    Instructions:

    Students will have a choice to write a final paper or create their own work of art (project) and connect it to class content and themes. Possible themes/content include but are not limited to philosophy, religious thought, creative arts, literature, politics, history, poetry, drama, theatre, architecture, music, etc. Students can choose to write a 67-page final paper that analyzes and connects any humanities-based theme from our course or create a project representative of the humanities alongside a 2-3 page final paper.

    For Project and accompanying paper: Showcase how the Humanities applies to your everyday life by creating a piece of artwork. In your accompanying paper, be critical of yourself, and identify/apply key themes and characteristics learned from our course that are applied in your artwork. Remember, there are many different types of art. You can choose the medium! Write a 2-3-page paper using 2 or more sources. 1 outside source and 1 source from our class. Papers must be at least 2 total pages long and follow standard MLA formatting (typed, double-spaced, 12 pt. Times New Roman font, 1-inch margins). Please cite (using MLA) all of the required sources and have a Works Cited page.

    For Paper only: Showcase how the Humanities applies to everyday life. Choose a work of art and interpret what the artist is trying to convey in terms of human life/living. Be critical, and identify/apply key themes and characteristics learned from our course. Draw connections with your personal life. Write a 6-7-page paper using 2 or more sources. 1 outside source and 1 source from our class.     III. Caso Clnico:
    El paciente es un hombre de 62 aos que se encuentra hospitalizado en una unidad mdico-quirrgica por una neumona adquirida en la comunidad. Ingres a la institucin a travs de la sala de emergencias luego de presentar fiebre persistente, tos productiva, dificultad respiratoria leve y malestar general durante varios das. Al momento de su admisin, el paciente manifest que intent manejar los sntomas en su hogar, pero decidi buscar atencin mdica al notar un aumento en la dificultad para respirar y una sensacin constante de agotamiento.
    Durante el segundo da de hospitalizacin, el paciente se muestra visiblemente ansioso e inquieto. Expresa preocupacin por su estado de salud y verbaliza que no comprende completamente su diagnstico ni el tratamiento que est recibiendo. Seala que diferentes profesionales de la salud entran a su habitacin a lo largo del da y le brindan informacin utilizando trminos mdicos quele resultan confusos, lo que aumenta su frustracin y su sensacin de inseguridad. El paciente comenta que cada persona dice algo distinto y que esto le genera desconfianza y miedo sobre su recuperacin.

    Desde el punto de vista clnico, el paciente presenta una temperatura corporal de 38.3 C, presin arterial de 138/86 mmHg,frecuencia cardaca de 94 latidos por minuto, frecuencia respiratoria de 22 respiraciones por minuto y una saturacin de oxgeno de 92 %. Se observa tos productiva con esputo amarillento y uso leve de msculos accesorios durante la respiracin. Aunque el paciente responde adecuadamente a las preguntas, se distrae con facilidad y requiere que la informacin se le repita en varias ocasiones para poder comprenderla.En cuanto a sus antecedentes mdicos, el paciente tiene historial de hipertensin arterial y fue fumador por aproximadamente veinte aos (20), aunque dej el hbito hace cinco (5) aos. No presenta alergias conocidas y admite que su cumplimiento con citas mdicas de seguimiento ha sido irregular. Vive con su esposa, quien trabaja durante el da, por lo que pasa gran parte del tiempo solo en el hospital. El paciente expresa temor a convertirse en una carga para su familia y preocupacin por no poder retomar sus actividades habituales una vez sea dado de alta. A nivel psicosocial, el paciente valora profundamente el respeto y la comunicacin clara por parte del personal de salud. Manifiesta sentirse ms tranquilo cuando se le explica el plan de cuidado de manera sencilla y cuando el profesional se dirige a l por su nombre. Sin embargo, hasta el momento, no ha percibido una comunicacin consistente ni coordinada entre los miembros del equipo de salud. Los reportes entre turnos han sido breves y poco estructurados, y no siempre se validan sus emociones o preocupaciones durante las interacciones clnicas.
