Creating a Search Strategy

After studying Module 4: Lecture Materials & Resources, discuss the following:

• Compare the reliability of evidence-based research using an evidence pyramid.
• Describe in detail the search strategy used to conduct the literature review for your PICO question. A literature flow diagram must be uploaded to this assignment.

Original PICO Question:

In adults with serious mental illness receiving outpatient psychiatric care, do digital medication adherence interventions with real-time monitoring improve medication adherence rates compared to standard care over six months?

Submission Instructions:

• Your initial post should be at least 500 words, formatted and cited in the current APA style.

Research topic: Improving follow-up compliance for abnormal cancer screening results in a family practice clinic

For this assignment, you will prepare a 3 to 4-page review of the literature pertinent to a selected problem for healthcare research and use that review to propose a methodology to address the problem.

1. Conduct a search of the literature relevant to the problem/topic. Identify a minimum of 4 references, most of which are peer-reviewed articles. Only one opinion article may be included.
2. Read the peer-reviewed articles with the focus of preparing a document that will compare and contrast the information in the articles you found. Copies of the articles used must be submitted with the final paper.
3. The reader of your literature review should be able to clearly identify the gaps in the knowledge in the problem area, as well as the purpose of the study you are proposing. The number of pages in this assignment should be no longer than 4 pages. You should be able to write enough to create an effective argument, but not so much that the result looks padded.
4. Prepare an Evidence Matrix using the template.

Submission Instructions:

• The introduction is original work and logically organized.
• The paper is 4 pages in length and follows current APA format including citation of references. Not including cover page and reference page
• Incorporate a minimum of 4 current (published within the last five years) scholarly journal articles or primary legal sources (statutes, court opinions) within your work.
• Journal articles and books should be referenced according to the current APA style (the library has a copy of the APA Manual).
• Your submission will be reviewed for plagiarism through Turnitin.

Requirements: 4 pages not including reference and cover
