    Heads-up

Two separate assignments are required to be submitted this week. This assignment is Assignment 1, which is the Leading a Virtual Team assignment. It involves choosing a fictional team scenario where you will insert yourself as the team lead. For Assignment 2, you will start on the road to completing your Week 7 PowerPoint presentation by providing some basic information.

    Instructions

For this assignment, you will assume the following role: Leader of a Virtual Team.

As the leader, you should be eager to design an A+ team. Earlier in this lesson, you learned the ten strategies needed for designing an A+ team, now you will apply those strategies to one of the scenarios that you selected from below. This fictional virtual team for which you are the leader is in the first stage of group developmentformingwhere orientation is needed.

Review and choose one of the following two scenarios as your focus for Assignment 1.

    Scenario 1

A team has been formed at work, and the purpose of the team is to improve the shared workspace experience. Concerns of neatness and collegiality have been identified, and this team is to resolve those issues by implementing a strategic plan of action. This team will be meeting through an online platform. You are the leader of this team.

    Scenario 2

Your neighborhood community has been struggling with vandalism and safety issues. A committee has been formed to address these issues. You have been asked to take the lead position. Your committee will be meeting through an online platform.

    Part 1: Introduction

In Part 1, you will write an introduction that could serve as a document to be read if you were actually leading this virtual team. It could be a team at work that is meeting through Zoom or WebEx. It could be a team in your neighborhood that meets through FaceTime or WhatsApp. It could be a committee that has been formed within an organization of which you are a part. In this page-long introduction, develop the elements of listening, speaking, being culturally sensitive, and managing conflict.

For Part 1: Introduction, please allow an outside source, the lesson, and the textbook to guide your creation of this introduction that needs to flow smoothly from 1A to 1D.

If this fictional team was formed and you were made the leader, what would you need to say in order for the following elements to be clearly addressed with the other team members?

    1. Listening: The importance of listening as a member of the team.
    2. Speaking: How verbal communication should take place within the virtual meetings.
    3. Culturally Sensitive: The importance of being culturally sensitive while communicating in the team.
    4. Managing Conflict: How conflict will be managed during virtual meetings.

So, what do you want to say? How will you start this teams first virtual gathering so that the tone and expectations are established?

    Part 2. Reflection

In your 2A to 2D reflection, you will have the opportunity to explain the reasoning you used for incorporating all four elements of listening, speaking, being culturally sensitive, and managing conflict in your Part 1 introduction.

      • You will write a full paragraph under each of the four headings seen below.
      • Within each paragraph, you must include either a reference from an outside source, the lesson, or the textbook; all three must be used at least once, and all sections must have at least one source.)
      • Please use all headings as found on the required template.
    • 2A. Listening
      • In this paragraph, you will explain how you addressed listening within the introduction. Share what guided your strategy and what source you used.
    • 2B. Speaking
      • In this second paragraph, you will explain how you addressed speaking within the introduction, what guided your strategy, and what source you used.
    • 2C. Culturally Sensitive
      • In this paragraph, you will explain how you addressed the need to be culturally sensitive in the introduction. Share what guided your strategy and what source you used.
    • 2D. Managing Conflict
      • In this final paragraph, you will explain how you addressed managing conflict in the introduction. Share what guided your strategy and what source you used.

  • Is it fair for the police to defend a criminal instead of th…

Is it fair for the police to defend a criminal instead of the person who saved the victim? In some cases, the police are seen defending a criminal rather than the person who tried to save a victim. This situation often raises questions about fairness and justice. Many people feel confused and disappointed when someone who acts to protect another person is treated like a criminal, while the real wrongdoer seems to receive more attention.

This usually happens because the law focuses strongly on the loss of life. When a criminal is killed, the police may immediately see it as a serious crime without fully considering the situation. They may ignore the fact that the person acted to save a victim in a dangerous and urgent condition. As a result, the act of helping can be misunderstood as violence.

However, from a moral and legal point of view, saving a victim should be carefully considered. Someone who acts in an emergency does not always have time to think about legal consequences. Their main goal is to stop harm and protect another person. Treating such a person unfairly can discourage others from helping victims in dangerous situations.

Therefore, it is not fair if the police defend a criminal without properly examining the context of the incident. The law should be applied wisely and humanely. Police officers should look at the intention, situation, and urgency before making judgments, so justice can truly protect innocent people.

  • Intersecting Identities Case Study

The paper should be 3-5 pages in APA format not including title and reference page. Identify a client (individual, couple, or family) who is seen at the practicum agency, for whom intersecting identities present a significant aspect of their psychosocial challenges. Preferably this would be someone with whom you work, but if you are not seeing clients directly at this point, it can be a client your supervisor or a staff member sees.

The client is a 9 year old Palestinian girl who comes from a low income family that lives with the disorder osteogenesis imperfecta. The presenting problems are navigating being a kid while living with the disorder and having issues with moving schools due to being low income and the parents hardly finding work.

    1. Describe the clients demographics, using their own identifying language.
    2. Describe the presenting problems and the role of the social worker or student.
    3. Offer a conceptualization of how intersecting identities present challenges and opportunities for the client.
    4. Share your plan of how you have addressed or hope to address these challenges and opportunities.
    5. Examine how your own intersecting identities may have an impact on the client relationship, and how these should be or have been managed.

Unlike antibiotics that inhibit cell wall synthesis or protein production, membrane-targeting drugs act by disrupting the structural integrity and permeability of the bacterial membrane itself. This disruption causes leakage of essential ions and cellular contents, ultimately resulting in bacterial cell death rather than merely slowing growth (Madigan et al., 2021). Two well-known antibiotics that use this mechanism are polymyxins and daptomycin, which are often reserved for serious or drug-resistant infections. Polymyxins primarily target Gram-negative bacteria by binding to lipopolysaccharides (LPS) and phospholipids in the outer membrane. This binding displaces stabilizing calcium and magnesium ions, weakening the membrane and increasing permeability. As a result, vital cellular components leak out, leading to cell lysis. An easy way to explain this to a friend is that polymyxins act like detergents, breaking down the bacterial membrane so the cell can no longer hold itself together (Trimble et al., 2016). Daptomycin works differently and is effective against Gram-positive bacteria. It inserts into the bacterial cell membrane in a calcium-dependent manner and forms channels that disrupt the membranes electrical potential. This loss of membrane potential stops essential processes such as DNA, RNA, and protein synthesis, which quickly leads to cell death (Mller et al., 2016). Because bacterial membranes differ from human cell membranes, these drugs can selectively target bacteria, though their potential toxicity limits routine use. References: Madigan, M. T., Bender, K. Jana Mariah Villaviza posted Jan 29, 2026 7:02 AM Last edited: Thursday, January 29, 2026 7:10 AM EST From a scientific perspective, many antibiotics target the bacterial cell wall, which is composed mainly of peptidoglycan and is essential for maintaining cell shape and resisting internal osmotic pressure. During normal growth, bacteria continuously synthesize and remodel this wall using enzymes called penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). Antibiotics such as penicillin, ampicillin, oxacillin, and cefoxitin inhibit these PBPs, preventing proper cross-linking of the peptidoglycan layer. As a result, the weakened cell wall can no longer withstand the internal pressure of the cell, causing the bacterium to burst (cell lysis) and die. Vancomycin also disrupts cell wall synthesis by binding to peptidoglycan precursors, blocking their incorporation and leading to the same outcome, cell lysis. The perfect analogy would be to think of a bacterium like a house that is constantly under high pressure from the inside, and the cell wall is the brick structure that keeps the house from collapsing. To stay standing, the house needs both bricks and construction workers to continually repair and strengthen the walls. Penicillin, ampicillin, oxacillin, and cefoxitin act like firing the construction workers. These antibiotics block the enzymes called penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), which are responsible for putting the bricks together and reinforcing the wall. Without the workers, the wall becomes weak and full of gaps. Eventually, the pressure inside the house becomes too much, and the walls collapse outward, much like a bursting balloon, killing the bacteria. Vancomycin works a little differently. Instead of stopping the workers, it locks up the bricks before they ever reach the construction site. Even if workers are present, they have nothing to build with, so the wall cannot be completed, leading to the same bursting collapse. In simple terms, these antibiotics cause bacteria to burst by preventing them from building a strong protective wall, which is essential for survival. References Perkins, H. R., & Walsh, T. R.
