    Assignment Overview

This assignment asks you to identify and engage with an outside source that you will cite and put into dialogue with your argumentative essay. By providing a brief overview of a source you are using (or plan to use), this exercise will help you establish connections between your argument and the sources argument. It also gives you an opportunity to share your research with other writers and readers.

    Skills and Goals

    • Practice summarizing an academic source
    • Develop strategies for engaging with sources in your writing
    • Build connections between your argument and existing scholarship

    Tasks

From your week 2 research log, choose one outside source you would like to summarize.

    Write a 300-word paragraph that:

    • identifies the author and title of the source
    • briefly summarizes the sources main argument
    • explains the sources anticipated relevance to your essay

    In addition, you may also:

    • note the significance of the text (e.g., whether it is a seminal work, a widely cited source, or one you find especially compelling)
    • identify specific elements of the source you plan to draw on
    • assess the strengths or weaknesses of the argument in relation to your own, providing clear reasoning and evidence

  • Criminology Theory (CRIM-399-OL-25410)

THESE ARE TWO ASSIGNMENTS PLEASE DON’T USE CHAT GPT.

THIS IS THE FIRST ONE—>Reflection: Conflict Perspectives

For this reflection paper I would like you to think about the following question:
    1.
We have discussed the idea that the conflict perspective focuses on how people define
right and wrong differently and sometimes disagree on what the law should be or do. For
this reflection, I would like you to find a video about an event (like the LA Riots, George
Floyd protests, or other type of civil unrest). Reflect on how that event may be an
example of the conflict perspective manifesting in the real-world. How is that event (or
the reaction to an event) demonstrative of disagreement between people about
right/wrong and the purpose of the law? Make sure to link the video at the bottom of your
    response.
Remember to address all aspects of the questions! Your paper should be a minimum of 1.5 full
double-spaced pages. Standard writing conventions apply. All sources used (from class and
outside of class) should be cited using APA 7th edition citations (with a separate references page
that does not count towards your page count). Keep in mind that this assignment should not be
you regurgitating what others have said. This assignment should entail you proposing your own
thoughts and perspectives and using other articles to support your argument. Try to consider
potential critiques of your position as you write and address them in your paper. If you have any
questions, please email me or come to office hours.

THIS IS THE SECOND ONE—->Theory in Policy

For this assignment I would like you to apply the conflict perspectives we have been
talking about in class to an actual law, criminal justice policy, or event in United History. In class
I have provided examples of each. We critically examined the use of offender labels like sex
offender and questioned why such labels exist (pros and cons) and how these labels may do more
harm than good when it comes to rehabilitation and monitoring offenders. We have also
questioned policies like three strikes laws and civil asset forfeiture. We questioned the purposes
and effectiveness of these policies and how they tied into broader criminal justice issues like the
War on Drugs. Lastly, we discussed various historical events such as the Flint Water Crisis, the
East Palestine Train Derailment, and Native American Boarding Schools in both the US and
Canada. We discussed how those responsible are rarely held to account and discussed how these
incidents influenced the communities and people around them, potentially over years and
    generations.

The assignment will require you to find a news article and/or a video of one such
example and discuss it. To be clear: this means I would like you to find a different event than the

ones we have covered in lecture. How would the conflict perspectives we have talked about seek

to explain these policies and/or events? I would like about a page summarizing the event,
policy, or law and then to 1 page reflecting on your content and applying the conflict
perspective to your reflection. Make sure to cite all outside sources (including videos!). APA 7th
edition citations are required. Please submit all assignments as word doc attachments. No PDFs,
links to Word Online, Google Docs, or other formats will be accepted. Please email me with any
    questions.

Reflection Papers (5 x 25 points each = 125 points): These reflection papers will consist of you
responding to various prompts that I post on Blackboard. These papers should be 2-3 doubles
spaced pages in length. They will consist of your own personal reflections on papers, theories,
and other topics specified in the prompt. You may use outside sources to reinforce your point,
but you must use APA citations. Make sure to completely answer all aspects of the prompts to
get full credit. You are encouraged to submit case briefs early if you have the time to complete
them. Waiting until the day they are due is a recipe to forget the assignment and/or submit
poorer quality work than you are capable of

  • FIN500 Behavioral Finance Analysis: Overconfidence, Loss Ave…

    1. Research Behavioral Finance: Begin by reviewing research and resources on behavioral finance, including cognitive biases such as overconfidence, loss aversion, and framing effects.
    2. Analyze Financial Decisions: Apply these biases to real-world financial decisions or stock market behavior. Choose examples from recent market movements, individual investor behavior, or institutional financial decisions. For instance, consider how biases may have influenced bond valuation or investor reactions during market volatility.
    3. Behavioral Biases: Specifically focus on:
      • Overconfidence: How investors overestimate their knowledge or ability, affecting bond and stock prices.
      • Loss Aversion: How people fear losses more than equivalent gains, which can lead to suboptimal investment decisions.
      • Framing Effects: How presenting financial information differently can alter decision-making (e.g., framing risk as a potential loss vs. a potential gain).
    4. Report: Submit a 3-4 page (APA formatted with 2 to 3 sources) report that includes:
      • A brief explanation of key cognitive biases and their relevance to financial decision-making.
      • Real-world examples illustrating how these biases impact bond and stock valuations.
      • Discussion on strategies to mitigate the effects of these biases in financial decision-making.
  • PR powerpoint presentation

PowerPoint presentationYou will be provided with an established organization/campaign to examine and analyze. The assignment consists of creating a PowerPoint presentation that begins with an overview of the organization/campaign and then goes on to address the following areas: significant individual campaigns the organization has mounted over time (examine as many as you feel necessary to illustrate what the organization is all about); strengths and weaknesses of the organizations initiatives; controversies and criticisms that have resulted; influences and effects of the campaigns.

You will be creating slides per each component (the overview; individual campaigns; strengths, weaknesses and controversies, etc.). In terms of the presentation length, the best guideline is to simply make it as long as is necessary to get all the points across. The PowerPoint should be designed to be as interesting, compelling, illustrative, and complete as you can make it. That said, beware of information overload on each slide. You need to impart information, but writing paragraphs of text on a PowerPoint is counter-productive. (weight: 35%)

the topic on which you have to make the presentation is : The Dove Campaign for Real Beauty

only use the related and checked references and the word limit is according to the weightage of the assignment.

  • Computer Ethics

please respond to tyler with 150 words no plagairism, ai no chat bots

To me, the thing that stands out most about this Anthropic code leak is just how quickly the code spread around GitHub. So many people saved the code that it feels almost futile to take down repositories. The leak would just circulate through other means such as discord and other file sharing platforms.

Many people were affected by such as shareholders, Anthropic itself, and most notably innocent developers working on their own legal projects. While I believe the company has the right to take down people that are using their leaked code and AI inappropriately, they without a doubt went too far. Instead of owning the mistake and taking the hit, they went with extremely broad takedowns that encompassed many legal projects, many of which had nothing to do with Anthropic.

Intellectual property is everywhere, from online sites like Instagram or YouTube, to a can of coke. When it comes to digital properties specifically, while complicated due to individual company policies, I believe it is okay to use and share something if it comes from a big company, especially if you have purchased the said item. For example, let’s say you purchase a video game and post a playthrough of it on YouTube. I believe that is fair use and should not be taken down, Afterall you gave the developer money and are getting more eyes on the product, but if it is something like art from an Instagram post and you want to use it or repost, I would say show the creator some support and give them credit.

I have personally not seen anything that comes to mind that is like the Anthropic situation, but I have seen plenty of copyright takedowns and issues on YouTube especially with anything Nintendo related. If I was caught in the Anthropic take down wave, I would be understandably angry and annoyed especially if it was something I poured my heart and time into. Then, depending on the damage, I would try to get legal compensation.

GitHub and Anthropic have the moral responsibility to apologize and make things right for those that were affected by this. It is important for big companies like these to keep the trust of the people, without it they would lose reputation and cease to exist
