your journey and experience.

    1. Match Each Pain Point with a Metric:

For each pain point, identify one unique marketing metric that would best measure failure or friction in that area of student experience. Use canvas materials and your own research to help you answer this question.

Make sure that no metrics repeat. Feel free to be creative. If no existing metric fits, create one!

    1. Explain the “Why”

For each metric, describe what that metric measures in your own words. Then explain how and why it captures the pain point you identified. In other words, how can it be used to signal a problem that may need to be addressed by a marketer?

    Example:

    Please see hypothetical example below:

Pain point: As a prospective student, I found it difficult to understand the true cost of attending BSU because information about tuition and fees was hard to locate.

Metric: Total users to BSUs tuition and fees page.

Definition: Total users measures the number of unique individuals who visited the tuition and fees webpage during a specific time period.

Explanation: This metric indicates how easily prospective students are able to locate BSUs tuition and fees information. If students struggle to find this page, the total number of users will be low relative to overall website traffic. Tracking this metric over time allows marketers to assess the accessibility and visibility of cost information and to evaluate whether changes to website navigation, labeling, or linking improve the visibility of this page.

But don’t use Ai for this please!
