    Substances of Abuse: Alcohol and Other Drugs

    Paper #1 must be five to seven pages in body (not including title page, abstract or references), double-spaced in 12-pt Times New Roman font, and meet all other applicable APA format and style standards. Paper #1 will focus on a specific substance/drug of abuse/addiction: alcohol, cocaine, steroids, etc. The focus of the paper is on the specific substance/drug and the impacts on the user.

    Paper #1 should clearly address and present understanding of the following:

    1. Overview of the pharmacological nature of the substance (characteristics and properties);
