  • Geography Question

In the textbook, Nelson (2021) outlines the importance of studying the place’s
geographical perspective in tourism. Such an approach allows us to go beyond a tourists
view and develop a fuller understanding of the physical and human environments, as well
as the processes of tourism that impact a place. A geographical perspective on tourism
allows one to consider the many underlying issues facing current tourism destinations
    worldwide.

Nelson (2021) provides a geographic lens by using the environmental resources and
barriers of places of tourism as a baseline to understand how tourism impacts the overall
environment. This offers an integrative framework for situating and analyzing the identified
tourism issue. The Term Paper should integrate this geographic lens to provide a
    comprehensive analysis.

The intent of this course component is for you to begin at the outset to explore a specific
tourism-related issue that you would like to understand better. This exploration should
begin with the following four steps:

    1)
First, consider Nelsons (2021) textbook on Tourism Geography so you can begin to
determine the scope of issues and a potential topic for your research.
    2)
Once an issue is identified, begin with an online search of media sources. This will
provide you with a general sense of the issue and the regions of the world where it is
occurring. It should also raise more questions for you about the issue and where to
    find further sources of information.
    3)
Other documents that you may find online include tourism reports and policy
    information.
    4)
Once your understanding of the issue has been broadened, the last step is to search
for peer-reviewed academic journal articles that provide a more informed context

This preliminary exploration of a tourism issue will serve as the basis for a 6-8 page,

double-spaced Term Paper. Please use the research paper proposal provided to develop and work on the final Paper

The Role of the RN/APRN in Policy Evaluation

In the Module 4 Discussion, you considered how professional nurses can become involved in policy-making. A critical component of any policy design is evaluation of the results. How comfortable are you with the thought of becoming involved with such matters?

Some nurses may be hesitant to get involved with policy evaluation. The preference may be to focus on the care and well-being of their patients; some nurses may feel ill-equipped to enter the realm of policy and political activities. However, as you have examined previously, who better to advocate for patients and effective programs and polices than nurses? Already patient advocates in interactions with doctors and leadership, why not with government and regulatory agencies?

In this Discussion, you will reflect on the role of professional nurses in policy evaluation.

When politics and medical science intersect, there can be much debate. Sometimes anecdotes or hearsay are misused as evidence to support a particular point. Despite these and other challenges, however, evidence-based approaches are increasingly used to inform health policy decision-making regarding causes of disease, intervention strategies, and issues impacting society. One example is the introduction of childhood vaccinations and the use of evidence-based arguments surrounding their safety.

In this Discussion, you will identify a recently proposed health policy and share your analysis of the evidence in support of this policy.
